320kbps MP3 is not rare in the slightest.

Eh, out of the loop a bit i guess.
Last time i tried finding those i had trouble finding them, turning into slamman over here.
I still have trouble telling the difference and i have some decent cans (Sony MDRNC500D), but i will have to try again on a friends PC, last time i tried i couldn't notice, maybe my ears are just ruined from too many wood-hunting trips, shooting and loud music. It is interesting to hear your opinions on them though.

Anyone have experience with HP monitors? I want to upgrade to something capable of 1080p and so far this one is the best looking candidate I've seen. There was an Asus I looked at before, but I noticed a lot of reviewers mentioning both an abundance of dead pixels and the fact that Asus was apparently hesitant to replace their monitors.

Shame it's got TN panel, but other than that it seems okay.

Any guess as to how the performance is going to compare to the 670? I was interested in upgrading to a 670, but it's just too far out of my price range. I could afford to pick one of these up, though, and even if they're miles away from the 670's performance they'll still probably be a significant upgrade over my 1GB 6950. Especially because I want to run a dual monitor set-up once I get my new monitor, and I'm really skeptical as to how well the 6950 can handle it.

The 660 seemed to run BF3 on ultra fine, but we only saw single player in that vid, and Multiplayer is always more intensive, especially on maps like Close Quarters. It ran about 5-10FPS slower on Unigine's Heaven Benchmark, so it's not that bad for the price.

Awesome. I'd say I'll be picking one up if the price is right.

5-10FPS slower than the 670? For $100 less?

I'm sold.

Someone actually paid $20,100? confused.gif

Also, Intel CPU? I thought both next-gen consoles will have AMD. Either ways anything with x86 architecture is good for me. tounge.gif

Well it's not confirmed but I don't reckon it'll be x86. I'm thinking PowerPC.

Yea the 670 is about that much behind the 680 as well. So the 600 series doesn't seem to vary that much, apart from the 690 of course, but that's around £800 so it's not that popular. I reckon when the 660 price drops you could get two 660's for the price of a 680 and get a lot better performance, assuming you have the PSU to handle two high end GPU well.

I think it's very much more likely that the 680 will see a price drop not long after the 660 is released. Due to the low price for comparable performance, the 660 is going to be in drastically higher demand. I'm sure Nvidia already has enough trouble getting people interested in the 680 over the 670 - with this new card, they're going to struggle even more.

Do you think it would be possible to get a 680 on the cheap then for quite a bit better performance? I originally wanted to get a 680, then the 670 because if the lower price and similar performance, but if the 660 is cheap enough here in the UK I may get that instead.

The Asus GTX 660 Ti is $300 on Newegg, but here in Holland it's €370.
While converting the price: $300 --> €245.

The 660 costs around £280 here in the UK (at Scan.co.uk anyway), which is about $440. This annoys me massively. I was thinking of getting this if it was actually £190 ($300) but I can get a much better EVGA Overclocked 670 for £320, so I'm going with that. Also, I'm hoping to get a 550W PSU for my PC, will that be enough with an i5 3570k and the 670?

Intel is leading the CPU game pretty heavily right now, wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah, but I heard some rumours about all consoles eventually with have AMD CPU/GPU. One of the rumours has it that the PS4 will have an AMD processor, as well as a HD 6670 I think.
