QUOTE (Exxon @ Friday, Apr 6 2012, 10:00)
So it isn't possible to properly add GTA IV to Steam if it isn't a Steam version?
If I add it to Steam, I can't use Shift+Tab confused.gif

For what I think you're asking. No.
There is a way to "add" your games to Steam. However what you're really doing is adding a shortcut that can be opened (clicked on) from Steam.

This is to give you an idea of what I mean
user posted image
Notice that for last 3 it says Shortcut. That's all it really is, is a shortcut.
This is like adding games to Xfire. And just like Xfire you can launch the game from Steam's tray icon.

Just a Q and D query, although I'm guessing this should work without issue, my cellular is the VX5600 LG, I need a missing accessory DATA CABLE Micro USB, I believe it will allow me to move the photos to my computer since BTooth doesn't allow that, but looking online it just mentionings syncing content, not really specific enough for my taste

Indeed, but it opens the LaunchGTAIV.exe which opens GTAIV.exe, and that is the problem.
Due to that I can't use Shift+Tab confused.gif

I honestly have no idea what shift+tab has do with anything.
If it has to do with some way that GTA4 will launch then maybe there is a way to add that to the command line of the shortcut.

More likely ALT+TAB, the common hot key sequence?

Why do games consoles use strange cell processors and not x86-64 CPU's? Is it cheaper and do they not want people installing Windows on their Xbox or PS3?

If you press Shift+Tab, it'll open up the Overlay thing.
That's what I want to use, so I don't have to keep "tabbing out" when someone talks wink.gif

@illegal_luggage
I think it's more about keeping people from trying to replace the CPU themselves later to make the system faster.
If all PC gamers had to have the exact same specs, same hardware even, in order to play a set of games then it would be all about skill more than system performance. As it is now a PC gamer with a weak system can get their butt kicked by someone with a bigger system because there is more performance lag in a weak system.
With consoles the only variable that can affect the player's performance is network; low ping vs high ping. Because everything else is the same.

@Exxon
Ok that answers it and yet for me it doesn't answer it. It's been a long time since I've had 4 installed and I had never heard of the shift+tab thing. And I thought he was talking about that having to do something when he starts GTA4 from the desktop.

If you're talking about MP3s (although it can do some other formats as well), I use MP3Tag http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
It's free and pretty easy to use. What I really love about it is that it can take the file name and use it to fill in the tag info, but you can also go the reverse; using the tags to create the file name format you want.
Adding cover art isn't as easy as iTunes but it can be done. I usually look up the artist and album on Amazon, right-click on the image and select Copy (not save image or anything like that just Copy as if you selected text and use Edit->Copy) then go back to MP3Tag and paste it.

If you're using iTunes already there is nothing wrong with that. It can do a lot of the same things that MP3Tag can do. My personal issue with iTunes is that if you're doing things in bulk, when it comes to the adding cover art, even if you know without a doubt that they all have the exact same image already in the file for some reason the bulk editor doesn't show anything. Also for some reason if I add cover art to some files, even if it's one at a time it might not show up any place but within iTunes. For some reason even if I sync it to my phone the image isn't there and I know I added it to those files. Now it's rare that it happens but it happens. So I just got the the point where I edit the tags for the most part in iTunes but add the image(s) with MP3Tag.

Your saying specific Hot Key for Steam, worth mentioning, since Hot Key functions on a number of software platforms, as mapped for them

Any time you streamline rename function, it's going to be somewhat automated, unless you make it specific with labels, since there's no way around typing up what you want versus a systematic algorithm. There are tools some make just for better sorting. XnView handles photos with Hotkey ease, but can also play video and music in the same GUI, so it's not as specific an option, but can speed up the process of Macro file handling

Oh! Steam's shift+tab. I thought about he was talking about holing that while starting gta4 from the desktop
I don't think Steam's shift=-tab works unless it's an actual Steam game. Like I own Bad Company 2 in Steam and use that (I also have it on DVD, long messed up story) and shift+tab works but I've never tried with Halo which I created a shortcut in Steam with.

@finn4life
MP3Tag is also script-able. For example, for some reason I hate Disc X of X. You can use MP4Tag "Actions" to remove those. Ok that's not saying much I know. BUt check this out. I like having 2 digits in my Track numbers so I created one that looks at the TRACK tag info and does this: $num(%track%,2) basically if the number is just 1 number it'll take that number and add a 0 to it to make it 01, 02 and so on. I've created others that I used for a short time and then deleted.

You finally got it! biggrin.gif
But, I've tried many games (even Minecraft, why I don't know tounge2.gif) and those all work with Shift+tab, IV is the only one which does not confused.gif

I had a game that I got through Steam that didn't work with that either. It's been a long time so I forget which one.
Frankly when I'm in a game I'd rather not be bothered by text messages outside of is built in the game. Plus I'd rather use VOIP like Teamspeak and Ventrilo.

Best object-oriented programming languages for a TOTAL newbie? I've been using Small Basic and caught the gist of general programming and such pretty quick. Now I think I'm ready to move onto other languages..! Just not sure which ones.

Compiler suggestions would help too smile.gif

You'd be better off asking in here http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showforum=9

Ok what am I missing here?
I went to look for some more gadgets to see if there is one I can use. I click on the "Get more gadgets online" in the gallery and I get taken to
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows...onalize/gadgets
This only shows a small handful of the gadgets that I know exist. Clicking on the Themes and Backgrounds at the top I get a bunch to choose from and a list of categories, but I don't get that with the Gadgets.
Did MS stop support those or something? What's going on?
