Still, they're going on with the 'mysterious' approach. Update of Portal earlier this week was also really REALLY odd. Just check out the steamforums Portal section. It's insane really :].

Eventhough Portal is brilliant and I enjoyed it alot... I'm more curious about Episode 3/Half Life 3 though. Curious about the story. Or maybe Portal 2 is actually going to expand and tell us more about the story behind Half Life/Portal (or in other words; Black Mesa/Aperture)...

This is the best bit of gaming news I've heard in weeks, possibly months. Portal's the only game I've played in the Half Life-iverse and it instantly became one of those titles that'll be in my Favourite Games of All Time for a considerable while. It was the best arcade game I've bought (I got the Still Alive version, as opposed to the OB version) on 360.

I can't wait for this second installment. But seriously, it's going to be tough to top the first one, and I don't think anyone was expecting a sequel. Going on valve's track record I think I'm happy that they won't screw it up like most unecessary sequels do to most series.

I can't belive it, I just can't belive it. I have my eyes stuck on my screen now. I just loved what they did whit Portal. I was starting to belive that Portal 2 will gona appear in a further future.
Gameinformer already showing something. HA! From that picture I see that this Portal 2 will gona go much deep in story from those leaves that I see there.
What a great news, this made by day.

Pretty sweet. I wonder what they have in store for us this time.

Maybe more info on the still shady Aperture Science Corporation, or find out what happened after we destroyed GLaDOS.

We already know that the cake is NO lie; all people who got Portal on PC redownload it if you haven't got it and finish it again... there is an alternative ending. You actually GET THE CAKE! You hear some sort of robot dragging you away and talking about the 'party comittee'.

Also: will we continue with Chell or not? Really curious!

I think it says something about assuming the party position or whatever, which was what you were meant to do in the original until you were almost killed and tried to escape or whatever

And considering it's going to be called Portal 2 and what happened in the update ending, I think Chell will be the protaganist again.

I saw the Game Informer cover on this earlier. Very excited about it, the original game was great, one of my favourites, although I still haven't played the new ending.

Just read the full product description:
QUOTE
Coming this holiday. Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007's Game of the Year and draws from the award-winning formula of innovative game play, story, and music that earned the original over 70 industry accolades. Features single and multiplayer co-op modes. The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game. The game's two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively

It's "couldn't care less."

I think I just jizzed... this sounds really f*cking good. But in the end, they should as I expect this game to be a 'standalone' game and NOT a 'game' along with the Orange Box.

But still, I'm really curious about the story. Though, it seems they're not really going to relate the story to Black Mesa/Half Life and more going for a 'seperate' story approach I assume. Though, it could also be Left 4 Dead styled. Main story about X but actually sharing the same universe, with subtle hints to the 'other game'.

But anyways, too much speculating. I hope someone will get some scans soon enough wink.gif. E3 will be good this year if most of the 'upcoming games' of this year will be represented!

Da, Valve did promise to be very good to PS3 users. There after programmers for the console.

Besides, you need a PC to truly enjoy this kind of game.
