| QUOTE (4 Bagger @ Wednesday, Jul 4 2012, 18:45) | | QUOTE (Waddy @ Wednesday, Jul 4 2012, 18:36) | RVP will go to City. |
Most probably but its not like City need him. It wouldn't surprise me however if he went to another country. | Bobby's been sniffing around him for a while now, so it wouldn't surprise me, just need to get rid of some of the dead weight like Manny Addie and Santa Claus. Tevez only has about 1 year to run on his contract anyway (I think) and no-one has asked yet so we'll probably let him go a free at the end of the season, probably so he's nearer to home... like Italy.
As for Rangers, just been told by a mate that Rangers would need a 80% yes vote next week from the Scottish Football League to be allowed entrance to the SFL even before before deciding which division they could be allowed into , if they don't it could be worse for Rangers as they would then need to apply to the Highland League or the Southern League.
That's worst case, although there could be a flip side which Rangers could explore, as technically they are no longer an associated football club they could still yet apply to the English FA to join the English system.

| QUOTE (El Zilcho @ Wednesday, Jul 4 2012, 18:09) | | QUOTE (fgcarva1 @ Wednesday, Jul 4 2012, 22:04) | Oh God, for a second thought that was real haha ^^
Anyways, Libertadores final match tonight for those of you who care about South American football. I'm not a Corinthians or Boca Juniors fan but it will be a good f*cking match and I'm watching it because winning or losing, Boca is bound to get into a huge fight with Corinthians players. They always do. In the 90's Boca players fought cops when they came to Brazil, and Corinthians has the most aggressive firm in Brazil so the game is bound to end in a huge brawl. |
My Uncles' a Corinthians fan so I might give it a watch if I can find a feed. | Yeah, I think you should mate. It's definitely an interesting match up with the 1-1 draw in the first leg in Argentina. Sao Paulo is gonna be crazy tonight with all the hopeful Corinthians fans invading local bars to look for their first Libertadores Cup. Anyone know what's up with this Rangers situation in Scotland? I've been seeing it on CNN but don't quite get what is going on with them. They were talking about other Scottish PL clubs not allowing them in due to 'financial difficulties' if I heard right. Apparent;y they're bidding for a D1 entry. As far as I was aware the Rangers were the best team in Scotland.

| QUOTE (fgcarva1 @ Wednesday, Jul 4 2012, 22:45) | Anyone know what's up with this Rangers situation in Scotland? I've been seeing it on CNN but don't quite get what is going on with them. They were talking about other Scottish PL clubs not allowing them in due to 'financial difficulties' if I heard right. Apparent;y they're bidding for a D1 entry. As far as I was aware the Rangers were the best team in Scotland. | In brief, Glasgow Rangers were owned by David Murray, there were rumors of financial irregularity, but they were taken over by Craig Whyte, there were lots of dodgy deals and 'creative accountancy' going on, anywho to cut a long story short they didn't pay a large Tax Bill, nothing unusual if you were an Italian team, but in Britain it's a no-no. So the HRMC (Taxman) called in the administrators and wound up Rangers as they couldn't arrange a way to repay the tax bill, Rangers reformed as a 'Phoenix' club, that is they formed a new company and bought all the old assets of the old club.
However as this was a brand new club they have no automatic right to take over the old clubs position in the League, so the rest of the Scottish Premier League clubs held a vote to allow this new club or 'newco' to take over their place in the league. They voted by a majority to say no, so therefore Rangers are not allowed in the Scottish Premier League, so they will now have to ask the Scottish Football League (Divisions 1-3) if they can join them. It is now up to the Scottish Football League Clubs to vote on whether to allow Rangers into the Football League and also whether or not to let them into the first, second or third division, or not even at all.
Now there has already a precedent set to 'relegate' a club to the Third Division as happened with Livingston a number of years ago, so the reality of Rangers being 'relegated' to the third division is a strong possibility.
As for Rangers being the best team in Scotland... not if Raith Rovers have anything to do with it.
