QUOTE (GTAvanja @ Thursday, Aug 23 2012, 07:18)
An anarchist running a court? No chance. He'd have a much bigger role in things.

I don't know, Bane was the main villain in DKR. I think Joker running the kangaroo court could have had an interesting sub plot. He was all about chaos after all.

To each his own though.

EDIT: The more I think about, the less it sounds like a good idea. Joker would have definitely tried to overthrow Bane at some point. I mean, even though Joker was the one that corrupted Dent and Bane released the truth to the people, I really don't see them two on the same playing field. Bane likes control and Joker likes chaos. They would be enemies for sure.

Indeed, Joker is a nutter. He has no motive, he just loves big explosions, a big mystery, and an entertaining story that he likes to tell. I like the fact that in the comic books and even in the film (TDK) there is no straight story to his background, he says about his father, he says he has a wife, he says that he had a child, then in the comic books he mixes those stories around. The Joker is a sociopath, and a very f*cking crazy guy.

On that note, if Heath was still alive. I could really imagine the Joker being in the "Death" or "Exile" part of the story in TDKR. I can actually imagine it right now. With his whacky laugh and his unorthodox behaviour biggrin.gif.

Extra note to add, R.I.P. Heath, you had so much ahead of you man.

haha, yeah I can see Joker trying to explain to Crane why he's innocent. He probably does something that opposes Bane's rule. I imagine Joker walking around presenting to the court that he's really not crazy ("No, I'm not") and giving a really funny speech about Bane. Crane would probably shake his head and just have him locked up in a padded room somewhere. I think keeping him alive and under control would be alot more torture.

And yes, RIP Heath. Such a shame. sad.gif

If I was Nolan, I'd have had Bruce hallucinating about the Joker, the same way he did about Ra's. That would have been cool.

I doubt Nolan would even have Bane in the movie if Heath was alive. Or maybe it would be Bane vs The Joker fighting for control over the city. And of course Batman vs both of them. I can imagine The Joker killing Bane and stealing the nuclear bomb and then who knows what would happen. Maybe The Joker would finally die. Maybe Blake would be the one to kill him.

Joker as a judge wouldn't work at all. Even though a kangaroo court is obviously not real "order", it still represents the system and lies that we tell ourselves everyday. The Joker's entire motivation was the do away with all the bullsh*t and lay everything bare, he wasn't necessarily creating chaos and amoralism out of nowhere, but simply uncovering the craziness that everyone is capable of (at least, in his head, that's what he was doing).

Isn't that exactly what Bane succeeded in doing ?. Besides even in Joker was in TDKR I doubt he'd be feuding with Bane, he'd be having to much fun.

I doubt Nolan would even have Bane in the movie if Heath was alive.

Apparently his first choice was Di Caprio as the Riddler. I love the Riddler, but I still think he did a better job with Bane than he could have with Nigma. The Riddler couldn't have done to Gotham what Bane did, IMO.

As for Joker, yeah, it's easy to see him in the riot-esque environment that Bane creates, but I can't quite put my finger on what his final fate would be.

I might as well leave my comment... I love all Batman movies, of course, but this one was a little dragged out. Or, I was just in a shi**y mood... Although I thought it was a great, it seemed as if it took to long... Great storyline though...

Indeed it felt long, but funnily enough I also felt like it could've been much longer to my own enjoyment.

In all honesty I felt if Nolan didn't make this film I would be ok with that. To me nothin' was accomplished in this tale.

Except for the fact that the story went full circle and every major character got the closure they deserved. And that's awesome.

An interesting cameo in TDKR.

I noticed that too! Yeah I thought that was pretty cool.

Great movie, but not as good as the first two.

It was a good end to the trilogy. I liked it. Doesn't beat the second part though. Joker is the legend. RIP Heath Ledger.

I like the Man of Steel trailer as well. Waiting for a thread to pop up with a sonic boom.

Joker was just a mad dog. tounge2.gif At that point Bruce believed that Bane was Ra's son. It only made sense for him to have hallucinations about Ra's.

If the guy who played Bane died right before the movie came out, everyone would praise Dark Knight Rises and call it the best in the series

Heath Ledger's death has nothing to do with how good TDK is as a movie. Dead or alive, Heath Ledger's performance is unarguably one of the best I've ever seen. He was a chameleon actor, just like Gary Oldman. Gary Oldman's performance is also perfect.
And also, it's the f*ckin' Joker. The very idea of his character is far more interesting and has more to offer than Bane. In any version of Batman universe.
