I wish . . . |
You my friend have good taste in cars, I actually have owned two galant vr4s. Not that year though. |
I am looking in to buying a 7th gen used US version with V4 2.0L with like 150 hp as my first car. I see them around alot in my neighborhood so I figure it would be easy to repair and such.
Once I gather enough time and money though, I might import a VR4 twin turbo from Japan and have it converted to left hand drive. Now that would be fun to drive. |
hmmmmm, I would stay away from the 7th gen. The only good ones are the 6th gen and the 8th gen, never owned drove or seen an 8th gen VR4. Although i have had two VR4 6th gens they are in my opinion the best sleeper cars created. I only had a buch of BOP mods on my Galant and it's best time was 11.9 @ 120 somethin...
Good cars. |
Sorry, I meant 8th Gen. Like the one above. Pretty good time you got posted there. I would be aiming for 13's stock on the VR-4, IIRC. Anyway, expect to see a white Galant in the Post a Pic of Your Car Thread soon. I'm just having problems finding a manual. This post has been edited by Drunk Russian 9 on Sunday, Mar 29 2009, 16:59

And also, the VR4 you need can't be used from the 3000GT, you would need to buy a VR4 Galant engine, because they are oriented differently. Very difficult project, but if you have the money, it's very possible.

I'm going to try to import one from Japan, a full VR-4 TT. That is, when I have the money. Right now I'm starting on a lesser car. Thanks for the note. This post has been edited by Drunk Russian 9 on Sunday, Mar 29 2009, 17:03

My info to you would be, if you want to make a real VR4 AWD and everything try to find an AWD 8th gen galant. Only if they made one. IF and only if you really want to import a VR4 from japan. use these guys www.japanpartner.com a buddy of mine got an EVO 3 to America with them, they have very good prices.

Thanks, seems they have a small selection of 8G VR-4 Galants though. You can get a cheap Skyline from there though, they have tons of them. Only one I found that's 4WD is here. 2.8 grand . . . runnin on a 4G93 with 26,500 Mi., manual. Pretty ideal to me, I might actually buy this car. Has everything I need. Has everything I need. | Evert so often they have more 8th gen VR4 Galants, you may get luck and see a Legnum. Those are apart of the sexy and powerful wagon club. If I could of got the RS6 in a wagon I SO would of, but no wagons came to America. Their Nissan cars are pretty high, however, they usually have good prices on Toyota's, Mitsubishi's, & Honda's. I still kinda dream about having a Legnum VR-4, I think I would kill for one. America got the same treatment on Legnums as we did on RS6 Avants, we never got them. I think the American 8th gen Galants are just bastardized versions of the UK & Japan version of the Galant. The interior of the American Galants is sooooo boring and plain where as the over seas version is much nicer and more well appointed. On that note I will ad a new favorite car. Porsche 911 GT3 RS
