@Exxon
I looked at the dump. Sorry it took so long.
If it happened just that one time then I wouldn't worry about it. However if it's happening a lot then worry.
The report says: VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE which is basically the graphics drivers timed out (stopped responding) and didn't reset with the allotted time.
There is a reg tweak that allow you to adjust the time to make it longer, but I don't suggest it.
I had this issue come up when my first 560Ti card turned out to be bad. I'm not saying that is or isn't what is wrong here.
I would need more details as to what you were doing when this happened before I can give suggestions on where to go from here.

Like I said, if it's just the one time then no big deal but if it keeps happening then let us know.

Recently I've been thinking of getting another 6950 to get a big boost in performance but I'm wondering if micro-stuttering is still a big issue with multi-gpu configurations. Is it really bad?

People have different tolerence levels towards stutter. Another thing to consider is that there are so many different component combinations so the stutter can vary. I would stick to one 6950 and save up for new high end card in the future.

My PC is really really slow. The read/write data from my hard-disk, its 4-5 Mbps!! Is there any reason this is happening? This doesn't bother as much but the thing is that the program I use keeps crashing on me when I do too much work on them. The video playback isn't smooth at all. The video keeps lagging.

SATA cable, does it has to do anything with this problem of mine?

@komalr
First thing I would have to suggest is a system cleaning; virus scan, spyware scan, registry cleaning, chkdsk and defrag and in that order.
If you're still having problems after that it could a physical problem with the drive itself. Check it out with something like HDTune http://www.hdtune.com/download.html The free version is very old but still effective at reading the Health. Or you can get the trial version of the Pro.
Speccy http://www.piriform.com/speccy (download) is also a useable option and it's free and updated. Plus you'll learn more specs about your system than you might not have known before.

@Wolf68k
Thanks for taking a look smile.gif
One or two weeks before this, my PC wouldn't give a signal.
Therefor, I swapped my HD6950 for an HD5450 and back again, and then it suddenly worked again sigh.gif

It has still happened only once, so if it happens again I'll let you know.
Once this one dies, I'm planning on buying this badboy cool.gif

@ Wolf68k : Well I have done as you've said. The program hasn't crashed on me, thank god. I'll have to see if the problem will persist.

I downloaded Speccy. Is there anyway to know if with it that I have a problem in my PC?

With Speccy click on the Hard Drives option on the left. Then on the right if you scroll down and look for Status. You want it to say Good. I have no idea if it'll highlight anything that might be of slight trouble, this is why I still like HDTune.

Ok, i'll install HDTune. So how would I know if there's a problem? Is it gonna flash me or do I have to wear a spec and cramp my back?

On the health tab it'll show problem areas as yellow. Some times however what it might show as a problem really isn't one, call it a false-positive.
I have 2 Seagate drives where since I first got them it showed at least 1 line on both as yellow, yet I've used and abused the drives for years with no problem.
Some times the temperature will show up as a problem as well, like around 30+C it might show yellow. Again that's nothing to worry about until it gets close to 50C then you can worry.

If HDTune shows up anything in yellow, but for the temp, take a screen shot and post it.

Have a look at the AMD 6770 (getting a bit old), 7770 and Nvidia GTX 550 Ti.

I'm getting a new PC around Christmas and I'm wondering about the CPU. First I thought a AMD FX 8120 would do since it seems quite powerful, then I noticed the 8150 is only £15 more expensive and more powerful so I've decided on that. However, are there are any Intel alternatives that offer a better performance for that price or below? I am not looking to overclock as I do not want to have the hassle of installing extra cooling and whatnot.

Here's some advice when it comes to AMD chips.

You might see people going on and on about how Bulldozer was a 'failure' and how slow it is compared to SB/IB, but the fact is that Bulldozer is a very fast CPU. The thing is that SB/IB just manages to be slightly faster in certain cases and not in others, HOWEVER, this doesn't make the Bulldozer 'slow', its still fast enough for whatever you wanna throw at it.

My way of looking at it is, with SB/IB being as fast as they are, Bulldozer being slightly slower, indicates a pretty damn good performing CPU, not a 'slow' CPU.

I agree, there are applications in which Bulldozers manages to be even faster than SB/IB. Bulldozer's bad reputation comes mostly from its underwhelming performance in games, where it can lose even to lower clocked Phenoms II. But for professionals, it's okay.

Presumably, this is more down to optimisation of software to run on Bulldozer's "modular" CPU design as it is any inherent flaw in the design of the processor. I wonder if we'll see a greater degree of compatibility in the near future?

In the future - maybe. As of now, SB/IB are more versatile for home use.
Good thing that new AMD Trinity CPUs have shown a decent increase of performance (+10-15% compared to Bulldozers on the same clock speeds), so Piledrivers might be better all-rounders than Bulldozers.
