what part of what I said did not seem english I don't capitalise letters before every sentence on a bloody internet forum you know, I see that as excessive. | Typing properly makes it easier to respect your opinion - it shows intelligence, presentation, thought. Your typing could be so much worse, but nevertheless I always give well presented responses more time than I do miscombobulated garbage. Lack of capitalisation isn't that bad but you should consider fixing that because it isn't hard.

Ok thanks for the answer Zilcho, but I don't know why he mentioned language; capitalisation is about grammar really, except in the use of names, due to some names being the same as other nouns e.g. Files. Also if people don't respect someone's opinion based on presentation I see that as extremely moronic and prejudiced. As well as possibly racist; although not in this case. I say this because the people who think like that, like the people you mentioned, would not "respect their opinion" as much, and the reasoning would be essentially because they are from a different country; one that does not learn English as their first language. I can't see why it represents intelligence, to me that sounds like the bullsh*t arguement that cursing makes you seem less intelligent. Particularly with capitalisation, not so much with other aspects @ Original Light - I just type as fast as I can, usually do not proof-read and press submit. Later if I can be bothered I will go back and change spelling mistakes. If that means my opinion means less then, to quote LazyBoyEight (never thought I would do this) "f*ck logic" What I think is, as long as people can read what you put, it is fine, and last I checked capitalisation does not affect this, at all, except in certain cases like when somebody's name is spelt the same as another word in the dictionary like Files, Duck, Pepper. Anyone unable or unwilling to press an extra key can't be that smart, right? As for your point on presentation, this has nothing to do with race. If I throw a bunch of paper at you, upon which you find poorly scribbled and non-paragraphed text, you'll probably not think much of the person who wrote it, even if it is MacBeth. But well typed, formatted and coloured and you'll be drawn to it. If presentation shouldn't matter, then turn up to a job interview in trackies and see what happens.

Well I am unwilling. Presentation means nothing with regards to intelligence, presentation is simply window dressing. If I was to talk like I sometimes type then I would be in trouble I will agree there In an ideal world it would not, but say if someone comes on here from Hungary: English is not their first language, they type something in English and it is not perfect, you said that people will look down on that, and their sole reason for looking down on this person would be stemmed from the fact this person did not come from a nation that speaks English as their first language, there is no other way of looking at that other than the unfortunate r-word. If you did thrown a piece of paper at me, I would be like "Why did you just throw paper at me?" but if I read it, and it was bad handwriting or so badly spelt that I could not read it I would simply say to you "Sorry I can't read this." If it was non-paragraphed I personally would not give a sh*t I would read it regardless, it may take me a tad longer. I would not pass any judgement on you or anyone else as a person based on writing, it's just not who I am, plus I don't think it makes logical sense. Plus I should state that personally I don't care for Shakespeare a great deal, so if you threw MacBeth at me, I might give you 'the look'. Never said presentation did not matter at all, but I do think it matters too much, but that's the times we live in, and it was summed up perfectly by one person I went to school with who basicly used Gordon Brown's ugliness as a reason why people should vote Conservative, but I digress. Anyway this is an internet forum guv, if people care that much about presentation on an internet forum then to them I say "Get a grip." But since you asked nicely I will play along, for now. But I would not expect every post to be perfect, I am human. This post has been edited by NateShaw92 on Tuesday, Jul 24 2012, 20:04

| QUOTE (NateShaw92) | | only once ever (and no it was not titanic, I actually laughed at that ending) |
Haha, so I'm not crazy! I was laughing at the entire ending, even the people falling off the ship. It was a terrible tragedy in real life but the movie just showed it in a comical way.
So Is this thread going to turn into "What movie made Nate cry?" |
When I read that I thought "sh*t!" Then I laughed like hell as movie after movie was listed by him and lzw3
funny funny thread tangent - even funnier as none of them guessed right | AND HERE'S THE LINK TO THE THREAD!!! WOOHOO!!L

The fact is if you were prepared to put it in writing, in public, anywhere on GTAF you automatically agreed to being quoted here.
