I just started the game and played until the stadium level, and it's being a pretty good game. It was a bit tricky for me to get familiar with the controls, specially because it was a long time since I played the last action game in a console. As a brazilian, one thing that I didn't like was the voice work for Rodrigo Branco and some of the brazilian cops. They sound more like spanish/mexicans trying to speak english. The voicework for the 'favelados' is awesome, but the cops and the rich people speaks too right, and no one actually talks like them. Another thing is what a lot of people already listed: the problem with checkpoints and the fact that you have to play a whole mission again, since the very beginning, if you die. That's annoying. But at all, the game is pretty good. I missed the old comics explaining the story - and even some metaphorics sayings from Max -, but the storytelling works well. Now let's see what the multiplayer looks like. This post has been edited by Eagles on Wednesday, May 23 2012, 22:00

It's not very scientific but I got a small feeling like that too about Passos - his accent sounds just like Fernando Alonso the spanish F1 driver. I don't think the checkpoint lengths are too bad. There was a couple of times where I was in red up to the neck and hoping the next cutscene would come up so it'd save.

Exactly, I forgot about Passos' accent. When he was asking the bandit that was almost dying at the stadium level, I thought that he was American, but then I remembered that he was also a Brazilian. His voice actor was surely not a Brazilian, as it should be.

Im pretty sure Dan Houser just wanted a character based on himself. Bald, fat, and so drunk on whiskey that he dosnt even know whats going on. Max Payne should just be a pillhead and bollocks to the alchohol. But then again, I dont really consider MP3 to be a real Max Payne story, its more like Dan Housers fanfiction. |
I don't get you, man. You come on here purely to troll and hate anything associated with Rockstar games, all while pretending to be British, very poorly at that. What is your agenda here exactly? Honestly, I'm having a hard time trying to find a compelling reason for us not to ban you. |

Seriously, let him say whatever he wants. Because all he wants is to call people's attention just to get awards like the one he is using now.
Thats it. Comedian of the year. |
Comedian of the year? lol I never noticed that. I thought the medal was for 'bitch of the year'. O.T. Can't believe some people have already completed MP3, hate those tempting spoilers as well. Waiting to get my hands on the PC version.

I swear i thought Max was gonna die at the end, also ever since i saw Victor in the trailer saying "we're all targets" i knew he was the bad guy, the game revealing he was a politician just confirmed it to me, also i thought Da Silva was gonna die as well i don't know why. |
Jumbo spoilers I wish Da Silva wasn't in the finale, it should have just been Max. Max on his own is Max at his best. But yeah, him dying would have been clichéd as f*ck.
I like how the main theme of MP3 is forgiveness and how the series has made a full circle with MP1 being about revenge. Max letting Passos and Victor go shows how he's realized that revenge doesn't solve anything, just start more suffering like the first two games. By forgiving Passos, and to a lesser extent Victor and Becker (if you don't kill him), he can move on. That's why he can rest at the end, he's at peace with himself. I'm glad Passos didn't turn out to be a boss fight as I was expecting, it was refreshing.| QUOTE | | I was happy to see Max chilling on the beach in Bahia, if MP4 ever gets made i hope Remedy get a part in the development. |
I actually don't want MP4, don't really see where it can go from here. I mean, what's going to happen, is Max going to get depressed again?

I was happy to see Max chilling on the beach in Bahia, if MP4 ever gets made i hope Remedy get a part in the development. | I didn't think that Victor would be an antagonist, but I thought that Passos would be the main one. And when we first came across Da Silva, I thought he would end up betraying us somehow, too.
I agree about a Max Payne 4, though. It seems like Max is finally at peace with himself, and I don't know where it could go from there. If this really is the final game in the series, then I'd say it's a fitting conclusion. Honestly, I loved the story throughout.

If this really is the final game in the series, then I'd say it's a fitting conclusion. | Well, when you think about it, the last two games both ended with it feeling like he was at peace with himself, but they still managed to fit in some sequels. But yeah, I'm not expecting a Max Payne 4 any time soon. A remake/"reimagining" of the first game is a possibility though...
