You find diamond when mining and it appears on levels from bedrock, to level 16 (which is 16 layers about bedrock). It is the rarest ore in the game and I generally find it in really large caves, mostly near lava. Just keep mining and you will eventually find it. It is hard at first but once you find some, it tends to get easier to find more as you get the general idea of where it is.


Gunpowder is obtained from "Creepers." They don't always blow up, sometimes they die and leave gunpowder, either one of two peaces. You can also find gunpowder in a chest when you find a Mob Spawner.

As you can probably gather, I didn't explain it very well, so the Minecraft Wiki would be useful. (Ignore the PC references on it such as the "Silk Touch" as the update hasn't come out on Xbox yet)

Am i the only one who thinks that Jeb f*cked up minecraft pretty well? Because, damn.. Notch wouldn't even made such things. I noticed something was wrong, not "Notchy" then i found out Jeb was the leading developer..

Considering how smoothly Minecraft runs for me compared to before, I'd say Jeb's leadership fixed it up quite well, in terms of both performance and gameplay. Notch was the creative genius behind many features we still see being developed today, yet his methods turned out to be rather chaotic. Under his development, releases were littered with unwanted bugs more so than they were with wanted features, as he implemented ideas as soon as they popped into his head.

Notch is more of a creator and innovator, who cannot stand focusing on one portion of a project. He loves making games, but is spoiled by Minecraft's success. Jeb, on the other hand, can cope with the responsibility of handling mundane minecraft development, and thus is able to funnel the process into a more stable and consistent release cycle. I loved Notch's cool Minecraft ideas, but if not for his sudden rank switch, who knows how many interesting, yet heavily underdeveloped and thus useless features 1.3 would have today. I, personally, welcome Jeb's step upwards in Mojang's office, yet still hope that Notch will take part in future Minecraft brainstorm sessions with his team.

As far as I know, the introduction of display cases is a long-awaited feature for some in the Minecraft community. As long as I will be able to use them to display the time on the wall, and as long as they are Multiplayer- and Mod- compatible, I, and probably everybody else, will be very satisfied by the feature. After all, it is just a slight addition to the possibilities of Minecraft, and does not have to be embraced by the player in order to play the game. I personally dislike the frame around the items, and will most likely edit the texture for achieving a good-looking effect; nevertheless, I welcome this particular feature.

How did you do the interior of the church tower? I've constructed a church, albeit on a smaller scale, but I'm stumped as to how to do the inside of the tower. It would be great if you could post some screen shots of it.

You can also see the two items on the left. The one ontop is a painting and the one on the bottom is a case of case-ception. It's a display case in a display case.

Ignore the list of items that can be put on the display case. Dinnerbone has said that you can use any item in the game.

It's still fun though, but slightly annoying that 4j studios seem to also include the bugs that were in the old beta updates as well! good example is the one where they added shears and the ability to get leaf block, but left in leaf decay for player placed leaf block (face-palm) That was never a feature it was a glitch why include it. but yeah will be a great day when finnaly the xbox version is identical to pc version.

Get some wood,make a crqfting bench 4 wood planks in a square. make a wood pick 3 wood planks along the top 2 sticks down the middle. Mine some stone make a stone pick. Mine some more stone make a furnace. Put wood log in the furnace at the top and use wood planks to cook it this will then make charcoal. Use sticks and charcoal to make some torches and then start digging down. Coal can be found underground but charcoal is basically tue same thing. Keep mining till day and hopefully you will find some more resources then continue on exploration during the day. Might be worth making a sword use 1 stick at the bottom and 2 cobble above it in a line.

Obviously, it's counting up and converting the same updates of the PC one, I have Minecraft on both Xbox and PC, I have it on xbox because most of my friends have it on there because their computer can't run it.

1.7.3 - same as PC one (and same as it is on Xbox right now) 1.8 - next update for xbox, gonna take a while to convert. Was same on PC in.. september/october last year.

4J Studios are just converting the same versions of the PC, Minecraft took so long to convert to XBOX, that when they started converting it, it was BETA 1.6 on PC, so that's why right now it's only on 1.7.3.

He was joking because if you look at my screenshot above, the door is open at the bottom half and closed at the top half, so dogs could go through the bottom, but you have to open it for anyone else to get in. It's just a minor glitch that I've only seen happen on my world.
