Fact: In any game mode when you take cover it seems like your firepower increases when you attack with L2 and you can kill anyone instantly with almost any weapon. can be very useful at times.

If using a shotgun with AA on wait till you are close to your target, shoot once while standing, then crouch and shoot then stand up and shoot again. Try to do in succession, makes for faster killing of opponent

General Combat
Fact: Infernus provides an incredible amount of cover for doing driveby's. From the back, there is only a small window PLUS there is a high seat back as well. You can pretty much pull up and past any n00b, then shoot behind you without too much worry. Downside: they catch on fire pretty quickly.

If you don't mind a slower moving vehicle, the Truck (big rig, found at the Docks) or the Dumptruck are great. They both take an immense amount of damage and it's virtually impossible to hit somebody in the vehicle from behind.

Tactic: In a match with assault rifles, when ever running. Switch weapon to knife or fist, to run quicker. This works great in a begining of a TDM match when everyone scrambles for the armor or Carbine. If on ps3 remember to hold L1 and push up on the D Pad to switch right back to AK-47 or M4 quickly. Quick running can also allow you to catch someone thats running away, if they run with gun equipt.

FACT/Tactic: Quick switch
The quick switch is a useful tool, and is the way around having to cycle through your weapons.
Just hold L1 and push a different direction on D-pad to jump to different weapon types.
    Quick switching
  • L1 +up = Smg, assault rifles
  • L1 +right = grenades, molotovs
  • L1 +left = pistols
  • L1 +down = Shotguns
*default configuration
It would be nice if we could customize this to our own preference.

@Horseman of the Apocalypse: Thx for the shotgun tip. I tested it out and it works well. You can fire the shotgun as fast as you can crouch and stand. It speeds up the rate of fire for the sawed off, as you don't have to wait for him/her to cock it LOL. Nice one bro.

EDIT: O and the auto aim thing isen't a must. For Disallow I found if you wait for a player to come around a corner, It's most effective.

I dabbled with this in a shotgun match today. LOL I got some hate mail, calling me a cheater/modder LOL oh the beauty of small tricks and tactics.

@lastikboy95: Sorry bro but taking cover does not make your bullets stronger. You try taking cover against me in a disallow match, and I will own you. Add me, and I will prove it. Covers gonna get you killed in a disallow match, against the ELITE.

It is on Xbox...nice one SICKRAGE. I never knew that! I have this mental block which makes me think the SMG is a weaker weapon than the the combat shottie, so I ALWAYS go from shottie to knife, damn it`s so annoying. I`ll be testing that on my next match.

RACING

Car control: (PS3)
While car is in the air, hold the X button and move the left analog stick in the direction you want to turn the car.
This has saved me from crash landing alot Which can make the difference between a WIN or a LOSE.
ALSO: I'm pretty sure this will work on all platforms, just not sure what button you would push. (X-BOX, PC)

This isn't just a race trick, but anytime your car is in the air. some people just let off the gas before going airborne and when landing, and that also works, but you lose speed. NOT GOOD

EDIT: @ II J0SePh X II
You forgot to credit me for the quick switch, LOL no biggie though
Oh! and really nice banner you got for this thread, looks hella nice.
And if this doesn't go up in the race section, I would totally understand,
I just use it mostly in Race.

While on a bike you can turn in the air without holding the x button, it's only necessary while in a car. I do alot of stunting myself, mostly getting to hard to reach places like rooftops, with the 900.

Curbs and bikes:
Going over a Curb on a bike can be deadly. So just lean foward by holding up on the L3 stick. If you like stuntig on the 900, this will open up alot more possibilities. Especially at the airport. smile.gif

Are you sure about that? 'Cause I know I can control the tilt of a car by shifting weight with the left stick (this works when the car is on the ground, too) but I don't think I've ever held the handbrake while doing it...

I do know about the bike glitch though. As long as you're holding gas in the air, the physics are kind of screwed up, preventing you from doing complete flips. Release the gas in the air if you want to stunt with a bike.

Yeah! I'm positive, don't believe it, jump your car and give it a try.
I think you can also use R1 which is the alternate hand brake.
Try first to turn car in air, without hand brake. (won't work)
Then try turning car in the air using my method. (glory)

oh! and the bike thing isen't a glitch, but a trick.

This thread gets my vote for "Best MP Thread of the Year" (so far)!!!

I am going to print out the OP and tape it to my beer fridge!!! lol

About controling cars in the air: I actually use the Sixaxis control...and it works VERY well. Just tilt the controller in the direction you wish your vehicle to go and it does! Wanring: sometimes hard not to 'Over-Steer', but once you get it...it really helps!

I have a GTA Race Tip...but have to wait til I get home from work.

EXCELEENT POST!!! Thanks! icon14.gif icon14.gif
