Why does this game even exist? I played it, and it was a horribly dumbed down version to make it work on GBA. I guess R* just wanted to make a few more easy bucks.
Releasing the game the same day as San Andreas was also a bad marketing strategy for this game. If I remember correctly, most fans of GTA didn't even realized it was or had been released for the GBA. Too many people were hyped up about San Andreas and for good reasons too!
I didn't really like the game, because I'm too used to playing the newer GTA games (I like CTW though, because of all the good graphics). this place is dead because of the people who dont really like Advance I guess.

I think this has more to do with it than anything. It didn't help that game reviewers often saw GTA: Advance right after playing San Andreas which was absolutely mindblowing at the time.
Perhaps if Rockstar had released it in 2003, between Vice City and San Andreas, it might've done a little better. No modding support further reduced the appeal too.

I know it's a bump but a new thread isn't needed. Obviouly people still play this game but they don't come here and post about it, they just play it, etc. I've yet to even play this game at all since it's probably rare to find now and it's not worth getting it. I barely use my Advance console anyways, so no point of getting it.
This game is probably lost in time, since GBAs are hard to come by, etc. It's really only essential now for canon purposes cause of GTA 3. Gameplay wise, I think it's dead.

I remember when I picked up GTA San Andreas from preorder, I saw GTA Advance on the shelves and bought it just to have another game to play after SA. It was actually not too bad, but there really was close to no information about this title. It just came. In all honesty, this could have been a better and more successful game if they just took more time on it; and didn't release it on the same day as GTA San Andreas.

It came out the day before GTA SA but I know what you meant. In all honesty I don't think it should of ever been released. Who actually bought it? Who has a GBA? Half of the people that have played it have played it of an emulator so... yeah.

I think that GTA Advance was a worthy experiment and it was the first and last game of the series that was released for Gameboy Advance. It was an experiment like the GTA IV add-ons were, with the difference that TLaD and TBoGT were big DLCs while Advance was a full game on a platform which has hardware that is obviously inferior compared to any console out there.
