Yeah but, Vercetti sounds very Italian.

Tommy Vercetti is Italian (as he was working for the Sindacco Family, a mafia family, and as everyone knows, the mafia are a band of Italians (apart from the Russian Mafia)).

Ray Liotta, while his name second name (Liotta) seems Italian, is American, if the information you gave us is true (didn't really care about knowing Tommy voice actor).

GTA Wikia reckons he's 3/4 Italian. I don't remember however any mention of his parents.

I reckon Vercetti is only half Italian - possibly on his father's side - and that when the Forellis discovered this it prevented Tommy from becoming a Made Man, thus leading to them needing to kill him rather than tell him he cannot be accepted into the family.

Plus, Tommy always shouts "Blame my mother - I do".

But Tommy said that he was part of the family. Beside he spent only 15 years inside, which would be strange if he wasn't a made man. I believe he was full italian, but born in US.

I always though he was from Southern Italy. There people have slightly darker skin but and Italian names :-)

GTA Wiki is full of sh*t, most stuff that you didn't hear in the game and is mentioned in their articles is not based on evidence. Just look at all the bullsh*t it says about Tommy's parents, it's all made up.

Definitely Italian. People forget or simply don't know that Tommy used to work for the Forelli Crime Family back in Portland, Liberty City. He had just got out of prison for being the "Harwood Butcher" from the multiple murders he committed. Probably was a made man in the Forelli Crime Family, and seeing as you have to be full Italian to be an official member of an Italian crime family, he is/was definitely Italian.

Of course. I'm not saying that he was a made man during the Harwood Butcher incident. I meant that he probably was made right after he got out in '86' at the age of 36. I couldn't see Sonny Forelli sending someone as low as a 'family associate' down to Vice City to secure a million(s) dollar drug deal.

His main nationality is definitely Italian. One of the quotes Tommy sometimes says if you pick up a hooker is "I'm an Italian, do I get a special rate?" and there are one or two others similar to that.

Anyway he's Italian, at least a good part. I don't really see why any more speculation needs to occur.
