Bar I think. Even though, in RDR, shootouts were harder so the regenerator was needed. I guess it depends.

I'd hate the idea of regeneration, it completely takes away any challenge from the game. It basically makes you invincible when exploited, which isn't exactly hard to do.

how bout health that regenerates when your NOT in action. That way you don't have to worry about it being fully regenerated after you've been in cover for like 10 seconds. And when your just walking/driving around, it SLOWLY regenerates so you don't have to worry about the next slightest impact knocking you dead. And an other thing, how realistic is walking around looking PERFECTLY FINE when your near death after you've been shot 20 times. They should make the protag at least limp and actually look injured when their health is low.

My own invention:

Early in the storyline you get outfitted with a bulletproof vest. From that point on you have a 'shield' bar. You can refill it by buying a new vest from... whoever.

And that's it.

The only time I like regenerating health is in multiplayer, because looking for health packs is annoying in that context.

So true, it really depends on how big a part combat will be.

RDR was very combat heavy, and health regeneration made sense. If the next GTA will be like RDR (again, combat heavy ) then I would expect RH, and also maybe free aim, instead of the present more "noob friendly" Auto aim.

But personally I doubt that we would get a new GTA as combat heavy as RDR. It's hard to define GTA's main focus. Is it driving, shooting, the story, the characters, or exploration, satire, political commentary? Making it more combat oriented might narrow the gameplay, and aliened some players. On the other hand, RDR was a massive success, and very unexpected. So maybe people are ready for a more combat heavy GTA.

Everybody complained how GTA was to focused on shoot-outs and no variety in missions (aside from BOGT) so i don't think we are ready to turn GTA into a shooter.

I think when the player is in a fist fight you shouldn't really lose any health just like in RDR but if an enemy knocks you down somehow you lose health and if you hit your head on the pavement you lose a large amount of health.

Also, HR worked in RDR because of the fact it did not have the food stores and hot dog vendors back in that time. Having a health bar is a GTA tradition and if the game was given a HR system it would ruin so many gameplay oppurtunities and would give absolutely no use to food stores.

Just my opinion.

Did you miss the "and that's it"? GTAIV had a health and shield bar. As did all the rest of the GTAs.

I think health itself is silly. Restoring it, losing it by being gently bumped by a car, tripping over a curb. It's right up there with GTA3 where you could literally scratch your car into exploding.

Don't mind either way, but for missions like 4 leaf clover, a regen system would be handy. You could do the bulk of the mission, taking about 20+ minutes (which it sometimes could) and on your way out of the train tracks, bump into a ped and they could just spark you once and you would die. San An's health bar was good, if you wanted to, you could increase it by doing paramedic missions.

I chose Regen on the vote because I have been playing alot of Uncharted lately, and got used to just hiding for a bit.

Please no health regeneration. It's what ruins the fun in games.

Why does it ruin the fun exactly? Just as long as it takes enough time to regenerate it should be alright.

I just never liked it. It takes the challenge out of the game. I loved GTA as it is, where you actually have to keep a look an your health instead of going out of cover and shoot everywhere then wait a few seconds in cover to regenerate.

IMO, I don't like health regeneration that much.

I agree.

If health regeneration gets implemented(please no), then at least improve the AI so that there wont be situations where ill be able to kill 1000 guys alone because they just stand there and only shoot if they see me(and i can just hide behind a wall, regenerate)

Maybe make it only possible to regenerate when there are no bad guys in X distance from you?
It would make sense, clear a room, hide behind a overturned table and regenerate, go to the next room etc.

Well no.....

Besides the first and final missions with all the farming stuff, RDR is nothing but shooting dudes.
At least mission wise.

Yes, IV definitely was missing some variety, but still we had flying, sailing, driving, racing bombing, and dating.

This would make the game too easy for everyone.
Perhaps have a cheat for it to improve upon having to enter the full health/armor cheat all the time.

I rarely cheat in GTA games less I want to goof around. But it can spoil the game's thrill.

My stance on health regeneration remains the same. I believe it was the first Mercanries game that featured health rgenartion only up to 20%. So I'd go with something like that. Meaning, we'd have a regular health bar and health pickups, but once your health goes down past 20%, it regenrates. No worries though, as you could still be killed in one shot with most guns, and pretty much any other weapon.
