Odd, I guess I should note I'm not running the stock firmware that came on my phone (TouchWiz), and that Gmail seems to be tapping into a system setting for the attachment, so considering Google Aps are the same across all devices, it seems like it's a Samsung issue.

Try running the default mail app instead of the Gmail one, the one on my HTC let me attach PDF's. However I didn't test multiple files although I'd bet it was supported.

And I found the battery life to be pretty good, my old iPhone 4 seemed to get a little better but of course the screen is way smaller and it doesn't have legit multitasking, so I'm not surprised. Just gotta hook it up to the charger every night, unless I don't use it that much a particular day.

My new Galaxy Y , My first ''good processor'' phone (Well i'm 13 , my older phone was a Nokia 5200 and a old nokia that i forgot the name)

As a nerd , i already know android things from A to Z , so i won't find anything hard to do with it, plus i have TRILLIONS of apps.

for a low cost phone, it does well. I just have a annoying problem here

I have already made the ''change data to SD card'' thing via Android SDK, well it saved me alot of internal memory (256MB, ew) BUT a lot of apps , specially OS ones ,are saving data (cache) still in the internal memory , not on the SD card, so here is my actual situation. only 25MB free

user posted image

Anyone know how to force all apps to save data on the SD card?

I'll assume you all paid attention to the 2012 Google I/O event and are well aware of Jelly Bean. Well, within 12 hours there was a flashable ROM available for the Galaxy Nexus... and yes, I installed it the second I saw it.

It is excellent. Project Butter has proved to be useful as animations and navigation of the phone is virtually stutter free. There is of course still load times for apps, but that's down to the processor and storage chip capabilities. Google Now has proven itself to be useful over a dozen times, along with the new voice command features. All the other smaller things are just a nice tough. I definitely like the expanding notifications as it lets me see more content of texts and emails. At this moment, I can't find any other apps I have installed showing such notifications.

As far as the ROM goes, I've only run into one glitch. Some apps just do NOT rotate. The gallery and text messaging are two I know of that stay in portrait mode. Kinda sucks, but it's nothing terrible.

I was using my D4 since I got it up until I flashed that ROM, and as much as I love the keyboard on the D4, I don't think I'll switch back to it. In fact, quite sure I'm going to sell it. I want to take a trip back to my hometown, that'd take care of it. Besides, I'll have the GS3 soon enough to fill in the gap smile.gif After having JB on the Gnex, I really hope I can find a solid JB ROM for the GS3 by the time I get it.

It's about time you showed your face in here Pico, after I popped in here after the Jelly Bean announcement and release I was surprised to see you hadn't said anything on it. I guess you finally managed to tear yourself away eh? tounge.gif Great to hear more good reports about Jelly Bean though, I've seen nothing but good comments about it everywhere and I can't wait for the source to drop so it can get ported to my phone.

EverLost123: Sorry I'm unsure how to do that. You could always root the phone and delete any system apps that came with the phone that you don't use, which would help give you some space back.

2nd page! *bump*

anywho,I've just flashed jellybean on my S3 using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737449

However I forgot to install gaapps.zip so it just booted with JB and it barely has anything installed save for calendar, contacts, settings, internet etc. No gplay no nothing. More over it doesn't even want to boot into download mode so I can flash CWM using odin, when I hold power and vol down, It just boots normally.
Any help? I'm stuck here!

I just did a quick Google and I believe the combo for download mode is Vol Down + Home + Power, give that a shot and see if it works.

I too am rocking the Jelly Bean, pretty impressed given that right now it's not even at alpha stage (rather it's a 'preview'). A bit buggy here and there but I'm loving the minor changes that make Android feel more refined. As small a change as it is I love how fluid the lock screen feels now, on ICS it was just lacking a bit of polish but here it looks and feels great.

Assuming the issue you're running into is that the installation of the ROM somehow wiped your custom recovery (CWM), you could always download the .apk for ROM Manager and sideload it from your computer. Then you'll be able to flash CWM from ROM Manager, boot into recovery from the app, and you're set.

I've also just installed a XenonHD JB ROM from xda-dev and then flashed a Matrix kernel and holy f*ck my Nexus S is smooth as butter and faster than a Taco Bell sh*t. All the little tweaks Google put into JB are awesome, it makes the phone seem more put together than ICS did. f*cking loving it.

He was talking about Download Mode not Recovery, they are two separate things, Download Mode basically allows you to flash your phone via your PC. I've heard some stories of ROM Manager going wrong for some people so I wouldn't recommend that especially considering how new Jelly Bean is (who knows what could go wrong).

And yes Ice Cream Sandwich was a huge step forward for the UI and Jelly Bean seems to have fixed any rough edges from it. I'm definately interested to see where Google goes from here (how about merging Google Talk and SMS into a single app?)

Unless i flash my phone, which i am not that interested in doing (don't try and sway me, not something i wanna do) it's gonna be another year probably until Telstra can push out Jellybean.

Well yeah my frustruation with carriers (and also towards the manufacturer) is what led me going down the custom route. I can get updates the second they are available before even Samsung has developed them, the fact that 4.0.4 has taken so long to come to the S2 (if at all) is testament to how slow these companies are at doing things. Thank god for the community doing all their work.

And I know you said you don't want to flash but if I may ask what is the reason? Do you simply not want to void your warranty?

Well all things considered, I'd say it would be worth it to attempt to install gapps via CWM so he could get the full JB experience. I've had no issues installing anything from ROM Manager or CWM, and I've gone through many ROMs.

Given the rather low chance of anything gping amiss, especially since he can't get the device into download mode, I still stand by my advice.

We don't really know whether or not he got into download mode as his post indicated he was pressing the wrong key combo. I tried ROM Manager on my dads phone and it was useless as hell (claiming a custom recovery was installed multiple times when it had in fact, not). Given that it failed to do something properly albeit not damaging the phone, it's not too much of a stretch for it to possibly screwup and take the phone down with it. I'm sure it works for many but I'd prefer to take a different method that is tailored for the specific phone.

That (Voiding) and i don't really have much time to do it, and i don't want to screw it up or have annoying bugs present in my phone.
Besides which i am not overly excited for new android releases any-more, well not until they fix my default browser which scrolls to the very top of the page every 5 seconds and you can't stop it, which is a shame since the default browser is by far the fastest browser.

Got bored and decided to install Android 4.1.1 aka. Jelly Bean on my Galaxy SII. I like it more than ICS. Now all I got to do is wait till all the fun hackers and devs iron out the bugs.

Yep, it's extremely impressive how well it is running given that it is at pre-alpha stage for the SGS II at the moment, it will be freaking amazing once they get it working properly.

finn4life: I can understand not wanting to void your warranty or potentially mess up your phone, but I'm not exactly sure where you got the idea that they contain 'annoying bugs.' Yes they are buggy at first, but they iron them out pretty quick and get it running even better than stock. The benefit of it being community based is once they publish a release, if any bugs are found they can fix them and push out an updated version. You don't get this treatment often with manufacturers, who push out an update and if it breaks something there attitude is pretty much 'deal with it.' I haven't had the browser bug on any ROMs I've used and they've all worked brilliantly. And of course you're not going to be excited for a new OS when Samsung slaps TouchWiz on top and you literally see almost nothing new. I'm not trying to force you to root and custom ROM I just want to give you a better understanding of how custom ROMs can be better than official releases in more ways than one.

Speaking of official things, does anyone have a really inconsistent experience with Chrome? Sometimes it works fine and I love it for doing so, other times it spits the f*cking dummy and freezes when I try to simply Google something (ironic I know).

My Jellybean build has a bad case of LOS causing my battery to drain rather rapidly...but again...pre-alpha fun.

On the subject of chrome...yeah...constant freezes. Consistently constant freezes. I love the browser so much but its trying so hard to make me hate it.

ironically the batterylife on my S3 has improved drastically. The only problem I've encountered is with mobile data. It was working perfectly fine now all of a sudden it won't connect to any sort of mobile data. no idea what to try. APN is there and set as it should be. I really need to get mobile data to work. Other than that it's been rock stable. Uses much less ram that the touchwiz loaded ui.

regarding previous problem, it was voldown and lock key. I swear I was pressing it and nothing was happening. Tried laters and it worked.

Yep this is exactly how I feel. I love how the UI is and how it works but the fact it doesn't work at all sometimes drives me crazy.

matthew1g: Try enabling then disabling airplane mode, I've heard people on other phones doing that to fix something (I'm pretty sure it was data).
