Ultimately THIS is why we want a sequel and why R* don't make number 5 (if it is gonna be made) in the year 02 or 03 wouldn't really be a bad thing but either way I think he did kill her because I have no imagination and that's the only reason why I'm saying that.

1 ) CLAUDE KILLS MARIA - i believe 99.9 % in it as he dragged him all way long to save her , although he wanted revenge from catalina but still he saved her from dying and maria was like " it is all messed up with my hair and nails " and clade would be like WTF ! so he decided to kill her .

also if you notice the mission LAST REQUESTS , maria betrayed salvatore , so claude shot her because he dint want any witness .he could have also killed her because he thought that she was just a burden to take care in future and can ce a trouble > so he shooted her .

2 ) HE JUST DID SO TO WARN HER AND SHUT HER MOUTH UP - it is 50-50 for me to decide , if he wanted her to shut he could have kept his hand on her mouth , and if he just shooted to shut her up , there must have been a shout by maria but i din't heard anything like that , all though rockstar have voiced claude to say that only line in the game to make it more interesting . i mean everyone would say " he only speaked at last ", why and etc

3 ) HE SHOTED HIMSELF - i also believe and dont beilive it . i beilive it because he only wanted revenge from catalina and now , when he done it , he hade nothing to do but always live with a feelinglike " whole city suffered because of that one girl had to die at my hands " and that think can=me in mind and he suicides . but it cannot be trusted as maria would have shouted on that moment and claude his found to be at his safehouse after the job . but he could'nt have died

4 A CARTEL SHOTS MARIA AND RUNS AWAY - that was the theory by me , i though a cartel was left and he shoted maria , it can also be thought that he shoted both claude and maria as a shot was shooted from a shotgun ( probably shooting two or more bullests at a time ) and when it comes to the question that who do we play as after the mission " the exchange " , i dont think it have anything to do with a storyline and it was just because of a ivdeogame

5 CATALINA SURVIVES AND SHOT THEM BOTH - well this is a theory by a friend of mine , idont think it could happen as whole helicopter was destroyed and blated in mid air , even if catalina jupjed , she would have died

6 IT WAS JUST DONE TO MAKE THE GAME MYSTERIOUS - this can be the mosst logical theory , i recently ( like 2 days ago ) asked this on rockstar.games site . they said it's mystery is hidden in chatterbox radio in gta 3 . although i listen very carefully almost , but i only heard maria describing claude to the RJ . i dont think it is logical as i also heard that before i did the final mission

7 ALL THE MISC REASONS - i heard many illogical theories like " he shooted a rabbit " or " he shooted mistakenly " . this is all rubish they wouldnt do anything like this . this is nothing but some crazy sh*t

8 ) MARIA TOOK THE SHOTGUN AND SHOOTED CLAUDE - this is IMPOSSIBLE maria was babling and claude saved her , she could'nt do that also .

some people said that maria could'nt die as someone must have arrived as all the mascare and location of the mascare was being described on some public medium . i dont think so because claude is masterkiller and odnt leave someone so easy

although , a very grat game . one must to be playde and i dont think we can get answer of this until we swap lifes with claude speed . but still , i would like to go with the first one .after all , even if thousand theories are brought up , it should have and answer in GTA 4 . gta III was the v best gta . but it do not got and important thing . BIKES no no just joking , nice landscapes , killer sceanario , best patragonist , good story , many mysteries and myths , good mission and a very nice aim of getting revenge in city like liberty city .

hey guys here something mew i thought up for that gun shot . i think it was just a signature of success like they show it in movies , whenever the criminals are happy the shot a bullet in the sky .its a very illogical theory but i think maria stoped talking because credits has started and they simply stopped her .

although , even if you leave all this and see the ending very carefully . it shows up that claude is going to heaven . he had taken over bad , and if you have a clear waether in game , you see half of shoreside vale ans staunton islan and the bridge connecting them . a beautiful sceanery to look . i know r8 dint think of it any this way but it was just me to think it ( very stupid of me actaully but still since i am on that gunshot theory , i watched that ending like 17 times just to see something if i could through the credits sceen background music was good in the cutscne , it was just maria i hated in the scene she was like bla bla all the time . you won't believe , but when i first playde gta 3 ( i played it after gta vice city ) i though they were on a bridge that lead to vice city and claude is the only patragonist in vice city so foolish of me , i dint even knew that there was a gunshot . when i ended it for 5th time then leaving all the sceanery i heard it . i was like it was to indicate that credits has started . but it was wrong of me. but still , i am playing gta 4 on my ps3 , i watch everycutscene but still i dint get clue of that , i wish we get a uniform aswer which was a fact not a theory which all of us are suggesting .

Maybe they just kindly escorted him out of the house, dropped him at the airport, took his blessings, confessed he was like the father they never had, Lance gave a tearful farewell speech and both cried like little girls when they saw his flight take off. Right?
