I have a probleme with water.dat , the games crash , i do not know why, there may be an error in the export of water.dat .

There's no errors in water.dat - game crashes by unknown reason. May be, it's needed to change the shorelines too...

You have any idea what the 'vnod' section is in IPL files? (common\data\maps)

AFAIK, it's read by the game(vnod+link sections) as paths, but no further information...

AFAIK the water.dat file doesn't changed that much since day one.

Hmm...i've thought that one day I've noticed a line like *3.2 in the coordinates, so I haven't rounded them at all...will be fixed.

Thank you for this, I will try it someday when I have time.

Someone should have said this when I posted about water.dat crashing my game earlier in the GIMS thread. tounge.gif

I was also about to PM terreur69 since I saw he has a swimming pool working in Gostown. smile.gif But it may appear his crashes as well. sad.gif

EDIT: I tried it and it works!! smile.gif Now the pool does not crash and Niko can swim in it instead of walking on the bottom of the pool.

Speaking of water.dat, is there a way to make water above you, and not getting pulled up by the water when you are beneath it? (you will swim up in the sky, it looks really silly.)

IV's water.dat is identical to SA's right? Even down to the even, rounded numbers bug/feature.
So, surely using the Shallow setting would allow the player to be under the water without rising upward? (this is possible, i've done it in SA)
SA's shallow water setting affects between 5 and 10 units downward until it gets disabled.

Yes, a very silly way to do this though, I am not sure it works for every situation.

Put a plane of water under the ground you want your character to stand on, now place a water plane in the sky ABOVE that water plane and the bottom one will negate the floating effect of the one above it. smile.gif

Remember my PM a few months back? tounge.gif I had this problem. smile.gif

what does NOD even stand for, knowing this may help us further on?!

I mean e.g WDR, Windows Drawable Dictionary

D again must be dictionary..

i guess Node O(something) dictionary
or is it a knockoff from SA where it just means NODES

I'm guessing it means Vertex Node because the path nodes are connected by points, aka vertexes. Actually, nodes ARE the points, so disregard my guess.

You know the TUNE files as openformat for WFT? VNOD may be the open format for NOD or something, not sure

For some reason Rockstar duplicates some data for no reason, like some WTD in pc/textures and half the data isn't used anyway

Which probably explains the rather bloated footprint compared to the 6-something GB that the X360 version took up. Although since the latter used lower-def textures it might have been another factor.

Euphoria is not physics engine. Euphoria is dynamic animation/behavior engine.
In GTA IV version RAGE uses Bullet as physics engine (http://bulletphysics.org/).

They just not delete this data from build folder, here is no any other reasons.

The Weapon Export is still wrong.


When I put my weapon exactly in the same place GIMS or Open IV (don't know which one is the issue) moves it to another place.


I even tried importing and exporting a IV weapon and it happens too.

is there a fix?
