Unless, of course, you do not think such a feature would add anything worthwhile to the game, in which case, why the hell not? And don't say that fuel is somehow more "relevant" to GTA, because last time I checked you only spend about half of your playing time in a car while going through the story, and even then, it's not like digestion stops when you get in a vehicle. | Who cares about the story? If it was just about the story, I'm sure many people would've stopped playing GTA many years ago. Outside of the story, I tend to drive around exploring the map. Who cares about the story? If it was just about the story, I'm sure many people would've stopped playing GTA many years ago. Outside of the story, I tend to drive around exploring the map. | Way to nitpick the smallest part of my argument. That changes nothing. Like I said, it's not like your digestive system stops functioning when you step into a car.

| QUOTE (DeafMetal @ Sunday, Apr 15 2012, 13:58) | | No. I play games to escape from the daily routine of life. If I wanted this amount of realism, I'd put fuel into my own car. There's a fine line between fun realistic things and tedious, mundane chores. | It's not tedious nor mundane, though. Why should you have a health bar in game if you want to escape from reality? Why should sleeping and eating food restore your character's health? I see no problem with having to fill up gas. For those who have played Mafia, I think I had to fill up a gas tank in my car maybe a maximum of three times. That's all the cars in my garage and such too. GTA doesn't even store cars like you store them in Mafia, so it's likely that we might only have to stop at the gas station even less times in the story, though of course driving out into the woods and stuff will probably require some fuel. Regardless, there's absolutely nothing wrong with requiring fuel for the cars, not only as an added feature to make the game better, but in order to help drain money too. I don't think anyone had any problems at all with money in IV, and the stupid ringtones and phone wallpapers were not enough to drain cash.

There is a health bar, but your character doesn't stay dead forever. Yes, it's an escape from life and it gives the game some challenge. What does forcing the player to add fuel to his/her car add to the game? Apart from rage from the grand majority of people who just want to have fun? There are a COUNTLESS better alternatives to address the surplus of cash in the game. If it was something that could be turned on and off, then sure, as a part of a DLC or something; there are much more important things to code in. If you want this extremely mundane feature, then I would suggest you drive around more often or simply play Mafia 2. Putting it into a GTA game will ruin it for most of us.
