sorry 'bout the almost one-month old bump, but does a downloaded save file can cause a SMPA40 error? since this morning i've just downloaded a 100% save game and every time i've got wasted the game crashes to the desktop with the SMPA40 error. can anyone solve this?

note - i've modded some cars, but does parking a range rover sport (originally the huntley sport) in front of the safehouse causes the game to crash??? (since the savegame had already parked the car in front of the safehouse)

Yes, parked improperly modded cars cause this issue.

but i've managed to bypass the savefile....instead of starting in the Middle Park Safehouse (where the troublesome Range Rover Sport is located), i've manipulated the savefile to make me start in the Northwood Safehouse, and the game didin't crash at all!

It's simple - to bypass the savefile, everytime you start inside the troublesome safehouse, just re-load your game and you'll be teleported somewhere else! but you can only do that if your game is 100% and you have all of the safehouses.

I had this same error myself. Everytime I would drive a modded model a quarter mile the game would crash. So I did some testing. First I crashed with the modded model, then i drove with a regular model(with the moded model still installed) and i didnt crash. There were still cars on the road btw. I thought this was for a wide reason of other mods, but maybe my modded car was just bad

Ive got v1.7.0 and after the first 30 f*cking seconds of gameplay, i get that f*cking error!!!! What do I do???

Unpark all modded cars from parking lots, save the game, exit, removed modded cars and that should be it. If you can't remove modded cars from parking lots, you'll probably lose the savegame.
