...and my extreme battery drain caused by LOS has been fixed with today's update.

Just goes to show you how on point the dev community is.

Yes, we are running Pre-Alpha builds, these are highly experimental and bugs are to be expected. There are plenty stable builds available for both Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich that run much better than Samsung's versions.

κενιη are we using the same phone? (GT-i9100?) If so, which ROM are you using, I'm currently using a build of CM10 about a week or so old.

I have Sprint's Epic 4G Touch. Its an i790 not an i9100. Slight differences but big ones at the same time.

I am running an AOKP Jelly Bean build. Its actually getting updated by the builder (sbrissen) quite often. Its updates hit 2 or 3, if not more, times a day. Here is a link to the build on XDA if you want to take a look. AOSP JellyBean 4.1.1

I am still getting a bit of battery drain but the LOS seems to be pretty much taken care of. Its by no means a full on "daily driver" but for my intended purposes (which, at the moment, are quite different than most people) its great. I have no issues with dropped calls, loss of signal issues, 3G/4G data loss, or missed/unsent SMS. If I was working (recent surgery has me out of commission for a few weeks) I would be back on a AOKP or Cyanogen ICS build. One of my main issues with battery drain on the newer, smoother alpha builds has to do with my rom not seating correctly. I haven't really gone through a solid charge cycle yet so the OS hasn't really set any sort of calibration yet. Once I get a solid build to stick with, run it for a day or two, I will make a solid judgement on the batter drainage.

Ah yes the Epic 4G Touch, quite possibly one of the worst phone names to date. tounge.gif

Yeah like I said I'm running CM10, I was running AOKp JB very shortly but the customisations the developer of the rom put on Android really pissed me off so I took off to CM10. I might switch back to AOKP, that seems to be getting a lot of love from ROM developers.

And if I understand correctly hwcomposer is working correctly for you? If so damn, that's nice, they still haven't fixed that for the i9100 and might not until Samsung release Jelly Bean themself. Still it's impressive how well it works despite this.

Ahh, battery drain. I used to love Light Flow but that damn app started eating up my battery like crazy. Now it doesn't even work at all with JB on the GNex.

My work does an attendance program where they give out a free phone if you don't use any sick time for half the year. Yeah, pretty sweet right?
Anyway, I didn't win. But my brother did. He was going to get my mom a phone with it, but I just used an upgrade of mine to get her a Droid 4 (sold mine), and he'll be giving me a shiny new SGS3 32GB, probably going with the blue. Sadly, I'm still (impatiently!) waiting for them to start accepting the orders. As said, it's a semi-annual award... and we're closely approaching September and they still haven't even asked the winners what phones they want. A bit depressing to see my company take so long with something like this. I want the phone!

My HTC INcredible S got updated to 4.0 with HTC Sense 3.6 on Thursday, and ever since; the battery gets drained after about 8 hours. Any suggestions?

soon a new batch of Xperia phones arrive, I'm pretty interested in the xperia T (now owning a Ray) whilst i was looking at the HTC One S at first, but it seems like the Xperia T, despite his 4.55 inch screen size is not going to be THAT big, since there's barely nothing between the edge of the phone and the edge of the screen. Probably going to get it when it comes out in Belgium, people said €500 would be much for the things Xperia T has to offer (Krait dual core, 1g ram etc.) but i think it's a reasonable price regarding the price/specs of the SGS III....Or am i missing the point?

I've seen those around before, they look like a nice little piece of kit, great cheap way to turn your TV into a Smart TV. Probably not a bad idea to download XBMC if you're hooking it up to your TV, that should make the experience quite pleasant (if you plan on consuming media with it).

Law0070: How much is the SGS III there? And which model is it, the GT i9300 (international model)?

New phone! Old one decided to suddenly stop working for no reason. (Moto Defy)

It had to be waterproof, so it's the new Xperia acro S. Seems nice so far.

I'm also chuffed that unlike the Defy, the community actually knows this phone exists. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/xpie...s-cm9-and-cm10/ It took ages for the Defy to even get CM7, let alone ever getting CM9.

I'm going to assume you're talking about the international version then since you didn't say otherwise.

So €630 for the SGS III and €500 for the Xperia T? The pricing then seems pretty fair, both sport 720p displays, though since the Xperia T is smaller than the SGS III it will have a higher pixel density and thus look a bit better. Processor wise the S4 (found in the T) offers comparable performance to the Exynos Quad (found in the SGS III) so you wouldn't be missing out on much there. The battery is a bit smaller (and non removable I think if that matters to you) than the SGS III so I'd expect it's time on charge to be a little bit less than it. They both have NFC and Micro SD Card slots so you're not missing out on functionality.

All in all it actually seems like a pretty good device, the only real area the SGS III has a clear advantage is it's processor, but both should offer fairly equal quality experiences.

Anyone know how CM10 (JB) is on the GSII? Really thinking about flashing it tonight. Would it be alright as a daily user?

It will be on Ebay when it comes out sometime in October no doubt, which is when I will probably purchase one.
