On topic, I personally didn't buy into the INSTANT ATTRACTION Niko and Kate shared in that first mission introduction. It was almost comical that R* should set her up as a potential love interest so obviously. I did enjoy her character though, at least as the relationship progressed. I wouldn't say I was thrilled to not take it further after the final mission. The dust had settled, the violence had dissolved, Niko had achieved his moral victory. At least an optional, end-game marriage quest in the vain of Red Dead Redemption would have been nice. But, I suppose it wouldn't have fit with the narrative of a tragedy.

Kate is a really believable and down to earth character that contrasts well with the other Mcreary nutjobs. There's one thing that her character missed though, and that was sex appeal. She was frumpy. But it's a videogame, right?.

As I say in my tagline, live, die, who cares about the score - just play the game and keep the in forum chat to that as well. On topic: on the PC, Kate definitley likes Modo, but not Perseus or Russian (with the exception of glasses I believe).

The rest of this conversation is hilarious. It's a computer game! The only real reason to date Kate is you will find more out about Niko and the McRearys when they talk - but if you're not interested in the plot, don't bother as there are no gameplay benefits. IMO though, if you are not interested in the plot, get interested, because it is excellent.

I never saw Kate as a love interest just platonic freinship, You took her out as a favour to Patrick, she was stuck inside looking after Ma McCreary most the time so you as 'Niko' took her out for quality time or whatever you want to call it.

As Jimbatron say's it gives you a chance to explore Niko from a different perspective to the gangsters he's normally surrounded with.

The relationship is similar to Vincent and Mia in the film Pulp Fiction

Heh, it's been my experience (talking with 'good' Catholic girls) that they cross themselves silly all the time, but when the lights go down so do they. Never assume that because somebody is a 'good' Catholic they're all christian-science monitor types.
