I might just buy a motorbike.

Recommend. My 'not so friendly on gas' bike still manages to get over 50mpg

I'm going to gloat a bit - because I can.
I love people panicking over gas/fuel/petrol prices. My car is about 12 years old and has under 35k miles on it. I might fill my tank 2 or 3 times a year tounge.gif I never notice gas prices biggrin.gif

Fill your car twice a week??? Damn, even with reasonable fuel prices that would hurt.

Everyone needs to move to a metropolitan area with public transit.

I have been riding this exact trolley since about 1978. I was 'green' long before it was popular tounge.gif

*I nearly crapped my pants when I searched 'septa trolley' and this was one of the few shots that came up. That is my exact trolley and that shot is from 5 blocks away from my house.

I make around 200km (120 miles) each day, 5 days in a week so that makes it 600 miles per week.
Train is actually more expensive than going by car.
I'm flexible with my car.
The bus that suits me leaves at 7:15 am from where I live. I leave my house at 7:55 am.

Why is petrol only (according to my calculations, currency exchanges, gallons to litres etc.) 67 cents per litre while here I have to pay 1.53 per litre now?
I've seriously considered moving to the States when I finish college and who knows, maybe that's what I'm going to do...

f*ck public transit and f*ck metropolitan areas.

If you want to sit next to some Mexican that smells like a urinal cake then be my guess. I on the other hand, would rather drive my car. I'd say the same thing if gas was 10 dollars a gallon.

When oil goes up in price, fuel immediately goes up. Want to know the worst bit? The fuel at the pumps the day oil prices go up is made from the cheaper priced oil but they put the price up straight away anyway. Nice way of earning £££ by the fuel companies.

The fuel was already purchased, so the only way the oil company makes more money off the old fuel is if they own the gas station.

Over in England, the government takes over 70% off the cost of fuel which is currently about £1.30-£1.40 per litre(less than $10 per gallon if my maths is right.) If the government cut down on tax, our fuel cost could be back down to £1, or less.

Well, it's back and forth to work, so that offsets it a little.

But yeah, it blows.

Well, at the very least, I get around 20mpg highway as opposed to around 8-9 if it was gas.
But then the diesel is more expensive.

Also, the truck is integral to my work, so it's the only choice I have really.

Thanks for the support! smile.gif

It looks like it's going down. National average for Unleaded is 1.49 and diesel is 1.39.
In my town it's 1.47 petrol and 1.38 diesel.

Every once in a while (usually in New Jersey), I'll run into diesel prices just under $4, whicj is the best I can get at the moment.

3p/L off round here too. Was 136.9 for unleaded and 143.9 for diesel, now 133.9 and and 140.9 respectively. Still absurdly expensive, but I've also heard that they're going to scrap the proposed 3%-above-inflation rise in fuel duty in the upcoming budget
