Thanks. It was better to bump this topic than start a new one. I was surprised that no one beat me to posting this trailer since it had been out a short while, even with the crappy vidcam leak that occurred a few weeks ago. Maybe the hype over "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Hobbit" had something to do with that.

Absolutely pumped for this. Easily replaced Dark Knight Rises as my most anticipated film of 2012.

Even though there won't be xenomorphs in it, I really got an Alien vibe from that trailer.

The trailer also reminded me of the trailer for Alien, probably because of the same exact creepy radar-ish noise that continues throughout both trailers.



And I agree, the way the title was introduced was so f*cking kickass. Gave me goosebumps, as did seeing the Space Jockey move.

I can't f*cking wait.

I'm all for seeing something new, but if you cancel my precious alien prequel you better have something better.

It's strange though the trailer was very much like alien with a touch of dead space. Not sure what to think yet.

Holy sh*t, yes. What I love about Prometheus is that Alien and Aliens are my favourite films of all time yet it isn't just another Alien film (which, to be honest, is something I don't want after Resurection and the AvP films). It's the same universe with these subtle and intricate connections to the mythology of Alien, yet it seems to have opened up to a much more massive side of this mythology; something that has been left unexplored since the derelict scene in Alien.

This is the first time I've been excited for a film since the AvP. All I hope is that it is not utter sh*te.

This movie in a normal year (i.e. a year without Batman, the Avengers, or the Hobbit) is one that I definitely would be most looking forward to. Partially because it's linked with the Alien franchise but mostly because it looks like the best thing Scott has done in years. Not to say any of his recent movie are bad, but this one looks to be right up my alley.

I really hope his next movie is Gladiator II: the Legend of Proximo's gold.

New trailer is been released today with some shorter leaked versions popping up everywhere. The music's terrible and the editing is dodgy but some of the footage is to die for.

Also the Weyland site has been updated to include a Corporate Timeline, not only solidifying the link between Prometheus and Alien, but also between Prometheus and Aliens/Alien 3;

Can't wait. Great trailer.

I love that wailing, siren-like sound playing through the last bit of the trailer. Gives it a really haunting feel. It's the sort of thing that a lazier Hollywood director would have just used an Inception-style horn for these days.
