I finally got around to watching the ultimate finale. The feather weight final was only one round, but that one round was better than most five round championship bouts. One guy would stagger the other, and then vice versa. And that arm bar busted his arm before it was even locked in. All in all, this season's TUF, has been good. Too bad Mayhem looked completely unprepared. He barely lasted a round before he was begging Bisping to knock him out. I had a feeling Bisping would win, but I thought Mayhem would be able to go at least three rounds. Bisping won, but Mayhem beat himself.

Diego Brandao - showing the world that crazy BJJ sweeps are still alive in MMA! (Even if he tapped a little early to be honest, I mean he didn't even hyper-extend that arm to something stupid ala Mir/Nog...) I agree with you though Darth good season all around, but like yourself I was a little dissapointed in Mayhem, I know his striking has never been perfect, but he never really tried to take the fight to the ground, and he said that it was "nerves and adrenaline" that saw him gassed in less than five minutes...Nope, again like you mentioned he was simply unprepared, but to give him his dues, I've never been Bisping's biggest fan, but he has drastically improved recently and I'll now be looking forward to his next fight.

Big fight Saturday with Jon "Bones" Jones and "Sugar" Rashad Evans.

Any predictions?

I dislike them both.

However Jones should win this comfortably. He's an amazing athlete and even though Rashad matches up well against larger opponents, he's no match.

I don't really like either fighter as well but I feel it will be a great fight.

I'm hoping for a Rashad win to shake up the division but Jones should win.

At the moment Rashad is the only one that can challenge Jon Jones, but the only way I see him losing is through being knocked out (Macheda showed that his chin can be rattled). Yet, in my opinion, Rashad no longer posseses the knock-out power he once had and while he dominated Davis, he never looked like finishing the fight. This fight will come down to the wrestling and while Evans is the better wrestler, Jones is the stronger wrestler and that'll be telling come the end of the twenty-five minutes.

Silva by KO/TKO 2nd round.

Sonnen is just downright disrespectful (or more commonly known as a c*nt).

Go after your opponent, call them anything you want, taunt them, do whatever. But to verbally attack their nation and wife? f*cking weak.

Sonnen will rightfully get his head kicked the f*ck in.

As for the rest of the main card;

Ortiz
Cote
Maia
Mendes
Easton

I stopped watching a year or two back but man, I hope Anderson destroys Sonnen and shuts him up. It is a shame Chael is such a douchebag because their first fight was so good and he really did give Anderson a good battle. I don't believe he will do the same this time, he ran his mouth way to much and awoke the old school Anderson.

Tito and Forrest should be good, I remember their first fight and Tito accusing Griffin of covering himself in Vaseline. I don't give a f*ck if he did, made for one of the best battles I have seen wink.gif .

Oh, it feels so nice to see that disrespectful scumbag bleeding. Silva should have let him stand up again just to finish him with high kick in his chin.
No one beats Silva.

Yeah, I'm going to be watching this one for sure. The UFC has hyped up a lot of GSP's opponents in the past, but Condit looks like the real deal. He's looked real good in his past fights. Let's see how GSP handles this one.

Also heard Dana White say that if GSP wins, he'll fight Silva in May in Toronto, Cowboy Stadium, or a Brazilian soccer stadium.

if GSP wins tonight i'm hoping they take the fight to Cowboys Stadium, just seems like more of a fair playing field for both fighters. should be a interesting couple of rounds tonight, no matter what both fighters deserve the #1 spot the way i see it.

to be honest though, i hope St-Pierre kicks Condits f*cking head off

That would be awesome. A good even for MMA.

So whats the verdict for tonights matchup... Who's watching it... what are your predictions

I think GSP wins in either the third round via submission or by decision

I'm pretty inclined to say GSP via decision. GSP is going to be rusty and Condit is pretty damn good. Also, a lot of GSP's fights have been going to the judges lately.

But I'm gonna say GSP takes it in the second round via submission. tounge.gif

i'm also looking forward to see who wins the Kampmann & Hendricks fight tonight, the winner of that becomes the contender for Welterweight division taking on the winner of GSP & Condit.

Yeah, looking forward to that fight as well. But I'm not so sure that the winner of that fight will face GSP if he wins. I think GSP will fight Silva. Maybe Nick( or is it Nate)? Diaz because he called out GSP in the past.

However if Condit does win, I still don't think Kampann or Hendricks will get the title shot. It will likely be a rematch between GSP and Condit because GSP deserves a rematch after the ring rust and holding the title for so long- plus it would bring a lot of ratings.

Pretty damn excited to see GSP back in the cage tonight.

What a fight. Condit really gave GSP a tough time. I thought GSP was gone after that kick in the 3rd round, but the champ found a way. Let's see if GSP will take on Silva next.

I would like to see Johnny Hendricks fight Nick Diaz for a title shot. If Nick Diaz is still in the UFC picture it'd be crazy for Hendricks to get a title shot without facing him, especially given that people are generally split on the judges' decision on the Condit vs Diaz fight.

The timing would work out well if the UFC go ahead (and it looks like they will) with the GSP vs Anderson Silva fight in the spring. The two fights could even be on the same card and the subsequent welterweight title fight could happen later in 2013.

On the topic of that fight. I don't fancy GSP's chances much. Sonnen gave Silva some trouble, took him down seemingly at will and landed some strikes. I'd say that GSP is more gifted a striker and at least as good at take downs and controlling the position from the top. GSP is much shorter than Silva though, so striking and landing punches and elbows from Silva's guard will be very difficult for him. Silva will probably use a jab and his reach to control the fight.

Other WW matches I'd like to see are Ellenberger vs the winner of Fitch and Maia (maybe for the next title shot after Hendricks or Diaz) or if he can't wait then maybe Koscheck. Further down the line I'd love to see Condit vs Kampmann.

What's likely to happen though is that Hendricks will get the next shot and Fitch or Maia after that. Ellenberger will probably be in some kind of limbo unless Nick Diaz comes back.

The GSP Silva fight really screws up the division for 2013.
