i replaced one object in gta 4,but why its appearing too high? before i replaced it i made sure that its the same size and everything as the original one :S
also when i'm pretty far from that place i can see old object not clearly(probably object caching for performance or something )but when i drive close to it it dissapears and i see mine in the sky confused.gif

This might be a problem with the pivot of the new object, that's not in the same place, what program are you using to export the model?
The old object problem is caused by the LOD model. This is a low poly version of the normal model, that's being rendered from far away. This is used for performance. To see which model is the LOD model you can use Shadow Mapper.

Heres what might help you have it in place , get zmodeller and import the old object's wdr into it than from 3ds max (i recognize you were modelling in it) and export that wdr from zmod as .3ds and import to max than resize and place your custom object so that it fits in place , also note i assume you used PrinceLink's Shadow Mapper that you must name your mesh to 0 and link dummies (green) named <objname>00 to the geometry mesh , if you fail to do so your object will keep disappearing when pivot is out of place!

Hope i have been of any kind of help to you! smile.gif
