I've noticed a difference in volume between my iPod Classic and iPhone, and I sought some solutions on how to disable the EU volume limit on my iPod. I'm aware it'll disable any kind of warranty or guarantee but it's a fair few years old and I'm not too bothered at this point. Anything to make it a little louder. I followed the hidden folder method (looking in Devices, and then a volume control file) but it's absent. I was wondering if it had one and it's just quiet because of how old it is, but it's a little annoying. I don't really want to select all songs and alter the volume adjustment levels up 100% because that may take some of the quality away. Can anyone help please?

Which gen is your iPod and iPhone?

I'm about 99% sure that your problem is to do with hardware. Some of the iPods and iPhones have higher quality DACs than others, namely the Wolfson DACs. The iPod Classic is known to have the Wolfson DAC, but again, I can't tell for sure without knowing the gen.

The same goes for the iPhone, some of 'em have Wolfson DACs while others don't.

If you can tell me the exact generations, it'd help a lot.

How does the Trust Tytan 2.1 Speaker Set compete against my Logitech Z323?
I've got the Logitech and a friend of mine is going to buy the Trust ones, how are they?

I have had more experience with logitech and in general they make affordable value for money peripherals, they.are reliable probably will last a few years, and are pretty good on warranty and replacements, trust is a newer brand whom I have no experience.

Speakers are hard because chances are none of us have those speakers and everyone has their preference and it's difficult to guess what it might sound like just by looking at specifications, either go to a store and get a demo or look up reviews on both.

You sure the flickering wasn't just due to the performance evaluator doing it's thing? I wouldn't worry about it.

I was simply browsing the net and then Aero switched to classic and the rating from experience index turned gray, and when I made the test again it was lower than before.

Your Graphics driver probably crash and recovered, try logging off and and on again and see if that sorts it.

Or the Windows Experience Index thing began the diagnostics test as part of schedule; I seem to recall it happening to me once while I was idling on my PC and wondering why it changed to Windows Basic.

I always use MSI Afterburner for custom fan settings, but lately I often have this annoying problem.
Whenever I put the fan at 50%, which is 2500 RPM, after a while it'll go down to 1500 RPM.
If that happens, I turn the fan to 100%, which is 4200 RPM, but it always takes quite a few minutes to go from 3400 RPM to 4000 RPM.
It often firstly goes down to a bit under 3000 RPM and after 10 minutes it's back at 4000 RPM (watch, not 4200 RPM).

When I started the PC this morning, the fans started at 200 RPM nervous.gif
100% was around 600 RPM, and only after 5 minutes of waiting (standard speeds) and 5 minutes 100% it was back at 4000 RPM (again, not 4200 RPM).
Tomorrow, my dad's going to bring some compressed air thingy from work so I can clean out the fans.
But could it be that the fans are damaged?

EDIT
The fans are at 100% now for a few minutes, and it's at 3400 RPM mad.gif

What's the best value out of the HD 7970, GTX 680 and 670? I've seen that you can overclock the 670 just enough to get up to a stock 680, but I'm not experienced in overclocking. 7970 is £322, 680 is £400 and 670 is £287 where I'm buying from. I would like to be playing BF3 with Ultra settings quite smoothly.

I would definitely say 670, well, based on what you just said alone.

And on a side note: I've seen very little difference between Ultra and High settings other than a fps drop which was about a 10-15fps drop for me.

I think Windows does the WEI test on a monthly basis at a set time, sometimes it's like 2AM and it just switches to the basic theme to do the tests. The score is usually lower because you're doing stuff at the same time presumably.

My computer that I currently use has a weak processor not very suited for gaming, but our older computer actually has a more powerful processor, by 900 MHz, which is pretty noticeable. What would be easier - finding a processor compatible with the computer I have, or just transferring the parts I've added on to my computer onto the other one?

If you don't have money, it would be better to switch the processors. The problem is, you have to check if they're compatible.

Okay, it's a hard issue.

It might be that there's some conflicts with the sensors, do you have a monitoring program in your background? For example: CPU-Z/GPU-Z, RealTemp or Everest? Close them as they may be the cause of the problem.

And were the previous video card drivers working better with Afterburner? Or try to get an older version of Afterburner instead?
