Would be pretty useless. Just steal another car. And don't even say "But some people have special cars they never get rid of!" It still wouldn't be worth it. A whole fuel system just for your one special car? Oh please. I hope you all cut your wrists and cry when GTA V doesn't have a fuel system. It just isn't plausible.

So tell me, i want it too but...if they put gas into gta V, they will need to put it not only for cars but also for boats and planes...

But yeah, would be awesome if you had to parachute of the plane cause it ran out of gas biggrin.gif

I might revise my "Only if optional" stance if the fuel system in mafia II doesn't annoy me, because I just got it used and am playing through it now. I still think fuel should only be optional though. Mafia II is pretty small and linear, so systems like that work better for games like that.

fuel on GTAV will be a sh*t idea, it may sound cool but it will be sh*t, we want better graphics, big maps to explore, good cars and other vehicles, maybe planes.

Now i know it's not the same but how about roleplaying filling up your car ? What i mean is theirs no fuel in v but if you want you can stop at a servo and fill you're car up for the fun of it ? Onestly if they ever add fuel that's how it should be done. For fun ! If they did it that way i might even fill up once in a while.

I don't not want it forced on me

in Mafia 2 I had a single car that you get at the beginning, i used it to get to all my missions and it didn't run out of fuel before the end of the game. With realistic size fuel tanks and consumptions most cars can do between 200 and 1000 miles on a single tank, so it wouldn't be that bad. Even if you jacked a car that was in the red on the fuel gauge you would still be able to do about 20/40 miles on it because the gauges always under-read to give the owner adequate time to find a petrol station. The only time you are likely to jack an empty car is when the owner is pulling into the petrol station anyway.

Considering that Liberty City is probably (i don't know for sure) a couple of miles tall, that would mean that even if you started when the fuel warning came on, you could drive up and down the city 10-20 times before it ran out.

if you didn't use this (re fuelling) till the end of the game, then what's the point of it?why waste disk space when you could improve other stuffs.

i still like this feature but if its included or not, that's up to R*

...So, good sir, please join me on my quest for full excretion simulation! Unless, of course, you do not think such a feature would add anything worthwhile to the game, in which case, why the hell not? And don't say that fuel is somehow more "relevant" to GTA, because last time I checked you only spend about half of your playing time in a car while going through the story, and even then, it's not like digestion stops when you get in a vehicle.

Who cares about the story? If it was just about the story, I'm sure many people would've stopped playing GTA many years ago. Outside of the story, I tend to drive around exploring the map.

Way to nitpick the smallest part of my argument. That changes nothing. Like I said, it's not like your digestive system stops functioning when you step into a car.

This would be pretty neat. It certainly wouldn't brake gameplay in any way.
In mafia II you almost couldn't fell this kind of feature was included. You needed to go at least 30 minutes at high speed to run out of fuel.

People complain that car washes are pointless because everyone switches out their cars before they need to be washed, but then shoot down fuel. A majority of you would probably not even have the same car long enough to run out of fuel. Mind you, I don't really care if fuel is added or not, but I find this a bit funny.

As for gas stations having a use, they should do it like Midnight Club LA you go to the gas station to refill your Nitrous oxide(this is assuming NOS makes a return to V)

No. I play games to escape from the daily routine of life. If I wanted this amount of realism, I'd put fuel into my own car. There's a fine line between fun realistic things and tedious, mundane chores.

It's not tedious nor mundane, though. Why should you have a health bar in game if you want to escape from reality? Why should sleeping and eating food restore your character's health?

I see no problem with having to fill up gas. For those who have played Mafia, I think I had to fill up a gas tank in my car maybe a maximum of three times. That's all the cars in my garage and such too. GTA doesn't even store cars like you store them in Mafia, so it's likely that we might only have to stop at the gas station even less times in the story, though of course driving out into the woods and stuff will probably require some fuel. Regardless, there's absolutely nothing wrong with requiring fuel for the cars, not only as an added feature to make the game better, but in order to help drain money too. I don't think anyone had any problems at all with money in IV, and the stupid ringtones and phone wallpapers were not enough to drain cash.

No! Good God leave this sh*t out, it would be pointless, painful, pitiful, useless, superfluous, out of character, irritating and generally add little of note. Want to worry about how much fuel your car has? Drive around in real life. Just don't start shooting any hookers, not advisable.

There is a health bar, but your character doesn't stay dead forever. Yes, it's an escape from life and it gives the game some challenge. What does forcing the player to add fuel to his/her car add to the game? Apart from rage from the grand majority of people who just want to have fun? There are a COUNTLESS better alternatives to address the surplus of cash in the game. If it was something that could be turned on and off, then sure, as a part of a DLC or something; there are much more important things to code in.

If you want this extremely mundane feature, then I would suggest you drive around more often or simply play Mafia 2. Putting it into a GTA game will ruin it for most of us.

You never had to fuel your car in Mafia or Mafia 2 really. The only time it ever came into play was if you stole another car and it had no fuel it in while running from the police. It actually made things fun because you'd wonder before you stole a car if it'd be your getaway ticket or you'd even make it down the block.

My point is that it didn't impact on the game play very much and certainly didn't break it.

I would enjoy it because it would add the the ownership of the vehicles that i like and provide more things to watch out for when cruising / racing / getting a huge wanted level.
