I actually despise biker gangs, and personally view them as a bunch of fat, greezy slobs who storm u and down the road like a bunch of lost hookers. But I found the storyline, as well as the missions, in TLaD to be f*cking awesome. Perhaps better than IV itself. Now, obviously TBoGT would win if my opinion was based on features, but even still... The streetsweeper was just insane.

Plus, I saw Luis as somewhat of a prick.

I had the most fun playing TBOGT, so it's my favorite of the IV era. It had the best features imo, I really liked the replay mission feature since there was a few missions I had a lot of fun with. So it was nice having the convenience of replaying them whenever I wanted as opposed to switching to a different save file or starting a new game entirely. The return of the parachute, something which I'll never understand why it was taken out in the first place was another plus as well. I also loved the new weapons and vehicles we had at our disposal, the APC and Buzzard being prime examples of what I find fun. I also was glad to see a couple fun cheats added as well, which was another thing I began to miss after IV was released. Putting on the explosive punches cheat and then running up behind someone and kicking them in the ass and seeing them fly like 15 feet in the air. Good times!

So I chose TBOGT, it catered the most to what I find fun. smile.gif

I wonder if results would be the same if you'd posted this topic in the TLaD section. Just a thought. smile.gif

I'm a huge GTA fan and i have both DLCs, and I can honestly say I didn't complete TLaD.

I just don't find it too appealing...however I may play it soon.

TBoGT was great; it added two sweet things that were in SA but not in IV: parachutes and Tanks (APC whatever, same idea)

I loved TLAD. Every single minute.
TBOGT on the other hand, well I dunno I didn't like it as much as TLAD.

TLaD gets my vote. I prefer playing as Johnny over Luis, and I really like the whole feel, especially running around as president and warring with other gangs. TBoGT is fun, but I'm not a big fan of the neon-high-life-club scene theme. I prefer being down on the street, fighting it out in the dirt and grit rather than zooming around in sports cars and using state of the art weaponry.

I like BoGT because:
1. I hate johnney
2. Niko and luis forever
3. TBoGT much better then tlad
4. I just like tbogt biggrin.gif

Sense... It makes none,
The Lost and Damned all the ways!
Ballad of Gay Tony has a crappy story, most people say that every BoGT hater played it first on EFLC, I played LaD first.
I don't hate BoGT, has better features and Gameplay, but LaD has better bikes and Storyline.
I feel like Johnny and Nikolai had much more sould and heart than Luis.

So I'm playing TLAD and NOTHING beats the feeling of being club president riding with your brothers in formation cruising to "Wanted Dead or Alive". inlove.gif

I've said this before, but I think TBOGT feels odd for LC. GTA IV and TLAD are both gritty games, but TBOGT feels like it would be better suited to VC or a generally sunnier location with its emphasis on night life.

This. Luis is a big, unlikable prick.

This too. TBOGT was a freaking cartoon with every mission involving parachutes, tanks or helicopters. The museum mission was changed from having Luis shoot up the top of the building as seen at the end of TLAD to Luis flying away in a heli to please the SA fanboys. Pitiful effort.

Don't get me wrong TBOGT did have some fun missions, but I felt TLAD was more authentic like GTA IV.

As I've said in other threads aswell I simply had no interest in the majority of the characters in TBOGT. Armando and Henrique were c*nts to hang out with and I just generally found them boring. Nothing on Jim, Clay and Terry IMO.

Oh definitely, that's certainly the single worst thing about the storyline; the characters. Vanilla and TLAD had a couple of joke characters but they still had serious moments. TBOGT took the light hearted bits of IV, dialed it up to 1000, threw it in the oven, sent it to space and then blew it up, leaving us with the messy train wreck we got in TBOGT. Every character is a 2D dimensional douche, with the possible exception of Tony himself but even he isn't that good. Roman was a funny guy, but he could still be serious in circumstances, whereas its all fun and laughs for TBOGT.

And don't get me started on Bulgarin. Read that other thread like this to see why.

EDIT: Here's that thread I was talking 'bout. Good stuff here.

Tony was probably my favourite TBGOT character. I've seen a lot favourtism for Yusif Amir, but I never thought he was that great.

I don't mind eccentric and unusual characters aka The Truth, but Yusif felt very tryhard and IMO is the most overrated character across all 3 games.

I just noticed MarshDanni's post at the top of the page and have to comment. I thought TBOGT was quite decieving when it was marketed. I wasn't expecting empire building like VC or SA, but I thought money would have more importance. As it turned out there was LESS to buy than GTA IV.

Basically Luis is a poser who tries to live the high life getting all the women he wants, driving sports cars, having access to crazy weapons etc, but is really some loser bouncer that lives in a average apartment.

I thought the plot and the characters from both were great.

I have to say though, whilst TLAD was fun to play, it was too short and too easy. TBOGT also had a more impressive big bad for me in Bulgarin, who obviously we'd met before in IV. So as a game, TBOGT probably had the edge for me.

Overall I think they are about equal

I liked the story better in TLAD, most missions were great fun, Gang Wars much better than Drug Wars, Going out with buddies on bikes much better than hangin out with A and H (hated A) Road rash bike races were awesome and best fun of all side missions in my opinion

In BoGT the missions were great and best of all three games, base jumping and triathlons were great too. Drug Wars were quite dull compared to Gang Wars, club management was great the first couple times, but after a while it got monotonous, enjoyed the missions at the end of each club management though.

I hope in GTA V we get a triathlon were you start with skydiving from a chopper then have long boat race, then finish with a road rash bike race biggrin.gif

I liked TBOGT better, its just had more to do in the game, and it felt more exciting and thrilling. TLAD probably did have the better storyline, and it was a bit predictable, but it was still good.
