flicko wipes the sweat from his palms!!

Right, everything up to here has been updated; All new challenges have been added, completed challenges have been filled in and challenges have been modified. Thanks heaps for everybody's contributions in this, it's certainly nothing like the VC one!

Girishb, to be honest it doesn't matter if a challenge seems impossible. If there is any kind of hope that the challenge can be done, it will be added to the table. And if said challenges do prove to be impossible, then it will be stated in the table. A couple of Challenges in the VC topic state 'No' under the Can you do it? category. It's all part of the fun! biggrin.gif

Hey flicko, can you add in the findings for the Rocket Launcher one, "If you drop from the roof top to the ground directly, rather than having two drops, you'll survive."

Good work on updating, btw icon14.gif

Sure thing, mate, it's been added.

My SA has finally arrived in the post today! I'll be taking part in some of these challenges in the near future (once I get accustomed to the game again, since it has been 4 years since I last played on it).

Great. You'll be rather pleased that it has finally arrived.
Which platform will you be playing on?

Well, glad to see this here, Flicky icon14.gif !

A few challenges:
1) Complete the race Backroad wanderer within 1:36 with no bike skill at all.
2) Get the Hydra from Area 69/ Restricted area right at the very beginning of the game.
3) Get a score of 5000+ on the mission " Cesar Vialpando". ( Girish. this doesn't apply for you lol.gif )
4) Complete the SF Hippy shopper asset with 4/5 stars without re-spraying the bike( bike skill left to Flicky to decide).

Well, that's enough for now i think. Hard challenges that_guy2057_evilgrin.gif .

For challenge 1, i used GC's record book as evidence to see what's the best time.
For hydra, obviously you can use weapons of your choice but before attempting "Big Smoke".

@Flicko: I think there's no fault in asking for screenshots right? For challenge 2 and 3 i think screens are necessary. You can add anything of your choice, Flicko.

afaik the Hydras at Area69 are not there at the start of the game, I think they are rewards for completing "Vertical Bird".

BMX Challenge
QUOTE (radicell @ Jan 22 2009, 10:19)
Damn, thought the BMX challenge would be interesting but forgot about the 20% prerequisite! Oh well, let's just change it to minimal cycling skill (preferably just 20%) and none of the mega-hop exploits.
Ok, let's try without mega-hops. For those interested in this, I made a save file which has new-game conditions PLUS exactly 20% cycling skill and a Packer spawn at the skate park. The save loads at the skate park.

<BMX Challenge Save - v1>
<BMX Challenge Save - v2>

Have Fun! - I'll try this out now...

Yeah, i saw that tounge.gif

For the challenges; i think the Hydra one is far, far too easy.
You can just fly in in a Shamal and grab one.

Oh yeah. See rubreggs post above.
Beat me again.

Others sound good, though.

BMX Challenge
Done, using the Packer on 3 coronas (that one in the half-pipe can be done without). No mega-hops.

Here are a few challenges that I have actually done, so I’m excluding myself from them. I just want to see if anyone else is up to the challenge:
(if you don't want to add them to the list , that's cool... I won't be offended)

1) Start a brand new game and obtain Katie as a girlfriend before saving or doing any of the story missions, without getting wasted or busted.
(this takes about 20 minutes)

2) Start a brand new game and take all 50 Snapshots before saving or doing any of the story missions, without getting wasted or busted.
(this takes about 50 minutes)

3) Start a brand new game and collect all 50 Horseshoes before saving or doing any of the story missions, without getting wasted or busted.
(this takes about 60 minutes)

4) Start a brand new game and complete up to at least level 12 on the Vigilante Mission before saving or doing any of the story missions, without getting wasted or busted.
(this takes about 30 minutes)

5) Start a brand new game and complete either the San Fierro Hippy Shopper courier asset mission or the Las Venturas Burger Shot courier asset mission before saving or doing any of the story missions, without getting wasted or busted.
(this takes about 30 minutes)

For this challenge, it would be nice if you were to allot a set bike skill, since it is your challenge.

And regarding screenshots, you can ask for them, but, providing people who complete the challenges give a detailed method which is believable, I have no objetion to not posting up screenshots.

Everything's been added up to here, thanks zmoonchild and cacarla for the additions.

Yeah, thanks Zoom - I was going to suggest you'd put some of your challenges in here, I especially like the vigilante one. What about spicing up vigilante by starting the mission without having picked up any weapons before? Like in your video...

As others have pointed out, the only Hydras available from the (unmodded) beginning is the ones flying in the sky. Getting one of those is however a challenge wink.gif

Here's another fun challenge:

Complete "Missapropriation" using a Rustler.

After starting the mission go pick up a Rustler from the airstrip and use only that until the evidence dossier is dropped.

i got one or two..

jump from rooftop to rooftop in LS downtown
using the NRG-500. dont fall off even once.
and you have to jump on 6 rooftops (the tallest one included)

climb a wall using NRG-500.
you need to do a trick/glitch to make this work.
ive only found one place where you can do this.
its close to the shady industries building in san fierro.
south side of the train tracks that are leading to the export/import place.
there are two large containers and you can perform this between them.
you need to be really good at stoppies to do this.
you accelorate towards the gap between the containers.
you pull off a stoppie and turn the bike so that the rear wheel
touches the wall of the other container. then just hold square
or what ever you use to reverse in Xbox or PC and you and your bike should
start climbing the wall backwards.

i have done both of the above so they are possible.

860, the key is to not tell people how to do it, makes the challenge more... challenging!

I've added all challenges up to this point. There are 18 open challenges for you all to attempt. Should keep one or two of you busy! tounge.gif

I've just gone and completed The Da Nang Thang using nothing but the knife and the katana (this was mandatory since it replaced the knife).

I started the mission and after the heli crash, swam back to San Fierro and recharged up to full health/armor. Then, I swam back and climbed onto the freighter. I slit the shotgun guy's throat, and for the purposes of the challenge, didn't pick up the shotgun. Then started climbing the blocks, taking a few hits but not enough to damage me. When climbing through the labyrinth of cargo containers I picked up the health pickup, and got to the hull with less than half a bar of health left from all the hits I took. I dropped down into the cargo hold to trigger the next part of the mission. By this point, everyone on the upperside of the ship had miraculously disappeared, so I climbed back up to the hull, jumped overboard, swam to San Fierro and recharged my health/armor.

Then I swam back to the ship and climbed up. There was one guy who didn't disappear with the rest, took care of him with my knife. I made my way to the cargo hold and recharged the armor that I had lost when fighting the single guy on the upperside. Then, instead of taking hits by mad-dashing through the cargo container labyrinth in the cargo hold, I parkour'd onto a few cargo boxes and leaped over the corridors, landing nicely right in front of the guy with a grenade. He threw his grenade with maximum strength (which seems to be pre-programmed), and since I was standing right in front of him, it did me no harm. So I took care of grenade-guy with my knife, and one of his comrades. Then I knocked the padlock off the prisoner container with my knife.

I leaped across the cargo containers, back to the hull, just like last time but backwards. I had lost quite a bit of health/armor fighting the grenade-guy and his comrade, so I jumped overboard once again, got back to San Fierro and charged up with health/armor.

Back onto the ship, I made my way to the bridge, sprinting past the guy near the entrance and the guys guarding the stairs. The snakehead leader threw me a katana and I took it, replacing my knife. Chopped the snakehead leader up to pieces. Then mad-dashed past the three guards again, joined the refugees, took my dinghy, got thanked, mission passed! icon14.gif

Great work, Radicell. I got a bit of work up my sleeves so no SA today. How about this for a challenge. Start a new game, get to SF airport, drive around with the NRG over there and finally, get back to Grove Street and then start "Big Smoke".

Also, regarding the Tag challenge, is that 1 hour according to real-life/ your home time or the game time? If it's in-game, then it's just nothing but 1 minute.

EDIT: Just got this monumental challenge.

Complete "San Fierro Fastlane" right at the very beginning of the game. This can be accessed the downloading the CG independent play save. OrionSR has done this, PD did this ages ago. Rubregg, Zoom and Phreak have done it, i think. So, it's upto us wow.gif .

Real life 1 hour, of course. In game-time it would be impossible to complete any tags in 1 "hour". lol.gif
