First of all I apologize if there is already a thread like this.

Well anyways I was thinking about how safehouses have been pretty limited so far. You can only park 2 cars regardless of the safehouse and only cars (helicopters are pretty hard to park).

The only safehouses we've seen this generation have been given to you. Also before, you could only have purchased already built safehouses.

Well here are some of my ideas:

-Beach safehouse where you there could be a tent over the water where you can park a boat or two (a water garage). There could also be a landing pad (like a few of the houses in Alderney in GTA IV) where you can park a helicopter.

-I understand that GTA 4 had an urban setting but there should definitely be a garage to park your car in GTA Next. Otherwise stupid taxi drivers nudge your cars out of the parking zone and you lose them if you reload the game.

-If you are too far from your safehouse but have a really rare car there should be parking garages where you can pay to keep your car for a certain amount of time. The location would be added to your radar and you can pick up the car later.

-If there are apartments/condos, the balconies should be accessible. This would also give you a killer view of the city if its a high-rise in the downtown.

-The ability to save weapons and ammunition in your safe house. E.g. if you have an AK 47 but want to buy an M4 then you can "dump" the AK and then purchase the M4. This way the money you spent on the AK wouldn't be wasted (I realize in GTA 4 that if you buy a weapon from a category and then buy another weapon from that same category the ammo is carried over but this is a bit of a spinoff of that idea)

-Well this idea is a bit of a novelty but anyways: you can buy a safehouse one day and wait a few weeks (in-game) for its value to increase and sell it for a higher price.

-Also, renting out a safehouse as an alternative income would also be a welcome addition

-And of course, the ability to buy safehouses (which I really missed in GTA 4)

A fallout shelter in someone's basement that they are renting out, but you unlock it for full purchase through one of their friends. Contains a bed, a fridge, a TV, and an ammo cache with whatever unlocked weapons you have. The main colour is grey concrete, being a fallout shelter and all. There is also a small section with a microwave and a large shelf full of dehydrated beef stew, and another full of bottled water. There is also a protected garage in a basement-like area with thick, sliding doors so you can cruise the irradiated wasteland of the paranoid future in style.

Here's an idea, let's say that at some point in the game the protagonist loses everything. He's at rock bottom with almost no cash, no properties, no friends. What would be the best safehouse? A car of course!

In the past we had the Scumhole Shack, but what if you had an abandoned car in a bad area that you could sleep in when you wanted to save? The tyres would be gone, having been stolen years ago, and throughout the game you could see windows get smashed or vandals write stuff on it.

That would be the absolute bottom rung of the ladder.

Using a car as a "safehouse" is a really good idea regardless of whether or not you're broke/homeless.

It'd be nice to finish a mission, then curl up in the backseat of the car for a nap and save the game.

What about tents, caravans, trailer-tents, motor homes, sleeping under the stars, sleeping over at any of your friends/girlfriends houses, and for those special nights, a range of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 star hotels? Plus car and safehouse of course.

The back of a rundown truck would also be good with a rotten old matress and a few tables and chairs + The back could be opened and closed by pressing a few buttons

Some crappy motels you can book a room with would be great. There's this old urban legend about just such a place.

A guy goes to a motel, he's visited often before with numerous hookers, and this time thinks he'll stay long enough to check out the TV. He notices they've got a lot of porn movies and so he checks one out. He's quickly horrified to find a crude video of himself giving a whore the Hugh Grant Special. It turns out that the Motel room was filled with a variety of hidden cameras and the owner was a sick voyeur who got off on making porn movies without the knowledge of the actors.

Imagine if you stay in a motel and bring a hooker and then, upon another visit, you find your own face on the cover of a porn video. Or even finding a fake wall with a pervert sitting behind it. That sh*t would be downright freaky. But I love the idea of running these kinds of risks when you use the worst safehouses.

At some point of the game we need a huge mansion. IV could have had it in alderney but no. IMO vice city had the best one with the body armor+m4 ammo in the basement and the helicopter and the boat. And the fact that you were able to actually use it as your fortress against cops. And you had bodyguards

LOL Anyway, with all these ideas on this forum I think the next GTA should be finished in about 2025.

If we have another set in Liberty City, a simply stunning penthouse is a must. On ground level, we could have a drive in underground garage with 6 parking spaces. You enter the lobby which is full of the rich and famous, perhaps with a few interesting BoGT esque random characters. The receptionist could be someone you know, just to make if feel even more like home.

Then you step into the elevator that whizzes you up to the top floor. Stepping out, you enter a plush pad of unimaginable luxury. Huge open plan living space, collosal TV, massive kitchen (if you don't fancy saving your game to replenish health you can always eat something) shiny walk in closet (always thought those big marble cuboid ones which split open were pretty neat) and a walk in armory too.

This first floor would be huge enough, but you then go up some ultra modern glass staircase onto the top floor. Perhaps an indoor swimming pool, games console, more bedrooms and a massive, breathtaking vista of Liberty City. A balcony and maybe some rooftop garden or something (jacuzzi anyone!) and finally on the roof itself, a helipad for saving your favourite airborn vehicle.

I like the idea of having a motorhome or sleeping in the back of a car. I also like the idea of crashing at your girlfriend's house if she's home. But we need some big ass mansions.

You know, something with 19 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a driveway that fits 10 cars, another 10 car garage, an Olympic sized heated pool, 20+ acres of land, and a couple of slutty maids. Maybe even a club with a full bar and strippers included.

I also think we need to see your own private airport to hold small planes and helicopters. And maybe a marina where you can store boats.

YES! I wanna have my own Verdant Meadows again, plus my own marina with my own yacht, I loved this in SR2!
