QUOTE
Heroes of Stalingrad will take the award winning Red Orchestra franchise into the next generation of gaming. Cutting edge graphics and audio built on Unreal Engine 3, inventive features and streamlined realism will deliver an unrivalled WWII experience. Focusing on the Battle of Stalingrad and the surrounding operations, both German and Russian, from July 1942 to February 1943 the game allows the player to experience one of the most brutal battles in all of human history. For the first time ever in a first person shooter gamers will be able to experience WWII from the Axis side in a German single player campaign. As always with the Red Orchestra franchise, Tripwire will aim to deliver unrivalled accuracy and attention to detail, along with gritty, vicious combat in multi-player, co-op and solo modes. Again, Tripwire have listened to the fans and have designed a whole set of new features to make the game more accessible and easy to get into – all while delivering the tactical shooter realism fans of the original game loved.

We play as Krauts? Aaaaaawesome. Hope it's not all anti-Nazi from the very start, it would be schweet seeing young brave soldiers get worn down by the tides of war. Or something.

PC only, Tripwire Interactive were first a mod team that created this mod (Red Orchestra) for Unreal 2004. After that they made the full game also for said engine with alot of tweaks and updates.

As far as I know it wasn't a blockbuster but it did pretty well. They also made Killing Floor (a game more people might know and enjoy on these forums). Personally I wasn't really into Killing Floor (gameplay was great, design and the 'mutants' in general were just too damn lame).

And for the record: they plan to release this 'mod/expansion' for this title concerning the Pacific battles. Americans versus Japanese most likely.

Oh this looks fooking sweeet!!
Its on UE3, so graphics will be good. I love the idea of playing as Germans. I'm amazed a lot of WWII games haven't done that though.

WW2 (FPS) games can still be fresh, developers fail to make it fresh. If you do the beach landings a thousand times... if you do a Reichstag rush or just Berlin streetfighting constantly yes it does get old.

Really looking forward to this one aswell.

This is getting some praise on the Deus Ex boards because there'll be first person cover. Shame it's not coming to consoles

No one will give a damn because it's PC exclusive... I'm happy it's for once PC exclusive. And I'm really happy to see it's FINALLY a PC FPS game that also introduces some new and, as it seems like it, well working gameplay mechanics for a FPS game!

Must buy...

edit: Holy mother of god... when I thought they couldn't improve on their already f*cking innovative 'sniper rifle scope system'... they've just done it. Why are all the other f*cking games behind Red Orchestra? Only a couple of modifications use the exact same system Red Orchestra Ostfront uses. f*cking mainstream developers confused.gif.

Great to see there are still developers willing to spend all their time and effort on a decent PC game.

Definitely gonna have to pick this up, even if it were only to support the developers.

Every sane PC gamer should get this game eventhough they're not into FPS games. It would be a great sign supporting the developers because these guys certainly deserve the credit.

On top of that: expect a Pacific campaign 'official modification expansions' aswell for this game. It's being worked on!

This is what I'm really looking forward to. I hope it's free. I'd be mighty pissed if I had to be first-day DLC.

Are you kidding me?
It'd be great to see the Pacific Theater done properly.
I'm thinking maybe the Japanese side, what with playing the Germans in the other campaign.
And with this game's engine, it's bound to be beautiful.

Indeed PC gamers, support Tripwire Interactive and buy this game!

PC, check this out for more information on the Pacific modification, sounds awesome.

You don't know what you're talking about if you think this is comparable to 'Hour of Victory'.

I assume you have never played, heard or seen anything of Red Orchestra: Ostfront???

Nope. I don't know anything about this game. Except that it looks very promising with the Unreal Engine like Hour of Victory did, however that game turned out to be a train wreck. And considering that horrendous game wasn't even a pc exclusive I'm worried about this. Don't shoot me, only letting my thoughts run free.
