[Rockstar Toronto]

Today we released a Maintenance Update for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV. This update ensures all copies of the game are properly aligned for the next gold master build pressing. We have also improved the resource management numbers to detect and adjust accordingly to different operating systems.

Like all previous updates, this contains all the fixes from past title updates, so there is no need to re-install previous patches if you have to re-install the game for any reason. (Update - 20th June)

To save people having to read through the whole topic, here's a quick summary of the most common issues and some potential solutions:

1) If your performance has gotten noticeably worse, go to the Game menu and ensure that Clip Capture is turned off.
2) If you get errors when installing the patch, make sure that GTA IV and Social Club aren't running.
3) Delete any mods if the game won't start. Remove any ASI files. As a last resort, try re-installing the game.
4) ATI and NVIDIA released new drivers this week, so try updating those: http://www.gta4.net/news/4266/new-drivers-...-ati-and-nvidia
5) If the game is stuttering, read this: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=404147
6) Refer to the modding forum if your mods no longer work. Things like ScriptHook require updating.

Don't use the benchmark tool to determine your game's performance, because it isn't entirely accurate. I got an extra 5-6 fps after installing the new patch, but the benchmark tool indicates otherwise. Play the game and judge for yourself.

The support pages will be up in a couple hours. This is an update more than a patch but we did optimize a few things so the game runs better.

Hey R* Toronto. Are you gonna add for the next patch:

-Gym Mod (where you can do muscles and all that like San Andreas);
-Barber Shop;
-Tatoos Shop;
-Tuning for cars.

Just wanah know, that's all.

But it was good if you made this, every people (even me) will say "GTA IV is better than GTA San Andreas".

You guys clearly are a dedicated team! I really appreciate the continuous support. There are some developers who would just leave it as is and you'd never hear of them again. Glad to see that you guys are making the difference. I am patiently awaiting the upcoming patch. Thanks so much.

No this is was the best mods I ever seen and every people like it.

I think it would be cool for Grand Theft Auto IV.

I don't think so. People have reported that their mods no longer work with this patch. Check the topic posted by adamcs.

Im 'happy' with the performance i get with IV IF you would PLEASE fix the Z-Fighting! Damn! It looks so freakin ugly! Dont say its a video driver isue, i have NV with the latest drivers.

Well all updated like a good wittle boy I am . Nothing much to report really, not seeing any difference so this isn't a major update as Rockstar clearly say. as for the all important benchie poo's :-

Before using 1.0.3.0

After Using 1.0.4.0

A slight frame rate loss but nothing to slit my wrists over or spam a fan forum about . I get the feeling this patch is more symbolically useful to me than anything else, it is great to see Toronto still there tweaking away. Hope to see patch 5 from you guys soon (you know soon rhymes with MOON) geddit geddit.
