QUOTE (typicalgamer @ Sep 2 2012, 13:45)
how can we travel between islands(to fetch vehicles for export in Portland and Shoreside Vale) without using the "flying cars" cheat? The bridges and tunnels are unusable at this point.

It is evident that you are not an experienced player of this game, otherwise you would possibly know that the patch of the Porter Tunnel connecting Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale is free to use up until completion of "Last Requests". The same goes for LC's subway trains - as before "Last Requests" one can have free access to Shoreside via the Shoreside Terminal Station. The only true part is that both Porter Tunnel and LC Subway are inaccessible - but only from the Portland side.

Also, there are boats to be used to travel from Shoreside Vale to Staunton Island and from Staunton Island to Portland. Moreover, access to the Dodo on Shoreside Vale makes it available as means of transportation right from the beginning.

As about getting out from Portland itself - there are numerous ways to do so, most of which are covered around the Internet - so take time to search for them. Getting out from Portland is much easier on PS2 version of the game through the unsolid roof of Porter Tunnel - the roof was made solid on PC and Xbox versions.

This game has much to offer in terms of new experiences - so take your time and see what you can find within the world of GTA III! Good luck!

Arsen, did the Vigilante mission glitch on me again, because the stats in the topic say I have completed 0/20 kills. Or did you forget to update the number?

That was the error in lol232's Temporary Checklist, which he has corrected as of now. This error was not present in the Main Checklist.

But the main thing is, the in-game stats registered all 60 kills for Vigilante. So there is no problem with that.

Warning! Possible glitch found!

I was looking through the saves in the Ultimate Starter Save Round, just as a matter of interest, and I found a possible glitch that occurred during a turn of ZoomZoom.

This turn, taken by ZoomZoom, has the Taxi side mission completed. And although all 100 Fares were registered in the in-game stats and a Borgnine successfully appears at Borgnine Taxis, the 'Cash made in Taxi' graph value is 0. Which means, that ZoomZoom did not earn any money from any of his fares - but we all know it's not possible.

For now, this does not interfere with the gameplay, and I pray that it won't force us to revert up to the point prior to ZoomZoom's turn. But I would like to use this chance to warn ZoomZoom about a possible glitch in his copy of GTA III that may possibly cause trouble somewhere.

I've noticed that as well when I was playing, but he simply used a trainer to generate 100 fares. Nothing more. So no errors should pop up. I hope...

No comment... whatsthat.gif

If ZoomZoom was really using a trainer, that would explain why his would take only 17 minutes to complete. The second explanation would be him starting the turn before actually posting in the topic (miromiro style).

I also hope that this won't force us to go through the trouble of dropping off 100 more Fares for the game to count the Side Mission as truly done.

In the future, I want everyone to be at least sure about every trainer they use, if they can't live without it, so I won't be left sorting all this mess out... Not to forget that trainers are against the Rules anyway - and that is not because I wanted so, that is done to avoid any problems that can appear... I hope everyone understands.

I am under the impression that the Steam version is buggy. I was playing the game today (not for the Chain Game) and I blew up a bunch of helicopters and cars, killed a lot of people and my my criminal rating didn't update even after I lost my wanted level and saved.

Has anyone ever encountered a glitch like this before? Maybe it's my PC that's acting up, I can't tell.

Umm..no...No trainers were used during my gameplay and I can swear on it. I just downloaded the save and did the taxi missions and then I posted the mission turn post. That ain't illegal right? I checked my other saves and everything is okay in my original game saves..

But I can assure everyone that since I am a chain game player I don't use trainers..... smile.gif

That's not fair. You should only start playing the game after you've announced your turn.

Well, that can be risky, you know? I mean, someone will take a turn while you were doing your one, and it will be a pity that you will have to abandon it - especially if there were many things already done...

But yeah, this is not illegal. Anyway, keep a notice in the future - if this glitch pops up again, maybe you'll need to re-install the game.

Issue solved!

Thanks but no thanks. I never judge anyone without knowing the situation. At least now. Instead, I tend to solve the issues peacefully when possible - you'll see yourself this is the best way. So that is why I am like that! wink.gif

No. The purpose of this Round was to create an Ultimate Starter Save for GTA III. So technically, it is finished. But I still want to investigate into the ability of completing the last Unique Jump - that could be the final note.

Anyway, if we're done, there will not be any more Rounds. At least not until late in December. I'll be very busy starting from the next week, so it will be great to have this Round really finished by then.

Actually in the PC Version you can still use the tunnel to go to another island.

Is there a limit to how many hidden packages you can pick up in one save?

Nope, there's no limit. If you're a good player, you can pick all 100 of them in a single turn.

Warning! Save file glitch found!

It appears that I made a mistake in vehicle placement during the development stage, and now one of the Generated Vehicles (which had to replace the Stinger at the Staunton Island Safe House) is not spawning at all. The only way to remove this glitch is to start the Round over, with a corrected save file. Or, instead, we can continue without that vehicle ever appearing.

So what should best be done? It's all up to you... I'd choose the latter though.
