Description

This Loader for GTA IV allows you to use ASI plugins in the game. Experimental support for AIL plugins (written in .Net) is included.

Multiplayer is still available. DO NOT use this to gain an unfair advantage in multiplayer games (especially in ranked games)!!!!

It is still very untested. Please report any problems.

Requirements

Required to run this plugin are:

- GTA IV
- Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 installed on your machine


I've included download links below. If the application crashes or behaves in an unwanted manner then download and install those updates/tools.

The .Net Framework SHOULD be installed already after the GTA IV installation.

- .Net Framework 3.5 - DOWNLOAD
- .Net Framework 2.0 - DOWNLOAD (only needed if you can't install v3.5 for some reason)


Installation

Just copy the dsound.dll into you GTA IV installation directory.


Plugin Installation

Copy your ASI or AIL plugin files to your GTA IV installation directory, or the "plugins" subfolder.

IMPORTANT: Only use plugins made for your game version! Plugins made fpr GTA4 patch 1.0.1.0 will usually NOT work with 1.0.2.0!


Deinstallation

Just delete the dsound.dll from your GTAIV folder.

Feel free to add this plugin as a download to your site as long as you give proper credit. However, as long as it is technically possible, please DON'T upload it to other webservers. Sure we do. The AsiLoader by Alexander refuses to load my .Net ScriptHook. I'm pretty sure it is not my fault. It loads fine in XliveLess, but not everyone want xlive to be removed. Thus i decided to write my own.

I have never tried xliveless, as indeed it seems to not enable you to logon to live, which is something I'm not willing to give up.

I'm not using any of the .net scripthook mods yet, and Alexander's asi loader works fine for me. I guess the minute that I want to use a .net scripthook mod, I will sure check out Yaasil, nice name

That's perfectly fine. I was just pretty annoyed that it still did not work after days. I do not want to steal users from Alexander's AsiLoader and also don't want to blame him or something. He's a great guy and i guess he just didn't have the time to fix it. Nevertheless, i spent a whole day just trying to find a way to get it to run with his AsiLoader. It did not work. So now here is the other solution: A new AsiLoader.

[EDIT] Alexander fixed it now. Just as i said... no need to switch anymore.

It's cool, I wanted to use some of your mods and found out that Alexander's ASI loader doesn't work (yet) with them. I'll report back if I have any problems with YAASIL.

Make sure to use only ASI plugins made you your game version. I've no influence on that (just as the other AsiLoaders).

is it my end or your loader?

@GammaRaptor: No, it is no pun on YASU. There are several tools with a "Yet Another Whatever" name. A very popular example would be YaST (Yet another Setup Tool), the configuration interface for Linux. I just thought the name would fit pretty well as there are 2 AsiLoaders already. And YAASIL sounds interesting.

i have XP, brother.

maybe i have some bad files. i think i have forgotten to backup my files after i patched to 1.0.2.0 and alexander's loader changed a few things i didnt back up.

what original files should run with your loader?

Usually yes, but Alexander has to make a new version of Alice for GTA4 patch 1.0.2.0 first.
