Want to lose the cops in Algonquin, like on Elizabeta's coke mission or Packie's bank robbery?
Head for the pedestrian walkway that goes between the two lanes of the Algonquin bridge (the one with blue lights). Cops will not follow you and so long as you maintain your speed you should be able to outrun any 3-star wanted level easily.

Another small tip some people may not know: Niko can run much faster if he does NOT have any weapon selected.

When in a police chase at night, go to Grotti Cars. To get in, you will have to go in through the windows. Go upstairs and you'll find that the police don't go in the building. I done this once and shot the police as they came, then I jumped off the balcony and got into the police enforcer then had another car chase.

Also, when in a police chase, if you fly out of your vehicle or if you need a new one. Instead of going through the normal break the window routine which allows just enough time for you to be killed, run and shoot the window. This will allow you to quickly enter the car and drive away.

I always do this. It's a really good tip that saves a lot of time. Hopefully someone sees that and uses it.

If you hit LI(Left Bumper button) and then Left, Right, Up, or Down on the D-pad you'll quick select weapons. I don't remember what each one does. But I know one is for shotgun, one is for grenades, one is for Pistol, and one is for the SMG and Assault rifle.

you don't need to call 911 to fix the stalled car. you can just call any one digit number and it will start.

The place where you can play darts right before Masinette 9 (I might have spelled it wrong), you can pick up glasses and through them at the people inside but they won't take damage. Also you can knock down someone's coffee and throw it at them and it takes 1 bar of health. At the bowling place near golfing, the food court has french fries that you can pick-up. (These are in TBOGT and TLAD, I don't have GTA IV so I'm not 100% sure if it works there for the above).

Using LT or L2 instead of RT (R1) or A (X) as the breaks is a lot more effective and is less likely too make you skid no matter if you press it in completely or slowly apply pressure and it breaks quite fast aswell

EDIT: Not that effective for cornering may have too start turning a bit earlier using that brake system.

To add on to the post above. This is a good method but it is better to slowly apply the breaks. When you press the button in completely, the brakes will lock and it's harder to turn corners.

Ryan, i know thats true but for braking in a straight line like when your looking for a road and you are coming up too it going really fast the LT (L2) way doesnt make you skid or turn but i agree with gently easing them for when going around corners

i use both brakes when braking. when commin to a turn i will use the regular brakes to slow down then the hand brake to put the vehicle into a drift/slide. if you know how to use the braking system and gas, you can take turns at a good speed.

Probably already known, but you can press the fire button during a fall and shoot your gun rapidly. It's pretty funny with the explosive shotgun in BoGT.

I got one. Get a vehicle, anything except motorbikes, helicopters and boats. Head over to a place with big high differences, I usually go for highways. Now, find a "gap" on the side, like, a "hole" in the wall. Get 1 wanted level and park your car so that driver's door is at the edge. Watch as the feds are trying to arrest you but only succeeds by falling into their death.

Pretty fun trick, should make you laugh, atleast it did it for me . A couple of places you can try: Plumber's Skyway in Alderney has a few gaps. The highway in the island between Dukes and Algonquin have one gap at the south area.

Heres something...you all ARE aware of the silo big drum looking towers scattered around (especially in Aldernay around Tudor) that you can shoot/ram/blow up the wooden looking bases and they tumble down...old news...
if you hit them or when they are falling they sound hollow...so you wouldnt think to shoot them! Well shoot them anyway (upclose with bullets) and see what happens!
And shoot the water radiator/heaters in some of the savehouses.

Edit: Shoot the TV's too!

if u use one of pakies car bombs to blow the truck up you wont get a wanted level

The Infernus has no trunk. This was clear to me when I had a few frontal crashes. The hood never opens up.

Police are always dedicated. Sometimes to dedicated. Drive to an area with a road. Maybe an alleyway. Use the wanted level cheat [267-555-0150] and the cops should start coming toward you. Then use the wanted level down cheat [267-555-0100] and the wanted level should go down. The police still will come to your area and look around. They don't get out of their car but they will will drive to your area. This is because the game sets the pathway to for their car. But even though your wanted level is gone, the police still come to your area. It is recommended that you enter the cheats first then use them. This will mean you can get N.O.O.S.E. Enforcers to come. If they hit you, you get a 1 star wanted level. patrick.allen2007@gmail.com

Wheelie master -

most people accelerate and start their wheelie in the process. However, this isn't a good technique. You should have a nice steady fast speed going. Then lean forward all the way, and quickly pull back until you slowly reach the apex of the wheelie. You will find its both easier to execute and easier to maintain the wheelie at high speeds. Alot easier in TLaD with the Double-T.

Grenades while Driving -

If a cop, or a few, is right on your tail. Simply hold onto the grenade a little longer until its right about to blow (the HUD icon of the grenade will blink faster). this will take out the 5-O tailgating you. if you dont hold onto the grenade it'll be thrown and it'll detonate far after the cops pass over it.

Drunk Driving technique -

Instead of correcting your innebriated driving by compensating for the turns. Rapidly go from left to right with the left thumbstick and you should keep a straighter line.

Death Camera -

If someone shoots you dead, the screen will turn to black and white and you'll only have control over the zoom and rotation of the camera. but if you dont rotate and just zoom in it will be centered on the person who killed you. perfect if you keep dying and dont know where the bullets are coming from. (not sure if this is in IV, but it is in TLaD & TBoGT)

It will beep when its bout to go off, gets faster the less time u got
