| QUOTE (Wheelman @ May 14 2009, 12:22) | Since when do gunshots signal the end of missions?
I always took it that he shot her. Why wouldn't he? She screwed him over on more than one occasion, and as the end credits roll, he's finally in a position to exact his revenge. | It's just the end of the main missions. Claude does alot to save Maria in a transaction, he gives away a lot of money and in the process loses his weapons. He could have left Liberty City, but stays to take care of Catalinia. Also, he leaves the Dam area with Maria, why, if he wanted to kill her, wouldn't he do it at the bottom of the dam with the dead gang members. GTAVC and SA are different, they have their own unique endings. Whereas in GTAIII, Claude, in a way, tells Maria to shut up with a burst of the shot gun.

The chopper had the girl who shot Claude and left him to die. The gang-members worked with that very girl to make sure Claude dies one way or the other. I see this as a good enough reason for Claude to kill them all without with the intention of saving another girl who screwed him up.
Besides, Claude had a truck-load of money. Giving some of it to finally get a chance to get back at the woman who did everything possible to kill him wouldn't hurt. If he just barged in there, guns blazing, I don't think she'd have stopped to watch the scenery. Losing his guns wasn't his own decision, just a smart move by Catalina he didn't anticipate.
Now, if gunshots in the dark don't really indicate someone dying then maybe Tommy and Lance just pulled the trigger to shut Diaz up and then safely escorted him out of the mansion. Same case with Hernandez and Pendelbery. If Claude's gunshot was to scare Maria then I expected to hear a shocked gasp or a scream from Maria. Oh wait, thats right, there wasn't any. Maybe she....died?

I think people are not looking at over options that could easily be put into scenario. So far people have only debated if Claude shot Maria or not. Well here's a couple of more options for you fine lot to gander at: 1: Maria took the gun and shot Claude. 2: Claude committed suicide because he couldn't take it any longer. 3: The gun is let off by mistake. 4: He shoots a rabbit. I think the second outcome would've been ironic actually. In the sense Claude has come all this way to seek revenge and now he has done it, he doesn't know what to do next. Leaving him in a mid-life crises sort of predicament; so he decides what's the worth, puts the shotgun in his mouth and blows his brain all over Maria. (Then Marty Chonks puts it into a can of Bitch 'N' Dog food) .

Number two wouldn't make sense to me just because of the fact that you play as him right after the story missions finish. And I think he's a little too skilled to have his gun go off by mistake. The rabbit one, though, is very possible. In my opinion, I think he killed her. I can see how he would do it to shut her up, but he's a badass, so I don't think he'd waste a bullet on just shutting her up.

| QUOTE (Cartel Cruiser @ Feb 23 2010, 07:51) | | i bet if Maria kept her mouth shut, i would've been a Made Man, and the Mafia would like me but no............. |
Yeah, you would have, but nobody cares about anyone. It's all about money. Screw that sh*t with Made Man and "part of family". About Maria...hell, I haven't even completed the game yet (find out why in my interests box), but here: First version - Claude killed Maria - Well, honestly, she was a, shortly, a bitch and useless. She would only bring the problems to Claude. She has a big mouth, so if I was there I would kill her. But it isn't in R* style. I don't know. Second version - Claude didn't kill Maria. Well, yea, it sounds Rockstar-ish. Maybe Claude gave sign to Maria to shut up, to be quiet and, simply, end. End of the line, end of the all troubles, end of story and finally, peace and peaceable life... In Rockstar style. But, who knows...maybe even R* doesn't exactly know did he killed Maria. That's their style, like someone said, they always left you in dark. And that's cool. Games with obvious and too happy end are boring, they don't interest you so much, so yea...I say that it is best like this... Sorry for the bump, though.
