I do remember that... It was the summer of 2003 or so. It was a rainy day. I was at a Playstation club where you pay 1 cash for 1 hour of play and so on. I played Vice City like all the time there, but this day I decided to try GTA III. I still remember the bridge, Claude in prison outfit, the fire, the rainy weather, the basketball court under the bridge, and cops killing me over and over again. I liked the game as much as Vice City, but couldn't really play it. I was about 13 years old at the time. Later they shut down the club and I never saw GTA III until 2008. I became a huge fan of GTA in 2008 starting from San Andreas and going through Vice City. My PC had problems running GTA III though, so instead I played GTA Liberty City (the Vice City mod) just for the fun of it. But the mod itself was messed up as I downloaded it from a torrent site. Claude had a very sh*tty model and the game itself had no missions, had Vice City cops, had Vice City gangs, had Vice City anims and so on. I eventually learned how to mod and edit the most basic stuff such as the ones I mentioned above. I found the actual GTA III cop model, a few actual GTA III gangs, GTA III anims and even the GTA III thugs for VC, and a proper Claude model... I put them all in the game, but I was still new to the mod tools, the game files and everything so it took me some time to figure all this out and how it works. Being a huge New York admirer, I was very happy that I finally had something that looks like GTA III. The only thing you can do on it is troll the cops, stunt or search for hidden packages. I liked it that way since I don't really like mods with missions or mods in general. So basically I learned the whole city from this piece of mod and the whereabouts of 92 hidden packages, some hidden weapons and so on. It was funny when I found out that there is a package in the air above the bridge as I crashed numerous helicopters just to get it, I still remember that moment I actually still keep it on a CD. So yeah, I played this thing for about year and I finally managed to play the REAL GTA III in 2009 when I got a new computer. You can say the first time I really played the game was then rather than 2003. I loved that game even more than Vice City and San Andreas, the atmosphere and everything was awesome. Since then I have completed GTA III numerous times, and still play it occasionally. P.S. Sorry for the huge post This post has been edited by Jericho176 on Sunday, Feb 12 2012, 09:15

It was around 2008 when i got into GTA. I own an old refurbished PS2 and I decided to try GTA III because i liked True Crime. When I popped in GTA III for the first time, i fell in love. It had a dark gloomy atmosphere, and I was surprised that a game could capture such essence. Every time I would kill someone, I would feel guilty, but then when it became habit, I got a weird rush. I suck at GTA so i cheat constantly. I remember felling like i would never get to Stanton Island. I would use the flying car cheat and fly off the bridge trying so hard to make it across. When i finally did, I would ride around sight seeing. Now, I own the entire GTA III era games, and i still suck.

At a frieinds house I played some kind of game, we went were free roaming and had endless fun stealing coaches from this coach depot. At the time I didn't know what game it was. When I saw GTA 3 on the app store just after Christmas, I looked at my £15 pound iTunes voucher, and bought it in a heartbeat. And while cruising Portland in a stolen Mafia Sentinel, I came across the very same coach depot. And I realised that that game, was GTA 3.
Today, GTA 3 is quite frankly one of the best games I have ever played.

I swear i posted in this topic.
I was playing III on my Galaxy S II just the other day (I had to restart the game because my first SGS2 broke) and i watched the first cutscene, and i felt like i was 10 years old again, it was crazy, the nostalgia was epic. I remember when i first started, the noise of the cars, and the music, and the city, it was all so real! I did the first mission, then i just drove around doing what there was to do, i tried taxi missions, running cars off the road, jumps, everything you name it! It was a fast learning curve, i had never played anything like it. The radio, the sounds, the things the peds say, it all goes together so well! I spent so so so so so many hours on that game, certainly more than any game now, even all my MP hours on Black ops. I have spent whole weekends playing GTA III in the last 9- 10 years.
Man this reminiscing, it reminds me of San Andreas and VC so much as well....ahh the good times.

Before I played it, my brother told me about it and I imagined as wery realistic game with a lot of options. I even saw game in the dream before I saw it in real life.
When I got gta3 on pc it was perfect and looked like in dreams and imaginations.
I was bad at driving and mose controls, because I had pc for firs time. Before that, played games only on NES or SEGA in 2d, so seeing 3d game was amazing and when I saw all the options, it was just undescribeable.
It's worlds best game even now, because nothing can repeat those feelings an memories, what gta3 create.
