| QUOTE (MagnAn @ Wednesday, Aug 29 2012, 08:39) | | QUOTE (Lightning Strike @ Tuesday, Aug 28 2012, 23:51) | | To me it seems that Bethesda have seen a mod that they like the look of slapped a fancy name on it and a price tag and are saying it's DLC. After the improvement in gameplay from Dawnguard I can really say that I'm disappointed with Bethesda. |
Except that it was the other way around, Bethesda showed a lot of ideas, including "Build your own home" and child adoption here. Which happened a long time before those mods were released. |
Not that I'm disagreeing with that, I'm just saying it seems to me as though they've been able to come up with any new ideas since Bethesda's Game Jam performance as all the DLC seems to be based off of them in some way or another. It also doesn't make sense why a PC Gamer would buy this considering that there are actually better house mods available then the one that they're presenting. | QUOTE (Slingaa @ Wednesday, Aug 29 2012, 08:39) | | How do you guys post Skyrim screenshots? I can't open the images or convert them for some reason... |
This doesn't work for me either, I had to download a program for video and images called fraps to be able to take them. If you wanted to be able to upload them on the forum just go to an image hosting site and upload the picture there. This post has been edited by Lightning Strike on Wednesday, Aug 29 2012, 10:55

After 400+ hours of total gameplay I just figured out that you can have hotkeys on console (xbox dunno about ps3). You can set 2 hotkeys. First off, favorite the item you want to have hotkeyed. Go to the favorite menu, scroll onto the item and hold left or right on the controller.
Anyways, do you have any ideas for interesting (roleplay) builds? My first character (RIP deleted by accident) was a battle(stealth?)mage Nord named Jericho. (most important skills were fire destruction, one-handed, smithing, stealth. The second is a Archer-Necromancer Bosmer (Archery, Conjuration, Illusion, Pickpocket). I also have two more but as you can see, I simply can't focus on one class like warrior or mage. I've tried to play as a pure warrior but I've deleted him after 5 hours of gameplay.
I need some variation in my next build. Ideas?

Not 100% sure about that but that seems more plausible.
And with a game THIS big, this expansive as it is as a standalone release... this is not a dirty or unfair tactic. This is a fair deal. You already have MORE than your 60 eurodollars money's worth with the vanilla game... |
The content in Gamejam was made after the games release, therefore it'd have been impossible for the modders to copy the code because it's not actually in the game - yet. I myself have been wondering about something recently, if you could add one feature to Skyrim what would it be.
I'm almost certain it'd be better than build your own home. I also think that Bethesda picked the wrong time to announce these DLC's, as I think if this was released before Dawnguard there'd be a lot more hype around it and Dawnguard has enough content to stand on it's own feet. This I'm not sure about. | Yeah? Oh because I remembered hearing them talk about how they'd organise a few of those jams at the end stages of development (before the game gone gold). Oh well...

Oh well... | The whole point of the Gamejam was that the team take the game away for a week after release and do what ever they want with it. They plan the event itself not the content.

I need some variation in my next build. Ideas? | You can actually have three hotkeys because pressing left or right a second time will revert you back to what you had equipped. What I'm rolling with right now with my Bosmer archer is an Elven bow of fire on one, an enhanced crossbow on two and the Dawnguard shield and axe on both one and two. so hitting right on the d-pad toggles me between crossbow/shield and axe, and hitting left toggles me between Elven bow/shield and axe. As for roleplaying ideas, off the top of my head, how about a Knight of Arkay. Orange hooded robes 2-handed greatswords, alteration, enchanting, restoration and staves...lots of staves. Btw don't go on the beth forums asking for RP ideas, they'll tell you to eat, sleep, piss and chop wood. When did roleplaying become about eating and sleeping? My Bosmer is currently moving his gear into Cracked Tusk Keep - Alchemy lab, grindsone, workbench, forge and tanning rack. Just had an almighty battle with three giant spiders and three vampires - Elidor and Faendal in Dawnguard armour it looked like something from the movie Zulu...Phew!

Knight of Arkay you say? I like the idea. Although I can't figure out what the character's motivations would be. I want to play as an interesting character. My most interesting characters so far were Tavari and Dante. Tavari is a wood elf grown up in Morrowind. One day, her whole village was destroyed by bandits. Three survivors made it out alive. Tavari's motivation was searching for them. She started out as a small-time thief in The Rift area. That's just the beginning. I could write a whole book about her. So much stuff happened. I've loved seeing her develop.
Edit: Alright, figured some stuff out. I simply can't play in your style man. I always plan my characters before starting them. I'm also coming up with backstories and such. Makes me more addicted to my fantasy characters. Doesn't mean that my character will stay like this forever. There will be twists and turns. Tavari for example ended up as the new Jarl of Rifton. Or should I say a military stronghold in The Rift?
Name: Petric Gender: Male Race: Breton Class: Knight of Arkay Clothing: Orange Robes, Boots, Gloves Rings & Amulets: Silver Ruby Ring, Silver necklace (both to be enchanted) Weapons: Nord Hero Greatsword, (A 2nd 2 handed sword of unknown material, will be self-smithed and re-named), Staves.. Main Skills: Alteration, Restoration, Enchanting, 2-Handed Secondary Skills: Smithing, Speech
