Those platinum trophies you receive after obtaining all other trophies would be the toughest gaming accomplishments for me. I've never been able to do that. Even for the Grand Theft Auto games and Red Dead Redemption, I haven't ever finished the game with 100% completion. Yes, I've completed the main story missions, but I wouldn't even bother to aim for 100% completion. That's something that's tough, and I don't think I'll put in that much effort for a game any time soon. That's just what I think.

I'm a student in high school, so it's definitely hard to balance my schedule. I don't really have the leisure to play games extensively yet, although I would like to be able to do that someday.

The ones that spring to mind are:

Completing God Of War (PS2) on the hardest difficulty. The final boss battle is long and soul crushingly difficult. To make things way way worse, the game had a bug. After I finally defeated Ares, I stood at the bottom of the steps to Olympus. Before ascending to the game's end. I decided to finish levelling up with the souls gained from the final boss. CRASH! It had taken me about 4 hours to beat that boss. Now I had to do it again.

Defeating Akuma in Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. It's like fighting an opponent who knows what your going to do before you do it. I think what they did was eliminate any human like reaction time. So the game reads your controller inputs and is ready to counter even before the animation for the move starts. It's mental. That's probably the last time I screamed at a game.

People saying COD4's Mile High Club on Veteran (a tough challenge to be sure) is the most difficult thing they've done in a game... well it pales in comparison to the two things I mentioned.

One that comes to mind is beating Shao Kahn in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Jesus Christ that's one unfair fight, felt so good when I finally kicked his ass.

Also Shao Kahn in the latest Mortal Kombat on the hardest difficulty setting. Not as bad as his UMK3 counterpart, bit still challenging.

beating the final mission in black at hard mode

The very exact thing that I posted way back in the first pages of this topic, with others also agreeing. The amount of enemies that come at you from all angles made this a toughie, not to mention that they spawned in every location of the last room, so you literally had nowhere that you could just camp in. I finally mastered a technique though, which saw me running from one room to another, up on the balcony, lobbing random grenades off of the balcony everytime that I ran past, then running in to one of the rooms to clear any of the enemies that came at me from the top parts of the room. The most annoying time for me on this level was when I had finally cleared the room of all the enemies, so ran down to the end to wait for the door to open up to the end of the level, and noticed some guy in one those boxed off sections of the room at the end...I had an RPG in my hand, so decided to fire this at him, and due to some clipping bug, the RPG exploded on the wall, rather than go through the gap, and killed me instantly. I think this is one of the rare times that I have smashed a control pad. mad.gif

Getting Recon armour on Halo 3 was the hardest thing I've done in gaming. All those vidmaster achievments were a pain to say the least but well worth it!

I've beaten over 100 games over the last 3-4 years but I don't think I have done something super or hardcore. At least it doesn't feel like that.

But I have beaten some NES games that people say are some of the hardest games on the console, like Castlevania, Zelda II and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. For sure these were some of the most challenging games I've ever played and beaten. I've also beaten most of the Call of Duty missions on Veteran in MW, World at War, MW2 and Black Ops. I think there was one mission in World at War I couldn't beat on that difficulity but overall I think I beat all missions on Veteran. Personally I don't think the Veteran missions are that hard, but they are challenging of course.

I own around 40 Playstation 3 game and I have beaten most of them. But I have only won two Platinum trophies. These were from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Terminator Salvation. They were not that hard to get but you are very satisfied when you win a Platinum Trophy or a 100% complete in a game.

My biggest accomplishment would have been (or maybe) beating the European version of Rygar on NES but I couldn't beat the legendary hard last boss. I tried for almost three hours and then I gave up because it was late in the night. And it felt like it was a hopeless situation because the boss had over 30 lives. My character only had 5 or something like that.

The most difficult, legitimate achievement I've got would be the Mile High Club on Veteran on CoD4. I say that because it actually takes some proper skill rather than just dealing with bullsh*t like the laser-guided grenades on WaW Veteran.

I swear though, if I ever have to hear "Tango down in section one-alpha!" again I'll destroy whatever it came out of.

I couldn't agree more!
I killed every enemy and had 13 seconds left. So i thought after 17 tries THANK GOD!
Then just then that stupid SAS member put me stuck in a corner. I swear i felt like breaking my xbox but good thing i didn't. But i had to buy a new controller.

I agree that this is mentally hard and i still haven't done it. Everyone says that a few missions on the COD 4 campaign were hard, but i completed it on veteran with no real trouble atall.

But the mile high club, a whole different story suicidal.gif
