SettingDate and location:It's set in Liberty City (IV era), in the year 2010. It's the same city as CTW's. The whole city is open from the beginning, as in CTW. Not much special about the setting. Alderney isn't included.
Story:The year 2010, Liberty City. Liberty City born Jamaican Jimar Davis has just returned from his first trip 3 year trip to Jamaica. Back in Liberty City, Jimar is broke and needs money fast, so he visits his old friend Little Jacob. Jacob lets him stay at Badman's appartment complex. He quickly goes back to the way he used to roll: Dealing and killing. He does some errands for Little Jacob and later for Badman and becomes a pot dealer again. He also works for "The Plant", another Jamaican who grows weed and works for Badman. He has his own crew. Both groups have territory in Schottler, and both work together. The Plant gives Jimar a secluded safehouse in Northwood.
Around that time, someone contacts him 'saying that Jimar should pick him up'. It's his grandfather from Jamaica (known as Grandpa), visiting to see how Jimar is doing.
Grandpa stays in Badman's appartment complex. From the moment, he will occasionally mail you his opinion about the things that happen to Jimar and the other Jamaicans.
Grandpa, who used to grow weed himself back in Jamaica, sends Jimar a email that they could start growing if Jimar has a secluded place. They choose the Northwood safehouse. Grandpa teaches Jimar and after that mission, you can enter your potfarm by a extra door in every secluded safehouse (they all lead to the same potfarm though).
From that point, Grandpa will ocassionally send you advice (for example: 'Water your crops' or 'Time to harvest').
Jimar has now earned enough respect to get some backup from the Hillside Posse. You can now use your PDA to select 'Backup'. 3 Jamaicans, all with Micro SMGs will now join you and follow you around.
A couple of missions after that, LJ and Badman organise a huge pot deal with a gang from the Carribean. The police bust the deal. LJ and Badman escape, but crooked private detective Wade Heston finds Jimar. He decides not to arrest him but instead let him do his dirty work.
The Jamaicans have nothing now, the Carribean gang stole their money. Heston, a experienced stoner himself, gives him the adress of 'Kyle', a Jewish pot grower who recently cut his connections with his previous buyers.
Jimar continues to work with LJ, Badman and Heston. He visits the Jew, who is more then happy to supply the Jamaicans, in exchange for a few errands, varying from picking up his nephew at the airport to killing his arch enemy Martcan.
LJ and Badman's jobs are mostly about killing rival dealers and growers, and stealing weed shipments. Heston’s are about keeping him out of trouble.
After Kyle's mission you can occasionally visit his growhouse, where he will sell you weed for extremely low prices.
Heston decides to let Jimar go. Jimar does some more jobs for LJ and Badman and also for N.H.H. leader Sean Carlson.
During one of LJ’s jobs, Jimar is meant to steal a van full of weed from the North Algonquin oil depot. Some black streetgang is waiting there for him and tries to kill him. Jimar kills them and escapes with the van.
North Holland Hustlers leader Sean Carlson contacts him, saying that M.O.B. is behind the assassination attempt, as an attempt to take out the Jamaicans best man and corner the weed market themselves. N.H.H. and the Jamaicans go to war with M.O.B.
They deal some heavy blows to M.O.B., eventually letting the N.H.H. take over the Firefly Projects and kill the M.O.B. leader. The Jamaicans and N.H.H. keep working together.
Near the end of the storyline, N.H.H. and the Jamaicans make this big weed deal with the Russians. Everything goes wrong, the Russians and N.H.H. betray the Jamaicans attacking Badman, LJ and Jimar. Badman gets shot. Jimar and LJ get him to the hospital, but at the hospital, there is one more suprise: Crooked cop Wade Heston. He arrests Badman and says he wants to help out the Jamaicans. Jimar and LJ tell him to piss off.
LJ and Jimar decide to make the N.H.H. and Sean pay for what he did.
After that, 2 new missions open up, one in Firefly Project and one in North Holland. In the FF Project, you have to kill a lot of N.H.H. members standing around the area. After that the Jamaicans take over the area. In North Holland, you drive a pick-up truck and LJ sits in the back, shooting N.H.H. members with a minigun. After that, the Jamaicans take over the area.
Later, Jimar and LJ are at the apartments again. Heston joins them, making them an offer. The player gets a choice:
Kill Wade HestonHelp Wade Heston arrest Sean Carlson. Heston will release Badman if they do so.Kill Wade Heston:Jimar decides that LJ will go and free Badman from the Police Station while he goes to Sean’s South Algonquin warehouse, where he and his last men are holed up. Before Jimar kills him, Sean tells him that the guys who tried to kill him where his, all so he could take out the Jamaicans and M.O.B. Badman, LJ and Jimar meet again at the apartment, with Grandpa. LJ and Badman announce that they're going back to Jamaica, and the Jamaicans split up, leaving only The Plant's crew, with now territory in Schotler, Firefly Project and North Holland. Jimar is now free to do what he wants, much like Huang at the end of CTW.
Help Wade Heston:Just as Jimar agrees to help Heston, he gets a email, saying that N.H.H. are attacking The Plant’s growhouse. Sean Carlson is there aswell. The 3 go to the growhouse, kill every N.H.H. inside, and Heston arrests Sean. Before Heston arrests him, he tells Jimar that the guys that tried to kill him where his, all part of his plan to take out M.O.B. and the Hillside Posse. Badman is released and LJ and Badman announce that they're going back to Jamaica, and the Jamaicans split up, leaving only The Plant's crew, with now territory in Schotler, Firefly Project and North Holland. Jimar is now free to do what he wants, much like Huang at the end of CTW.
Gangs & Characters:-All CTW gangs are in the game with the same territory as in CTW.
Hillside Posse:The Hillside Posse are Jimar and LJ's gang. Their leader is Badman. They split up and are disband at the end of the game.
JimarA Liberty City born Jamaican who just returned from his first trip to Jamaica. He comes back broke and starts working with his old friends LJ and Badman again.
Little JacobWe know him from GTA IV...
Leaves to Jamaica after Sean is killed, together with Badman.
BadmanSame as with LJ. In Jamaican Wars, you can actually understand (read) what he says, unlike in GTA IV where he is quite hard to understand.
Goes to Jamaica with LJ after Sean is killed.
GrandpaJimar's grandfather, the father of Jimar's mother. Jimar's grandmother died a long time ago. Jimar only just met his grandfather on his trip to Jamaica. Grandpa is a wise man, who used to grow his own weed back in Jamaica. He often gives Jimar advise.
The PlantA Jamaican, like Jimar. He has his own crew and supplies Badman with weed. At the end of the game, only his Jamaican gang is left.
KyleA Jew who grows his own weed. He has his own crew. Jimar befriends him and Kyle starts supplying the Jamaicans. Operates in Middle Park West, grows in a house there. Believes what he does isn't wrong. He goes to the synagoge every week, stoned. Has a grudge with Martcan, a racist and his childhood enemy.
MartcanKyle's childhood enemy. A fat white racist with his own crew. Tries to kill Kyle. After that Jimar kills him.
Sean CarlsonThe leader of N.H.H. who is killed in the last mission after betraying the Jamaicans.
Wade HestonA crooked Private Inspector we know from CTW. Gives you missions from his new house in Meadow Hills.
GameplayDrug dealing:The drug dealing will still be around, but this time, all you sell and buy is weed. It may sound boring, but there will be 10 kinds of weed (4 low value, 3 medium, 3 high), and you can sell to both other dealers and civilians (only in remote locations like alleys). Getting busted rewards you with a 2 level wanted system.
In your secluded safehouses, you can start growing weed, then once every week you'll be able to pick up some free weed.
Selling to dealers will let you sell more at the same time, selling to civilians will only sell you a small amount. The prices are roughly the same.
After helping Kyle, the player will be able to be very cheap weed at Kyle's growhouse in Middle Park.
Growing your own weed:After Grandpa's arrival, he will help you grow weed. You can enter them by going to a secluded safehouse, and then touch the extra door. They all lead to the same farm. Inside the farm will be like 40 empty pots. Touching one of them brings up your holdall where you keep your weed. Touch one of them and the game will ask if you want to plant the weed. Press Yes and you'll plant the weed. A little sign will show you what weed you're growing.
On the top screen is a information panel showing you how far each plant has to go before being watered, harvested etc. It also shows you the upgrades you have for your weed growing facilities.
Every three ingame days you will get a email telling you to water your plants. It will offer you to set up a GPS route to your growhouse. Pick up the watering can and hold it over the plants until the soul turns dark (indicating it's wet).
After two succesful feeds (six days) you will receive an email telling you to harvest your crop. Go back to the cannabis farm and pick the leaves off using the stylus. The amount of weed you get from each plant depends on what strain it is, what lighting etc. you have and how well you've looked after it.
If you don't feed your plants, the harvest day is set back another three days, meaning you have to wait longer before you get the profits. If you miss for feeds the plant will die.
In your cannabis farm you can upgrade your facilities:
-Lightning system: Larger crops
-Irrigation system: Starting off with a watering can you can upgrade it to water more plants at once untill eventually it automaticly waters them for you.
-Your Feed: Better feeds increases speed and can also produce stronger strains (Weak Strain + Top Feed = Medium strain, for example).
Raiding warehousesThis time there are 3 around the city. It are growhouses you can enter, then you have to kill everyone and find the stash with harvested weed. Make your getaway to a secluded safehouse and you win. New weed will be in the stash box every 24 hours.
