No, the 'i' and 'se' in all engine sizes did not have one. Only the 325 sport, 318 sport came with one.

I might be wrong, but fairly certain that's the crack. I know for sure my 4doord 316i and 326i definatly didn't, you could feel it lack it.

It came standard on the 325i Sport and the 318iS, but was a list option for everything else and some cars did have them. I know this because the 325i estate from which my mate and I pulled the engine for the E21 had one, and as it had been owned by one elderly gentleman most of its life, I can categorically say it wasn't fitted after it was registered...

If I'm ever over in Tennessee for some reason, I've to have a look at it in person!

I need to tally up how much I've spent this year. Probably around $350 on wheels/tires/centercaps. Way too much honestly. $200 on exhaust. $40 on new intake tube/filter. $35 on an oil change. $35 for a new fender. $10 on a can of paint for the lights. It all adds up.

Also, aside from seats and fixing various things, I don't really have any plans for it this year. Not tinting windows until I replace the doors outright. Need to get it lowered and beat the inner fenders in.

Oh yeah, the 3.25 rear end is too tall. I can probably do a 3.73 lsd swap from an pretty cheaply. Just requires me to swap over the cover and halfshaft flanges.

Will bump this with some slight updates. I've got some lightweight forged Style 4's now and I'm going to paint up the Style 5's here soon. Some recent pics of me having fun with it since the last update as well.

I lied. I now have more plans than ever. Just depends on how well I save money. I'm looking at replacing my front bumper rubber, painting the bumpers, and shortening the shocks so they set inside the plastic cladding. Like this.

Cheaper than euro bumpers by a couple of grand

Other than that, I'm mainly going to focus on suspension and tires. Would like adjustable Spax PSX struts and springs. Should be about as firm of a spring rate as I can go without going to coilovers. Adjustable by hand up front and with a flathead screwdriver in the back. More or less similar to Bilstein Sports and H&R race springs except that I'll have adjustable rebound and bump. Have heard good things about them. Seem like the best bang for the buck to me.

Also some adjustable IA M5 size (22 mm f, 19mm r) sway bars. Should handle pretty well after that.

Along with that, start focusing on replacing worn out rubber bushings. Looking at Spherical Upper Control Arm Bushings. from Mooshead, and Poly Lower Control Arm Bushings, Subframe bushings, Steering Coupler, Motor mount bushings, and Trans Mounts from IA.

So a solid $1500 or so needs to be thrown at old worn out suspension and bushings. I know poly stuff gives off a lot of vibrations and harshness, but I think I can manage. I've ridden in Jeeps with them before. Wasn't too bad.

Then on to tires. On the Style 4's, I'm thinking Hancook Ventus R-S3's

Both in 225/50ZR16. The R-S3's are very sticky and about the best bang for the buck you can get in the tire. The V12's are also pretty grippy and wear nice enough for daily use. The R-S3's will wear fast and be dedicated fun tires. Both are very well priced (Around $110 for R-S3's and $88 for V12's).

I'm still thinking of the M30B35 swap. Been seeing some that keep the B34's Motronic 1.0 instead of the B35's Motronic 1.3. It would simplify the whole wiring it up thing. Thinking this might be the way to go. Won't gain the efficiency gains of the 1.3 system but will still have a nice better flowing 9:1 C/R motor with much bigger valves and ports. Then I can just do bolt-ons/drop-ins/plug-ins to it at my leisure and still end up with a decent 220+ hp engine. Might also replace the old G260/6 with a slightly stronger wide ratio G265/5 at that time. And probably a stage 2 clutch of some sort.

I've had this car 3 years as of today. Longer than some of you have been on this forum. And it still kicks ass.
