Nah I would be shocked to the core if this was Mass Effect 3
You'd be shocked yet all info is being traced back to ME in one way or another. BioWare is hyping a futuristic shooter here, I think the fanbase would be disappointed if it wasn't ME, unless it was something truly amazing they're doing here.
The only thing that's putting me off is the guy's armor in the screenshot there. Doesn't look very ME-ish. Maybe a prequel?

I know the ME comparisons are bound to happen but I really wish they wouldn't. I'd love to see a fresh game come out of Bioware, allow them to create another whole new universe and yet another great narrative, they seem to have been stuck with ME and DA for a little while now (yes I know they're doing TOR) so a fresh IP from them would be fantastic in my opinion.

Personally I'd rather them finish off the Mass Effect trilogy before they move onto another big universe. But that's just 'cos I'm an impatient child when it comes to games I like.

Well they have said that ME3 will be the last game with Shepard, so there will be more ME after the 3rd one is done. Plus i don't think they will release this before ME3.

Well it wouldn't shock me too much if it is a new IP set in the Mass Effect universe. However this doesn't come across as ME 3 to me though so I would be pretty stunned if it is ME 3.
But the speculation around this info today has been crazy, I have seen people posting images of what look like hidden messages in the videos You have to take your hats of to Bioware they sure as hell know how to create hype from pretty much sod all. I really hope we do eventually find out what they were trying to tell us with those barcodes though.
Bioware! My favorite developers! Just glad that they are already working on something new at least.
Is it me or does that guy looks like a young Captain Bailey?
Meh been wanting Bioware to do a spin-off ME game based on Garrus time on Omega. Why would Garrus mention how his squad got killed and who were his members huh?

Given iron is the main component in steel, the number has led to speculation that the game in question is a reboot of Shattered Steel, BioWare's 1996 mech combat game.

What the f*ck is everyone's aversion to Mech games? There hasn't been a decent Mech game that I can think of since Mech Warriors: Lone Wolf on the X-Brick. A good Mech game would be absolutely amazing.

The BioWare project teased earlier today by Spike TV's Video Game Awards is not an early look at Mass Effect 3, according to a development source, but the multiplayer-focused Mass Effect spin-off currently in the works at BioWare Montreal.
That Mass Effect game is not a massively multiplayer online version of BioWare's sci-fi RPG series, but a game that's designed to appeal more to the Call of Duty market, according to that source. We're told to expect player progression in the vein of Activision's wildly popular online shooter along with some sort of single-player component that does not feature Mass Effect's Commander Shepard in a leading role.
Wow if its gonna be like Call of Doody than I've already lost interest in this. Which makes this the first Bioware game ever made that I won't be excited for.
