I've got a question about the resource forks Macs create as part of zip and rar files and so on. Obviously anything in the __MACOSX folder isn't needed by Windows, but could Mac users have any issues with an archive created in Windows, which obviously wouldn't have the resource fork? Is that something that's dealt with automatically or only comes into play with Mac-created archives?

That "folder" has nothing to do with ZIP files or any other archive type file. It just naturally exist because of the Mac OS.
There is a program, which I can't think of the name of off the top of my head right now, that can flip a switch to show you all of the hidden files. You'll see that folder (or something like it) and other files you didn't know existed. Not all folders (the normal ones not the hidden ones) will have these hidden folders and files but that doesn't mean they won't get created later.

Nut shell: Don't worry about it. It's a non-issue. As for opening Windows created ZIPs on a Mac, don't worry about that either.

Cheers, Wolf. I hadn't given it much thought past archives as that's the only time I've seen them as far as I remember. The reason I asked is that I'd like any files I create to be "clean" with no visible clutter for both Windows and Mac OS users.

If you create the archive on the Mac, only Windows (maybe Linux as well) users will see it and most of them won't care.
Now maybe you can use a third-party program to create it and it might not add that hidden folder. I've never done it and like I said it never bothered me anyway.

I've seen people who I'd expect better of trying to open those files in Windows and not understanding why they won't work so it's something I'd rather avoid fielding confused questions on if possible. From the looks of it though, creating the files in Windows should be fine across the board.

The only difference I can see between the 4 of those is the processor speed. This is only important if you was going to be overclocking the thing, but if not then to be honest in my opinion, the choice you have with them is only with the price.

Some people will argue the toss with the brand of a graphics card but they isn't much of difference that really matters, unless like I mentioned you like overclocking stuff.

Then I think the best choice is the MSI, will I have any problems running it along with a Athlon II X4 620 2.60 GHz? (sistem will be used for gaming)

I shouldn't think so, I'm running a HD6870 along side a AMD Phenom X6 1055T, and it works well.

Usually AMD chip based systems work well when it's AMD Processor paired with AMD GFX Cards. Similarly Intel and nVidia cards work well together.

The MSI will be the better deal to me. You're getting a GPU that's OC'ed the most of the 4 and it's the cheapest of the 4.
I don't see you would have any problems using it with that CPU. If anything the CPU might hold the GPU back some but that just means that when you can, you can upgrade the CPU which is better than getting a card more matched to the CPU which then means the next upgrade you'll want to do both the CPU and GPU. Hopefully that last part made sense.

All of them are quite good, Gigabyte has best cooling, though MSI might overclock best (unlocked voltage controller).

Some of you bought Ultimate versions of Windows, I was seeing earlier about using Dreamscene, which just updated currently on mine, under options, though it's no longer supported. Suppose you're using Vista though, and you lack Ultimate, can you get those same files from one that is Ultimate and just run them with a swap of the installer?

Narcis, it's "System", anywho, I'd likely try Sapphire after reading a number of good reviews on them, and my 5450 is an ASUS, the silent Heat Sink only model, but I feel it's just not new enough, as most noted already, even with 1GB of vRAM

That is a common mistake I usually make. I will wait a few days before making a move, but so far my top choice is the Gigabyte (mostly for the amazing design).

Well, one key thing is that the brand companies are using GPUs from the main two, AMD/ATI and nVidia, but they chose how to employ them with the circuits on each card, it's hard to tell at times what might be the better design given there are a number of companies making graphics cards, rather then just the two making GPUs, Sparkle for example, I bought from them before they seemed to be even on the map!

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for. I can tell you this much. All Win7 disc are the exact same. They all have the same files on them from Starter, Home Premium, Pro, and Ultimate, only the Enterprise version is not included. There are 2 things that decide which gets installed. One is a text file the setup reads to determine which one the disc is made for, but that can be bypassed.
And the other is the CD key. So while you can use the above link to made a new, disc that will let you choose which version to install you still need a cd key for that version.

It's simple, really, the Ultimate version gives you Tinker and associated sounds [as an example], it's as an optional NON CRITICAL downloaded UPDATE option, so once you have it downloaded, in theory, the installer or files might work on a lesser version of similar OS,( not XP for another case in point) avoiding a purchased upgrade in whole

Whats the difference between bit and byte?

8 Bits to a Byte roughly
It also applies to the larger forms of bits and bytes (obviously).
For example, if your internet is 8 Mbits (Mega Bits per second) it is roughly equal to 1Mbps (Mega bytes per second)

There is a much much more complicated answer but i don't quite have the technological programming knowledge to answer it.
--

Question of my own, i have a 16Gb MicroSD card in my SGS2, which gives it a total of 32Gb of space.
My SD card is primarily for music and photos.
Since i have a bit of music and am constantly getting more i am upgrading to a 32Gb MicroSD card.

How do i transfer everything over?
DO i Format the new SD to fat32 then:

Old SD --->PC ---> New SD.

Is that all?
