Maybe I discovered an alternative method to steal the Skylift during single player in TBOGT. After reading in other posts that it was impossible to steal it in the mission "Caught With Your Pants Down" by Yusuf, I got surprised, because I got it from there and not with XTREME0235's method. It seems no one knows it yet, so here it is.

Play again the mission "Caught With Your Pants Down". Get in the car and drive to Star Junction, where Yusuf will land with the Swift. Then get into the heli and fly as fast as you can towards Broker Bridge. Land safely over the FIRST PLATFORM/PYLON of the bridge (the western one) and get out of the heli.
Now comes the difficult part. Wait for the Skylift carrying the APC. It will pass right over the Broker Bridge. The windows are indestructible, so you can't shoot the pilot. As it starts crossing the river, take out your sniper rifle and shoot it 5-6 bullets (I don't know if it's strictly necessary). When it is near enough, take your AA-12 with explosive bullets and shoot the Skylift. You must destroy it exactly when it's over your head. If everything was done correctly, the mission will fail and the Skylift will start falling towards SOUTH. Keep the Skylift in sight as it crashes. If it ends its flight to the north, you destroyed it too later.
This part requires MUCH luck, but after a maximum of 6-7 times you'll always have success. Remember: the Skylift must be destroyed exactly above your head, then it should fall towards south, and if this happens it should touch the ground on the street, in front of the Pier 45.
After this, Luis will be spawned on the heli pad with Yusuf and the mission will totally fail. At the very beginning of the cut scene (in the first scene), you should see the Skylift exploding in front of the Pier 45, in the background. SKIP THE CUTSCENE as you see this. Then turn the player 180° degrees, facing the Pier 45. Keep the Skylift on your screen and reach it.
Ok, we have a giant, destroyed helicopter... guess what? Use the cheat of the APC tank and also prepare the cheats to remove the police attention and for healing (to repair the APC if it gets damaged by its rockets). Then, use the APC to push the Skylift to Niko's apartment; to make it turn, shoot some rockets to the front of the heli. Beware police and don't blow yourself up! The path isn't difficult, just two turns and then all straight on. Park two wheels of the heli in the parking lot, go away and save the game. Pray God, go back and... here is your Skylift.

Ok, this method seems pretty tricky and masochist, but could be very helpful for:
1) PS3ers, who can't get the Skylift with XTREME0235's method, because the fix doesn't allow it;
2) people who saved the game with more than three cheats on their phone and now can't use XTREME0235's method;
3) people who suck at flying helicopters (like me! ) and can't get the Skylift in "For The Man That Has Everything", tired after playing the mission 20000 times without result.

This was done on XBOX360 (EFLC), but I'm sure that it will work on PS3 too. I had success twice after two days and 13-15 attempts, so, it isn't impossible after all.
Please please please don't curse me if I did any mistake. Oh, and sorry for my bad English.

I would also be glad if someone who owns a PS3 checks if it works.

At least now there is hope for PS3 players to finally obtain the good ol' bird (Skylift)

I am quite glad you found this method out as i hate disappointing people by saying that it may be impossible to obtain it on the PS3 version due to all the complaints about it with no luck.

This would be far more difficult, because you must destroy the Skylift exactly while it passes over the western pylon of the Broker Bridge. Otherwise, it would crash too far from the point where you're spawned afterwards and disappear.
Also, if you use an Annihilator you'll have to be careful not to fly too far from Yusuf's Swift, because this will make the mission fail.
Anyway, give it a try.

I'm gonna attempt this, both with the regular method and Henning's Annihilator method, I'll leave feedback on wether I have luck doing this or not. And also, great discovery!!

EDIT: So far I can say that the sniping is not necessary, just the explosive shotgun does the job. I've had it land on the road in front of Pier 45 a few times now, but it always disappear. I'll keep trying

Wait, the Skylift can't be obtained using the existing strategy (the one where you spawn an Annihilator at the end of the subway theft mission)? I didn't know that. That'd kinda be important to know for my guide, if I can get any confirmation. Specifically, I'd like to know WHY it won't work there.

As for this strategy, I'll check it out and see how it works.

"I tried 3 times today on the PS3 version, and 2 times I got it absolutley perfect, spawned the annihilator as fast as possible and was in the air chasing the Skylift faster than the tutorial videos, and both times I saw it disappear into thin air (and it didn't disappear and appear quickly like it's supposed to). So I think I can conclude that this has been patched for the PS3 version which is a damn shame since I really wanted to fly it, but oh well I have the 360 version of EFLC as well so I'll try obtaining it there, I'll provide further feedback soon!
EDIT: I'm able to get it easily on the 360 version now, and still can't get it on PS3 even thou I do it much faster on the PS3 version, so I can pretty much conclude that it has been patched... damn shame..."

As you can read, it seems that it has been patched for PS3. Someone else could tell you what kind of patch it is, I don't know much about it.

I am using PS3 Version, everytime the cutscene starts, there's no Skylift. Also when I get to where it crashes, it's still not there. Please help!

I would greatly appreciate a video tutorial on this as I've never actually tried to get the Skylift before because even when I skip the cutscene the Skylift has already disapeared.

I tried it Today with -MB-'s Method and the Method of Henning92.


I found out that the Method with -MB- works much better when u found out when and how to Shoot the Skylift so he Perfecly Starts Falling over ur Head to the left Pier45 (after the Building between Street and Building) and in the Cutscene i can see exactly how u was explaininn the Explosion (Smoke and Rockets) but the Skylift is gone.

I tried it about 30 Times or more and i found out something (happened a few times), when i shoot the Skylift like always and he Falls to the Pier 45 before he Hits the Ground he just Disappear BEFORE he Explode and 0,5 Seconds Later the Cutscene starts.


I think there is a Patch in some of the Missions Scripts of YUSUF (yusuf1.img , yusuf1cleanup.,img etc.) in the script.img for the PS3 Version.


With Henning92's Method with the Annhilator but i can't get it Near enough as with -MB-'s method.

But Fact is that sometimes when the Game may be laggy a bit the Skylift will disappear (or get deleted) 0.5 Seconds before the Cutscene starts.

EDIT: Maybe someone could make a Backup of his EFLC DVD XBOX360 Version and send me the TBOGT/DLC2/DLC/common/cdimages Folder.
so i could try to get it to work and could create a savegame or something.

PS3 USERS LISTEN UP!!
I have episodes from liberty city and am sorry to say that it has the patch already in the disc so that you can't get the Skylift, but here is some ways we can all work this out:

1. Am sure there is someone out there that has done this before in the ps3 before the patch, even if they mod the game, if they got the skylift and saved it then am sure they could upload their savedata online!

2. Some of the people who bought the game before the patch can go over to Game Data (NOT SAVE DATA) and delete the data from the game, that way the patch is deleted, nothing is lost from the story and when the ps3 asks to update they can refuse, get the skylift and save the game.

3. Also you guys seem to be doing this a little too early, think of this, the skylift passes though nico's house where you would save the skylift anyway, I have tried this twice and i might be able to get it to work, i recommend others try too, you can park yusufs helicopter on a building close to nicos house and wait for the skylift, get a buzzard and shoot it down and making it land in the save spot, you will have a burn skylift but it restores once you go back if it was done right, if the mission fails too quick then you can jump out of the chopper and the mission wont end until you hit the ground or die, this will give the skylift enough time to land (hopefully on the save spot)

Please is this works for anyone, please upload your save data, if anyone needs any help on doing this reply to me and if you already did it then reply to me anyways! Thank you.

You may not acces this post anymore, but i habe the eflc and i dont know if i have patched it or not.
I can delete but i dont know if it will work(it will be a lot of time wasted and still no obtainable skylift)
So i dont know, my eflc is the one that includes both tlad and tbogt.
Is there any difference between patched and no patched versions(like filesize or sumthing)
So, you may know the no patched size of the file installed, mine is 2814MB whats yours?
Please answer if you can.or ill delete the file myself and try to get this stupid chopper.
