I've never quite got the appeal in Dubstep, which is odd as I listen to a lot of IDM, breakcore, gabber and more industrial-influenced drum n' bass. What is it about dubstep that appeals to you?
Its usually got the crazy bass I so enjoy and a bit more of a laid back (but also darker) feel about it than some other styles. Though that doesnt mean I dont enjoy jungle as well. Everything that sounds good is great in my book.

It's hard to answer a question like this.
I like dubstep because it 'clicks' something inside of me. I think that it's the same for everyone with any genre pretty much. You can't really pinpoint why you like a particular genre, you just do .

I've picked up the latest Black Sun Empire album, which is a 50/50 split between techstep and dubstep (alternating tracks, basically) and I'm actually quite enjoying it. It seems to be a little more clinical and technical than most other dubstep I've heard, but it's pretty damn good.

Saw Flux Pavilion a few weeks ago, one of the most awesome things I've done in my life. Datsik's playing tomorrow tonight, but I'm away so I'll miss it

Can anyone identify this for me please? It says Dubstep in the title of the video so that's what am guessing it is, mixed with bassline:
It's not dubstep, I wouldn't say. Too fast, for one, too beat-driven. No "wobble" or dirty synths. Seems rather like mildly cheesy hard house to me. I must say I'm rather getting into dubstep, or more specifically "neuro-dubstep". Less of the traditional "wobble", no vocals to speak of, just dirty industrial/neurofunk influenced synths and ambience instead, with a sh*tload more distortion on the 606/909 kicks. Like these:

I don't think this really merits it's own topic since of it's a sub genre or electronic music.
Might aswell share instead of just bitching. Skrillex - Scary monsters and nice sprites Noisia remix. The drop isn't really even music.
Question: Who else absolutely hates dubstep comments on YouTube? Yeah we get it you switched to your porn tab, pick a number. No they did not drop this on Hiroshima and the police did not ask you to turn the volume up.
I love dubstep, but also drum n bass. I go to alot of nights with my mate who provides visuals for the events. Some recent ones have been for Dub Police (Caspa, Emailkay, Matty G, ect), Rusko, Doctor P, Flux Pavillion, theres loads more just cant think atm. Being a DJ myself its interesting standing a few meters away from the likes of Rusko while he rinses out his set, the man, in reality, is also a nutter!.
Some of my current favorite dubstep has to be by Skream, the man is a dubstep don. But the scene is on fire in the UK at the moment, and dubstep is bigger than ever, so i dont like to limit my likings to only a couple.
You also have not heard dubstep properly until you have heard it on a proper bass heavy, PA club soundsystem!

It is a dubstep track, it conforms (production wise) to everything that dubstep is, the musical keys and notes and the arrangement are all of a tell tale dubstep track, it does sound like its on the dubstep/garage borderline, but seeing as dubstep evolved from garage it is only natural really.
Alot of people think dubstep is only dubstep when the tracks have that have the trademark LFO mid range bassline, this is not the case.
Its more of a liquid dubstep though, was quite a big dubstep tune when it was realeased, i have it on vinyl somewhere.
The track is by Rusko, and is called Hold on.
Heres a few tunes that i have in my collection, ive a few banging dubplates but im not putting them on youtube, strictly for the clubs.

Saw P Money last Friday, sh*t was damn near insane. When the DJ started to play bass cannon towards the end it got so insane that the fence got pulled a meter backwards by the crowd!
Next Saturday Skism is playing, can't say I've heard much of him but from what I've heard so far he's f*cking gold.

i never liked dubstep before but smoking weed with people who do is getting me into it. I only like the heavy, dirty stuff though, which is how I always like my music.
