same here, it's really annoying if you've forgotten to save in a while. such as walking around for an hour and sudently it crashes and you've lost an hours of work.

usually I've been in a lot of houses, caves, ect ect so it tends to be just 5 min I have to get back. Still is annoying though yes.

So after a four month hiatus, I decided to pop in Skyrim again to keep me going until Borderlands 2 comes out next month.

I still have yet to finish the main quest and of course, I still feel like side questing like crazy. I'm just trying to get all 50 non-DLC achievements first before I download Dawnguard - only five to go.

Damn, I hate when the command sometimes work! I need to remove the Retrieval quest from the journal but SetStage or Quest completed (whatever, it's called) doesn't work. However, it works for other quests I have tried it on.

You're totally right about that. I played now 25 hours and I saved about 120 times.

I'm getting an AMD Radeon HD 7850 2048MB on Monday. I was recommended it by the guy in Aria PC for playing Skyrim on high settings. Is it good enough?

High yes, but if you're going to run Ultra then you can expect a considerable amount of FPS to drop.

My 'old' GTX460 1GB can render this game on ultra + mods without any problem, so you should be allright with this one from ATI. The saves are stored on local machine. Who knows what is stored in this damn cloud.
Does anyone know where to find the key to High Hrothgar? I think I have to go in there to move on to the mountains top but the doors are locked and can be opened only with a key.

Progress in the main quest, you'll eventually be called to go to HH.

Saves are saved to "Documents/My Games/Skyrim/Saves" on your hard drive but are also backed up on the Steam Cloud server every time you quit the game, so if you lose/delete your saves Steam re-downloads them.

This probably happens automatically once you log in. This is why I like to play offline, I don't know what the cloud/Steam is doing in the background. Subjectively it runs more stable when offline.

The main quest is split into several number of quests, The Way of the Voice is the one that sends you to High Hrothgar.

Bleak Falls Barrow
Dragon Rising
The Way of the Voice
The Horn of Jurgen Windcaller

These quests I posted above are only the act 1 of the whole story.

All you have to do is talk to Jarl Baalgruf in Whiterun. If you haven't already got an item from Bleak Falls Barrow you'll have to go back and get it. When you bring it back (or if you already have it) you will initiate a quest where you fight a dragon and absorb its soul.

About a minute after that you will hear the Greybeards calling you up to High Hrothgar. Go back to Jarl Baalgruf before you do to complete Dragon Rising, then start The Way of the Voice.
