I really like the first mission Sergi, not something we're use to in Grand Theft Auto, being thrown into the middle of a gun fight in the first mission; but I like it! I was reading it while listening to the theme song and it really fit. Good choice of music.

I'm guessing the general story is about Dwayne getting revenge on the Spanish Lords (you called them Kings by mistake) and retrieving your coke? That would make a pretty interesting game if you ask me; I'm really liking this. I'm jealous I didn't come up with it first. tounge.gif

As I had mentioned earlier the game will have alot of twist and turns but just to clear up any confusion the Spanish Kings(or Lords) aren't responsible for the loss cocaine or money. The Spanish Kings will play a vital part to the story but they aren't the main bad guys. I'll make it more evident in the missions to come that the whole deal was sabatoged and that the North Holland Hustlers and the Spanish Kings are going to be fighting because the Spanish Kings believe Dwayne is behind the death of those Spanish Kings at that project and behind the death of Big Slick who was a big figure in the gang. However Dwayne is trying to fine out who sent those shooters and in turn stole that money and coke while fighting the Spanish Kings and trying to let them know he wasn't behind the situation.

Also on the name change part I just thought it fir better. The Spanish Lords is a real gang based out of Chicago in the People Nation. While the Spanish Lords in IV are based off the Latin Kings who are also based out of Chicago and the People Nation but have spread nationwide, I just thought re naming the Spanish Lords to Spanish Kings fit better since there should be no confusion as well as it being more evident they're based off the Latin Kings. Even though the real Spanish Lords and the IV Spanish Lords have nothing in common except name since they sport different colors I still think there could be some sort of confusion.

I 've also thought about Dwayne's backstory. He literally ran North Holland, Northwood and Bohan starting out as little more than a two-bit crack dealer on a street corner . Is there anyone more appropriate for a Grand Theft Auto episode then this guy? To top it all off set against the backdrop of late 80's-early 1990's New York; classic hip-hop and R&B, fashion, tv references, etc.

Imagine building up his empire from scratch and then seeing how it all unwravelles, the events which preceeded his incarceration. Racing against time knowing he's got nothing to loose; taking his revenge against his betrayers before it's all over. I could dig that.

Have you got a general plot worked out in your head? Figured out how Dwayne is going to come into contact with all these characters? How big a role they're going to plat? Etc. I'm not doubting you; I'm just interested to know what you've got. smile.gif

Yeah the general plot is pretty much done. I'm going to pretty much let the plot get told by the missions and cutscenes. When the missions are done I'm going to make a general storyline brief that tells all the info on the story but I'd much rather let the missions be done before I do that or the missions and the secrets within them won't have as much vauableness as you can just read the storyline over view instead of seeing the missions detailed.

All the characters that have been mentioned in the character list all play major roles in the game's story as either contacts, antagonist or just important people. Other people such as Big L's girlfriend that was introduced in the mission 2 cutscene is pretty important but she isn't a major character in the game. The same goes for Playboy X. He'll be introduced in the story but he'll get introduced around mission 35. I have a neat way of introducing Playboy and showing how he and Dwayne became so close that Dwayne basically made him his apprentice even though in the storyline Playboy would have only been 9.

Go right ahead. As I told you the concept is that a Liberty City Chronicles brand could tell numerous stories in Liberty City from numerous time periods with different characters and events and so on. I have no problem with that, however I just ask that if you do make a Liberty City Chronicles thread you give me my full credit for the Liberty City Chronicles name and concept. If you want my help I have no problem with helping you.

Of course you would get full credit for the original idea smile.gif, I'mthinking of basing mine on petty crime rather than large crack gangs, probably not into plagiarism or anything based in Alderney, maybe Broker though.

That would be an interesting concept. Petty crime criminals in GTA that is since in most GTA's the characters have all done major crimes and made major money. With a petty criminal it could be more of an emotional type story as a petty criminal usually doesn't make enough money off his or her crimes to really support themselves so I think it could be a very interesting idea.

The Teaser poster has been added and a section dedicated to it.The art is made by .Rafto and if you are a fan of this concept I suggest you look at the art as it's wonderful. I don't know how to put the art on the main post but as soon as I find out I'll put it there instead of the link. Also I'll be adding more gameplay info, new characters and 3 new missions later on that will be posted later on tonight.

I'm going to continue with it but as of right now it's going to be inactive for awhile. I have some things to finish up in my personal life so this is going on the back burner for awhile and that's why I haven't been very active in the forums in the last week or so.

Thanks for the feedback. Also yes CJ was in LC at this time but as I'm an advocate of the GTA-verse being interlinked the III LC is simply another part of Liberty State and IV LC is the main LC while Portland, Staunton and Shorside Vale are parts of "Upstate Liberty".

Also a new character has been added based on Notorious B.I.G as well as the description on the 1st trailer in the Trailers section.

I just thought of a few extra characters who could make an appearance in Liberty City Chronicles:
  • Jermaine Andrews: A 16-year-old (32 at the time of GTA IV) member of Money Over Bullsh*t. He works for a Pay 'N' Spray in Gibson Street, Broker during the time of Grand Theft Auto IV. He is also believed to be involved in several low priority hijackings in the South Broker area.
  • Javier, Jesus & Jose Trunchez: Three brothers and members of the Spanish Lords. They take control of the Triangle Club in Bohan after Dwayne gets put inside. Niko then kills them, thus relinquishing the control of the club back to Dwayne, in GTA IV.
  • Lyle Rivas: The older brother of Tom Rivas (AKA "French Tom") and ex-member of the Spanish Lords. He is a mechanic and a fence for stolen cars, and also has ties to illegal street racing. Lyle would be 14 at the time of Liberty City Chronicles.
  • Willy Valerio: A member of the Northwood Dominican Drug Dealers (co-leader in 2008). Valerio is said to be trying to expand the gang's drug dealing horizons but is having serious trouble due to African-American gangsters in the area. He would be 14 at the time of Liberty City Chronicles.
  • Teddy Benavidez: Another member of the Northwood Dominican Drug Dealers. He is co-leader, alongside Willy Valerio, in 2008. He is killed by Niko Bellic on the orders of Ray Boccino in GTA IV. Teddy lives in an apartment block in East Holland, Algonquin on the 23rd floor. He is two years younger than Willy and would be 12 at the time of Liberty City Chronicles.
  • Alonso Gomez: Yet another member of the Northwood Dominican Drug Dealers. He may be killed by Niko Bellic during the mission "A Long Way To Fall" though it is completely optional. He would only be 7 during Liberty City Chronicles though, so may not be a good candidate.
  • Oscar Gomez: Alonso's older brother and another member of the Northwood Dominican Drug Dealers. He is embroiled in the world of illegal street fighting alongside Luis Fernando Lopez. He is said to be very concerned with his brother's connection in the criminal world. He is three years older than his brother, making him 10 at the time of Liberty City Chronicles.
What do you think?

Yeah I like them I'll add some of them but a major reason I didn't put alot of characters from IV in here as opposed to completely original characters is because some of the characters in IV I just don't think would have played major roles in a Dwayne story from the 90s or were even relevant in the 90s. With the new characters I created I was able to have completely new people who have links to certain characters who showed up in IV without having to be tied down to actually having the charcters from IV be there just to be there.

I understand what you mean. Though I'm sure a few characters can make minor appearances here and there. I'm not expecting you to populate your story with younger versions of GTA IV's cast because that would be stupid and rather boring, to be frank. I like the direction you've taken this though.

Can you expect to see some visual changes to Liberty City? How much different could we expect it to be?

Yeah certain characters will be in the actual game but the people with bios are playing vital roles in the game and appear quite often. There's a reason Playboy X doesn't have a bio. He's vocal to Dwayne's story but in my plans he doesn't appear ofen in the game except about 6 times.

Also to be blunt LC will look almost identical to LC circa 2008 except it'll be a lot grittier, alot of buildings won't be constructed yet while others will be constructed that weren't in IV as they were demolished. Star Junction will look alot different the Star Junction in IV. I'm going to have some visual representations later on but to give you an idea it will be full of porn shops, strip clubs, hookers, drug dealers, pimps and overall skum just like how Times Square really was in the mid 80s to mid 90s.
