Oh yes its back.
QUOTE
True Crime: Hong Kong is an upcoming video game currently being developed by United Front Games and will be published by Activision. This is the third installment and a reboot of the True Crime series, and is the first not to be developed by Luxoflux, largely due to the fact that company went defunct in February 2010. The game takes place in Hong Kong and focuses on an undercover operation to infiltrate the Triads. It was set to be released on November 1, 2010 although the release date was changed to Q2 2011. The game is going to be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Microsoft Windows platforms.

True Crime: Hong Kong, like its predecessors, focuses on a police officer attempting to bring down criminal factions. The game takes place in Hong Kong with players assuming control of Detective Wei Shen, an officer of the HK Triad Bureau. Wei has been assigned to go undercover and infiltrate the Triad organization called Sun On Yee. The plot focuses on the moral struggle of Wei to stay true to his mission and stop the Triads while maintaining his cover and being as much like the criminals as possible, similar to the central conflict of Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Rumors have surfaced that Nick Kang, the main protagonist of the first game, will make an appearance.

I also think there was already a topic on this, but whatever.

It looks impressive enough, but I remain extremely skeptical. I was afraid Hong Kong would be a bad choice, because it's straying from the regular formula, but after seeing the demos I was very impressed.

I just hope we aren't grounded like in the previous TC games. For the most part, the demo shows some awesome scenery, the huge skyscrapers and views, etc. It would be a shame if we couldn't see those while actually playing the game. I remember that in NY, you couldn't even look straight up, the maximum angle was about 50-60 degrees, so I hope that changes.

TRUE CRIME HONG KONG COMPARE GTA IV
I think there was a topic before it but owell

I can't wait till this is release, if you think about it, LA Noire you play as a cop and True Crime Hong Kong (of course) you play as a cop, good competition but I think LA Noire releases way before True Crime:HK

As long as they concentrate on fixing all the major bugs that spoilt the previous titles, then this could be a winner.

Looks like a decent game
Graphics are okay, even on the 360

If you aren't too much into the gaming scene, Bobby Kotick means nothing to you.

Also, I dont think it will support 1080p. On consoles at least. sigh.gif

Just got Streets Of LA not too long ago (Yeah, I know, I'm probably the only person still buying games on the PS2 lol) and I really like that game so I hope this one is just as good or better.

I'm steering clear of New York, though. I heard that one was ultra glitchy and pretty much killed the series up until now.

New York is probably one of the worst games I have ever come across. LA is fun at first, but will get boring after a while, trust me.

I remember playing Streets of LA and being thoroughly disappointed. The city was just dead, no atmosphere, sh*t soundtrack etc. And the story was alright... until well it got worse than any GTA or even Saint's Row silliness.

And from the looks of that video, well it kinda looks the same... sparsely populated and not many cars, maybe a wee bit more atmosphere though.

Though the fighting system entertained me, and in this video for the new game it looks reminiscent of that old Jet Li game for PS2 which I loved.

But I really cant see it being the next best 'sandbox' game. I mean c'mon its Activision.
