Given that the pack I am thinking of is rare, I will pose the question here.

Has anyone ever compiled a car pack of light weight cars, like 1-2MB's at the MOST for each car?

With some graphics mods and old computers traffic bug is unfixable however I installed 6 modified stock cars and no problems what-so-ever. Which is promising. All vehicles were 600KB - 1500KB each.

NaidRaida's Gangstas rides are a fine example of this.

i saw a pack once the description said if i remenber well , file less than 200 Mo . which is i believe a nice performance . but it remained to see then if the quality was there . i'm a bit "paranoļac" of anything which is oversized myself and i couldn't get my vehicles.img to go under 299 Mo . the creator of traffic load said he could run the script with no problem with his 200 Mo file . but you see 200 Mo i pretty sure you'll have to cut or in quantity or in quality confused.gif

Absolutely right. With all my installations though, and I'm not claiming I have a good machine, it's a Q9550 OC'd to 3.3Ghz, 4GB's DDR3, 1GB GTS 450, if I replace even a few cars with nice Crown Vic taxi's (Chasez I believe) and a couple 4-6 MB cars, traffic is totally gone compared to stock cars.

I guess what I was hoping to accomplish was to change a few looks of the vehicles without changing the file size too much, to keep it a bit fresh. NaidaRaida's Rides have almost no perceivable impact on performance, yet look very, very different. smile.gif

Granted though, most modified stock cars would never stand up to a 458 Italia or 1970 Camaro Pro in terms of quality. icon14.gif

Well, theoretically this 1978 Ford Fairmont is going to be released soon in gta-unlimited.ru:

I'm looking very forward to it turn.gif

But yeah, in GTA SA, VC, Driver SF, there are some of these nice 60s-70s cars that should be converted to IV.

Well, at least is an everyday car, good for filling and adding realism. And doesn't look bad at all.
Yeah, the Impala, Caprice, Polara, Coronet, Monte Carlo, Bel Air... these classics almost everyone know is strange to not been already converted to IV. Seems now most modelers just want to make modern cars and super sport cars. sad, pretty sad I tried myself converting some of these classic cars, and then I understood converting isn't my strength...

I myself feel that we do need more current, everyday cars as well as old '70s and '80s cars.
Unfortunately if the car is from GTAUnlimited, I wouldn't get my hopes up that it would be released soon. Most of their work takes a long time to be released and some of their better cars never get released publicly, like Cyrax's 1967 Camaro or DMN's Volvo XC90.

Yeah, I was talking about their WIP for IV, but it seems that they're always releasing stuff for SA though.

Well....your question is kinda complicated. You said a lot of stuff that wasn't exactly relevant to your question and you also asked if a "classic" challenger would be practically after stating that you know it has bad mpg. Here are my ultimate suggestions: if you are going to get an old Challenger just get whatever you can afford but aim for an early '70s Rallye or R/T in whatever condition you can afford. As for their practicality they are not practical (like you stated).

This one doesn't seem to be as well made as the other cars that I've posted but it's pretty awesome nonetheless.

I think so, but I don't know what happened to him, he hasn't put anything in the WIP forum in a while now.
