Does anyone have an idea what we are doing for Church btw? I can't believe I'm saying this but I would suggest Phantom Menace because we haven't done that in a while.
To make sure that I don't join every party and pretty much ruin the mood if anyone asks about my father, I'll just keep everyone updated on here. So... Y'know, sorry if I joined someone's party in the last few days and ruined the mood by basically telling the age old story of my father whilst next to tears. ...So, yeah. Sorry.
Anyway, he's now been hooked up to a very high tech Oscillator. I can't for the life of me remember the actual name, it was something like OSMB machine or something like that. To save you a google search, an oscillator is somewhat different to a ventilator. A ventilator causes the lungs to rise and fall, whereas my dad needs the other, where it keeps the lngs in a constant state of openness, and gives slight vibration to the air to help with the diffusion of gases to help carry the oxygen into the bloodstream. (Also, sorry if you knew all that. I don't want to give it in baby words or anything. :I)
So... The problems are that with him still being in a state of critical condition, he could be fantastic one hour, and then stats to crash the next. The Oscillator is another hazard, as there is no 'exit' strategy. This means that once it's on him, it's VERY tricky to get off, which in most cases will be curtains drawn for the patient, as they may become dependent.
The reason WHY he needs this, is because his new lung isn't working. It's being pressured by his immune system which is already very weak, as the doctors needed to do this, otherwise the lung would be outcast by his body, and it would slowly decay.
So, seeing as though my father likes to make a scene and generally be the drama queen of the entire room, he is... Not doing very well. I only went to see him today after him being in there for three days already.
I couldn't but... I felt I wanted to. My mum walked me in and then said she'll be outside. I walked over to my dads side, looked at him and simply burst into tears. I simply said I love him, and I'll see him tomorrow, and then walked out, got into my car and drove home.
It's hard because you have about thirteen monitors above you beeping away, telling you all sorts of information that means absolutely nothing but daunting readings to you. It all got a bit too much.
Good news, though. I suppose. The oscillator means he'll be awake tomorrow, so when I go to see him I'm going to do it alone. I don't know why but... Challenging myself like that seems to make me more encouraged. The only thing is, he already has three tubes in his mouth. Air, food, and temperature. So he wont be able to talk back, but he'll be able to acknowledge me. I hope.
Again guys, your support has been overwhelming. Me and my mum had a little giggle over how random people on the internet who I consider friends are so helpful, yet I've never met any of you. So thank you, and I'm sorry for making such a drama out of it all. I guess if I let it out it makes me feel a little happier. :3
Cheers.

Damn doughnutty I'm so sorry to hear that dude, but you know we are all a bunch of down to earth guys when we need to be and you can talk to us. I know some people will be able to relate better than I can, but If you want a chat just ask
On another note I moved some of my stuff down to the student accommodation in Plymouth, I'm starting next saturday so will be moving my xbox and Tv down there so you won't see me friday/saturday most probably. I am now the proud owner of a hell of a load of kitchen stuffs and a mini fridge in my room, win! But I should be there for church on sunday unless I go out with the only person I know that's on my course xD
Doughnutty, as I've said before in party chat, I really hope your father gets better. I couldn't imagine losing someone that close to me. Feel free to talk to us about it whenever you need to.
Epic turnout for church, King playing on his own in a free mode... Sad times . Sorry I didn't join you King. I was exhausted from one of the best weekends of my life and wanted to just chill out listening to tunes. Hopefully activity will improve once summer ends and more information about GTA V is released. I still think we should continue trying to develop the gang as we don't want to become complacent.
Old Windsor was amazing btw. I'll tell you more about it in party chat. I might even have a picture or two to show you .
Swoon - Get back online you skunk pussy .
Sorry to hear about your Dad Oli, hope he gets better soon.

F*cking seriously? Perhaps we need to have a discussion about either holding church every other week or maybe even putting a hold on it indefinitely if the turnout rate doesn't increase. I don't blame anyone for not turning up, we all have our reasons be them RL priorities or simply not wanting to play GTA but really we need to talk about this guys and frankly at this point I don't give two sh*ts about keeping this sort of discussion to the private forums though I won't object to someone opening a new thread there for this debate.

That may not be a bad idea, we could try having it every two weeks, and if all else fails try holding it once a month perhaps? I pretty much can't make church anymore even if I tried. Since school started my job has had me working through all of my free time (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) so I can get a decent paycheck, so I'm using all of my down time to try to catch up on school work, trying to improve on my in real social life, and I'm also trying to get into shape; generally trying to better myself. On top of that I've been getting bored of Xbox. Not to mention whenever I've been thinking of coming on, nobody is online.
Also, last week I rented a BF3 server for a month. Anyone up for exploring the Armored Kill maps Tuesday?
To be fair, you two don't even want to play GTA anymore. If this is anything that should be discussed then it should be discussed by the people who still like to attend Church regularly. (Guru, Sweaty, Booze, Alien, Cal, exc.) I just think this week was one of those where people couldn't make it. Our RC never even posted a event list this week, which is something Sweaty did during his time as RC even when he wasn't going to be able to host Church. So I guess some people may have thought that Church wasn't going to happen this weekend because Diggdy was away and didn't post any Church events. I personally think that there is no need for a discussion but if some regular Church goers think there is then I will fight for it to stay as a weekly thing because I enjoy it.
You have got a point King but on the contrary, Toke cant make church even if he wanted to and Beep has been busy recently. I was saying last night what King has just reiterated, I do think the RC should post a guideline for church even if they cant attend as that way atleast people know its still happening.
Its not the end of the world anyway. It is summer after all and we cant expect to have huge numbers every Sunday. Yesterday was just unfortunate.

Sweaty, I know summer factors a part into it but from having 10 - 12 people every week to having 4 - 5 is pretty diabolical, I'm not blaming the people that don't show up Busy/Life/Work etc and I actually like the small Churches being less chaotic means you can actually communicate with people in certain events where you can't normally but it is a shame to watch the attendance drop so suddenly like that.
In my opinion we do need to play GTA more because when one person goes on it the rest of the party does and everyone enjoys it King and Guru in particular try to encourage other people to play it a lot I've noticed and in doing so they usually entice me to play it.
In other news, I just had my first morning in College (Free Period till 2 then back again) and it's a weird place because pretty much everyone in the years above went to my old school it's like being in Year 7 again.
Also, because Borderlands 2 is just around the corner does anyone feel like helping me beat the DLC from the first game?
Cal - I totally agree, we just need more people to be enthusiastic about playing it. We have to remember its still the best game on the xbox 360 and all the amazing times we have on it when we get a handful of people playing it.
In regards to Borderlands, I'm still recuperating from the weekend and I'm not really down for a hardcore game session but I'll probably join you on it sometime in the week.

Dafuq? That's like saying because I'm not gay I shouldn't have a view on gay rights.
I was on GTA two weeks ago in a full eight man party (which included you) for almost two hours. Not only did no one join the free mode I was in (which was not only open and comprised of only me and three others) but no one even asked what I was doing let alone join. Why? Because no one gave a rats ass. Not to mention the free mode I believe you, Guru, Cal and I was in a few weeks ago. To say I don't want to play GTA is a falsehood, I'm just not too keen on playing it by myself.
But you do bring up a good point about the RC not posting church details. The mere fact that no one else stepped up to do it as usual is also a big indicator that interest is waning. And I WOULD rack that up to people just being busy but attendance has been slowly dropping for while now.
I'd suggest doing it Bi-Monthly/Fort-Nightly that what we do.
We feel doing it weekly is a pain in the ass, and if we have it every second week it gives people a little more chance to actually attend so they know it's coming and they can plan for the weekend before or after.
Plus if you do it less often it people will begin to miss it, and it makes gathering as a group more entertaining as it gives you something to do and or talk about as apposed to doing it to often and therefore it just being 'another day in the office'.
But that's just my advice/opinion.
I've noticed you guys have been talking about Borderlands?
Has anyone been following the details on Borderlands 2? I'm a huge fan of the first but I'm concerned Two will be pure sh*t, care to inform me?
Mr Reaper - We have quite a large roster and had 8-12 people attend church consistently for quite some time. Its only in recent weeks our activity has diminished and I'm sure we're fully capable of continuing to run church on a weekly basis for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your concern though.
On the subject of Borderlands, I think the sequel will be better in all honesty. They seemed to have concentrated on comedy and making the missions more diverse which is great imo.
