| QUOTE (Whiskey @ Thursday, Jul 12 2012, 18:23) | | More problems guys. I haven't a clue when it comes to networking. So I plugged in my ethernet cable and I just can't create a network at all. It just comes up as unidentified network for both PC's and I don't know what to do or how to fix it. I can't change the network type from public to home either. It's just blacked out. | I think if you go run (windows key + R) and type ' gpedit.msc ' find this branch - computer config>windows settings>security settings>network list and you should see your network listed on the right, however dont select it, look for the one called 'all networks' select that and select properties, second section down theres a radio button for 'user can change location' select that and click ok.
Hopefully you should get access to change it out of public to home.
Edit: However in the event of it not working or being able to set a connection up you should post some general info. -OS: Windows XP, 7, OSX, ect. -Network layout: Directly connected to modem, modem + router, modem/router combo, DSL varriant This post has been edited by Master Headhunter on Thursday, Jul 12 2012, 23:41

| QUOTE (Wolf68k @ Thursday, Jul 12 2012, 17:10) | @blank I'm not sure then what to tell you. Something had to have changed on your system to cause it. Try IE just for grins. And still while in IE go to that Adobe Flash test page again to see what version IE is using. Believe it or not there are 2 different Flash players; 1 for IE and 1 for everything else. I know it's sounds stupid.
For your sig, and again I know this is completely off topic, I opened it in Photoshop and played with the levels. I had to move the black level more than half way to the right, where the white level is, before I could really see any of the details you were talking about. With my monitor I had to manually adjust the Gamma below the default of 1.0 So question for everyone else: Am I the only one that see it has a white box or is everyone else seeing something besides the S shape? |
It works better on IE, I forgot to say that. I remember getting very little stutter still. Screw it, I'll figure it out maybe, it isn't that big of a deal. I changed the image recently, the background is plain now but it isn't white actually. It is a white-ish teal like color, it only looks white because most skins on this forum are dark and the darker the surroundings of the image are the whiter the background of the sig looks, it's an illusion.

Not sure what the means that you can't download files on an iPhone. If you want to download music and videos/movies/tv shows, yes you can do that. You want to read a PDF files, yes you can do that. You want to download a zip file, no you can't do that on an iPhone but then you can't do that with Android either. Want to play a flash video or game online, that's an iffy one. There are browsers for the iPhone that will let you do it but you're going through a sort of proxy to make it work. The Android on the other can, for now, but since Adobe is dropping mobile support in Flash you won't be able to for long.
Can't look at files and folders on iPhone? Not sure what that means either. You can use the iPhone has a mobile storage device, that's been around since the first iPod. If you mean you can't look at the file structure, then no normally you can't but that doesn't mean it's not possible either. There are programs for both Mac and Win that will let you do just that. I've used 2 of them myself to hack game files to change things to my benefit. I could if I wanted to, which I haven't, follow a guide on how to enabled a still currently locked feature on the iPhone that will let me use the Camera app to take panoramic images or another guide that will auto-suggest words something that the Windows Phone made a big deal of. However while the panoramic feature is mostly working perfectly I have read reports that the auto-suggestion feature has some issues when you try to go back to having it disabled.
But here is something to think about. If you have a lot of money invested in apps, music, videos, whatever else in the iOS then you might want to stick with that. And before someone says that the same apps can be found on the Android for free while on the iOS it cost money; true to some degree but those "free" apps usually have ads being a banner ad that's always on the screen or an ad you have to look at between levels or whatever. It's like watching a movie you really like; you can watch on HBO/Showtime ad free but it cost you or you can watching on network TV that you get over-the-air for free but you have to watch the ads every so often as the movie gets closer to the end the ad breaks get longer and longer...at least that's how it is in the USA.
Lastly if you given the S3 for free you can do with it much like you do with the 3GS now, mostly just play with it without using it as a phone.

Got a question, yesterday i installed Google Chrome, after installing it, most if not all flash videos embeeded in firefox on some forums, or some other site just show a blank white box, unless i run firefox as administrator, then everything is normal. So, i take it Chrome causes this, but why and can it be fixed without having to run FF as admin.
Not that it's hard, but it bothers me since it worked just fine.
edit: And wow, now my comp has BSOD'ed, first time in like 3 years. I'm taking that Chrome off... edit2: Yep, after uninstalling, Firefox videos work just fine without running as admin...
